MSC APP Check In! Helpful Tips & Step By Step Process!

Hello Happy Travelers!
We are getting ready to sail on a seven night Western Caribbean sailing on the MSC Seashore! We will be departing Miami, Florida and visiting Ocho Rios Jamaica, Georgetown Grand Cayman, Cozumel Mexico, and Ocean Cay ( MSC’s Private Island). As we prep for our sailing, we want to show you the step by step process for checking in via the MSC For Me APP! We show everything and give some tips!

I don't understand why they have you register a credit card if you still have to go to one of their machines on board to activate a card for on board payment.

Update: just checked in for my upcoming MSC cruise, before I checked in they assigned me arrival time, and once I start the checking process, I have the option to choose the arrival time from 9:30 to 3:30

So when I held my passport vertically to scan the information it worked.
tipp, you dont need the wifi package to use the app, the app is free and use another wifi line from the boot

What’s the min amount you can put on your cruise card
Hi how soon before your cruise can you check in?
I have filled in my booking number and name but keeps saying failed and I cannot proceed.

Even if you register a card you still have to go to the kiosk onboard and register your card.

Actually, we never did. Everything was settled through the card setup during the check-in process. 😁

Doesn't work. Booking number does not correspond to MSC Smart Ship for which MSC for Me is available.
Great info! One question, print and attach your luggage tags - how do you attach a piece of paper and keep it from tearing/getting wet/etc.?

Laminate is cheaper..you can get that at a craft store

Hi Kevin! We use reusable plastic luggage tags sleeves that we purchased on Amazon! But other wise you can just staple or tape the tags around your luggage handles! Thanks for watching! 🤗❤️🚢

Passport scanning was terrible, but I've managed to complete it playing with zoom. I started with lower page (the one with data) exactly fitted the green frame and then I was slowly moving phone closer. After a few attempts it suddenly worked.
The amount of time I’m spending on scanning passports this evening is criminal…this feature is utter garbage

We are cruising next month in the Mediterranean but the MSC Sinfonia does not have MSC app available. Had to check in online.

We are traveling from the US to Ocean Cay (Bahamas). Would we need a passport, or would a birth certificate suffice like any other cruise line. Thanks

I couldn't get my passport to scan either, also couldn't get the darn credit card to add. I kept getting an error message on the credit card when I attempted to add it. I see the CC isn't a mandatory field, so I'm not that concerned, but it was annoying that I can't do it ahead of time. I really wanted to avoid another stop on the ship when I embark. Thank you for the video, it was helpful to know what the app will do after my group completes their check-in. This will be my first cruise, and I'm a little anxious about all the unknowns. Absolutely! So glad the video helped some! I'm sorry the process hasn't been the smoothest. MSC's App is definitely not our favorite cruise app we have used. I know it all seems a bit overwhelming but try to not sweat the small stuff, just make sure you have your travel documents and all will be well! We hope you have a great time! @@HoffmanHappyTravels We had a great trip with them. It was our first cruise, so I'm really interested to compare them against other lines. Sure there were things that could be improved upon, but we had no issues at all. Do you have some favorite cruise lines you'd suggest for us to look into? (Our kids are now all 21 and older).
Do you know how early we can access the check-in function? I am 50 days away from my trip, and that option does not seem to be available yet.

I have been trying to do this within my MSC app bizarrely in the credit card section it seems to take you to an external website (it doesn’t look like yours at all) and even then the card input does not work. There are NO helpline numbers or anything like that with this app so I am just stuck. Highly frustrating.

Thanks for the tips. We have 3 kids and we don’t need passports for where we are going so why doesn’t it give us an option for them for travel docs? Besides passport or Id. We cannot continue with check in without that well action done. Ugh.

On the MSC app when i was checking in, i didn’t get the option to chose the bed arrangement, btw my ship is seascape. How would i be able to choose bed arrangements?

Hey i have a question about the msc app even though i have my own cabin and i dont have a credit card can my dad regester his credit card ? On the check in now?

What of you don't have a passport, it is not needed for this cruise. My wife and I are going on the MSC Meraviglia and we are putting in the Information manually for our birth certificates and it is still not working.

i booked but never got an email about luggage tags
Hi Anna! I'm not quite sure, you can reach our to MSC directly or your travel agent to inquire. The good thing is that the porters at the terminal have luggage tags for you can use so having them ahead of time isn't necessary. Thanks for watching! 🤗🚢❤️
when I finished my vacation my credit card I can removed?

Can we cruise on MSC with id and birth certificate????
