I really enjoyed watching this video. I was living in Lang Gons when this was filmed. Only 5 years old though. This brought me so many memories. Thank you for posting 🙏🏾
I’ll be, I’ve visited friends in that same housing area. I remember the restaurant. I was stationed at Kirchgoens on my first tour. Friedberg on my second.
@@darkWorkOne My family lived there from 86-2000, we lived in the neighborhood on the hill past the supermarket. My dad was a GS guy and worked on the Depot at Giessen (saw your other video). Have you been back recently? It's surprising how much it still feels the same
@@mcpaintball My Dad also worked at the Giessen Depot! He was a civilian and worked in recreation (rec center, bowling alley, etc) I went back in 2000, but haven't been back since. I've seen another channel's video that drives through and much looks the same, even the same businesses.
Possibly...I'm still going through old tapes from that time. I have 1 other currently on my channel of driving through: th-cam.com/video/2DQVOXactrA/w-d-xo.html
@@darkWorkOne i was last week in the are were the US familys lived in the 1980 -2000's it still looks almost the same as before but now there live Some Turkish and kurdish familys
Came for your Berlin wall videos and noticed this in your uploads. That's pretty cool and unexpected. I used to have a pen pal from Lang Göns in the late 80s (I'm from Cologne) and back then I always wondered what the place looked like. Never went there and nowadays it wouldn't really be the same, so thanks to your video I can see it like it was "back then". There's probably not many videos about that town from that era!
@@darkWorkOne Hello. Right now I am in Langgons. It' very unbelievable feelings. I watch this video which you have shooted on 1987 when I was 1 year old. And now I am 37 and came here to walk. I can say that many things not changed. Thank you for this video...
@@bakmil Hi, thanks for watching! That's great to hear, glad to share! I lived in Langgons from 1987 - 1990 and have many great memories living there. I revisited back in 2000, and I hope to be back in the next couple of years. I have more videos I will upload as soon as I convert them from video tape.

Thank you very much for posting. My ancestors were from Langgons. If anyone has come across the surname Plitsch at all. I hope to get there one day.

oh nice! We were neighbors. What years were you in Kirchgoens?
I grew up in this village, but on the other side of town.

If your pen pal was American, that could have been me! I lived there for about 3 years
@@darkWorkOne Sadly not, he was German.
