Some tips: before you get into calling your guides, to protect yourself from calling the wrong beings say something along the lines of “I intend to and will only connect with beings of light, love & joy. I will only connect with beings that love me, protect me & help me serve my higher self” and say it with belief & conviction.
if you need any help just lemme know! After saying that intention^ and I do get into connecting with my guides & spirit I say something like “Dear team of divine white light & my spirit guides of light”- or I address who specifically Eg. “Dear ancestors/name of ancestor/name of Angel/archangel, etc.) this addresses only beings of light in your spectrum, once you’re comfortable and confident enough then you can start opening yourself to the dark energies. Pray & ask for a divine white light of protection, ask Archangel michael to use his sword to “chimney sweep” & cut through all fear & illusions that make you feel unsafe🦋 it can sound really woo woo but this has helped me sooo many times.
Also if you can find ethically sourced Palo Santo or Sage leaves to dry, it’ll help you clean your space so much more of negative energies😄, The smoke off these repel negative energies-it is important to let the smoke waft around your house and then open your windows so the negative or evil energies can leave and remember x the littlest grain of faith moves mountains (-not Christian per say-My beliefs are quite mixed under spirituality).
