      @crecasens 10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Unfortunately, it’s not broken. It is set up exactly the way rich White men who seek to grasp and maintain power designed it to be. Remember decades ago women and people of color were not even allowed to vote and we had this legal system set up back then as well.

    When Jack Smith came on the scene, he carried himself with character, dignify, professionalism and focus. He was not hired by Donald Trump, nor should he wait to be fired, by anyone. He did his job, assembled an amazing team, avoided scandal, completed documentation that was always questioned or appealed. Mr. Smith has stood up like no one else did and has faced bravely all what he could in spite of a huge adversity. We stand by him and his character, intelligence, and perseverance.

I hold all three branches of government accountable for this situation; they violated their oaths as soon as they took office. While not everyone in these positions is corrupt, there are enough to create significant issues. Now we find ourselves with a convicted felon and sex offender as President, which is shameful. Additionally, the voters who supported Trump and believe he cares about them or their families share some responsibility. It is now the duty of the public to oversee these branches, and we must take action because many officials do not care, while those who do often feel powerless. Everyone can choose to “blame” Jack Smith and/or AG Garland if they want to but the truth is our Forefathers created this 3 branch government system (I.e., the executive, the judicial and the legislative) with the idea of preventing the type of leadership Trump is operating now. They expected this system to be able to handle this type of issue by holding each other accountable. However, the problem is our current occupants of the respective branches are not holding up to their responsibilities and obligations.

    Brian's argument(s) is very idealistic. The morality of the argument is valid, the reality may be impractical. Jack Smith may weigh the potential he has for doing good in a different position, possibly returning to chasing war crimes, as having greater potential contribution to humanity than beating his head against the wall of American stupidity and corruption. I certainly can't condemn Jack Smith. Jack is not the criminal in this conversation.
