The greyhound is the fastest dog. But they cant match a whippet for acceleration. As as far as coursing goes, coursing greyhounds are rubbish. Wouldn't last 30 seconds on a proper course

So hare coursing was used to control numbers of hares cos they were pests but hardly any are killed?
