    You’ve clearly put a lot of thought and effort into preparing your son’s spaces. Love how you’ve modified your existing setup to make it work. ☺️

      It's a constant work in progress but thank you so much! We've since moved into a new house with a bit more space but I wanted to show that it was still possible to create a Montessori at home environment with very little. Also, I love your channel and am very much inspired by what you do!

    How about the hanging shelves like ledge book shelves drilled into the wall to free up floor space? Just a thought ♡

      We're moving soon so we will have a little more space, but that's a great idea!

    I love seeing how you Montessori in a small space! I always say Montessori can look different for everyone depending on your home and family. It is great to see other Montessori mamas on TH-cam!

    I love that you don't have this like perfect set up. You are just sometime pragmatic about the space and the things that are possible. This is such a relief :) I also love that you don't show how your child is doing averything perfectly. In other videos that put a lot of pressure, because my child often just doesn't want to clean up or set up the table ^^ so it was so relaxing when you said, your boy still doesn't love when you cook because he would prefer if you held him

    We live in a one bedroom, 750 sq ft house with a 20 month old. We have gotten pretty creative to set up the environment for my daughter. But we've managed to get a toy shelf, pickler, play kitchen and little table and chair into her space. It definitely presents some challenges (there's barely enough counter space in our kitchen for me to work, much less make space for my daughter), but we do what we can with what we have. Thanks for sharing your space.

    I need to get back into rotating toys. I did it when my daughter was younger but have called out of the habit recently.

    I have a question... how do you handle relatives and others who insist on getting your child toys and items that you are not wanting to introduce? I'm thinking like toys that do 90% of the play for your kids and superhero figures and stuffed cartoon animals and monsters... do you tell them? Or just pretend they will use them?

    • @thepalmerpack
      @thepalmerpack  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I try to be honest about the type of things we like beforehand, in casual conversation. It's also helpful to provide a wish list. Even if they don't buy from the list, they can get an idea of what you like. I don't have a problem being direct because I don't want people to waste their money. I just simplify it and say "We don't want any electronic toys please" etc and when given plastic electronic toys people are always looking for batteries and I say to leave it because we won't be putting batteries in anyway. It's a hard subject because I don't want to appear ungrateful, but I'm also going to put my family first as I'm the gate keeper of what comes into our home, and I'll uphold our values before placating someone else. When in doubt you can graciously accept anything and then quietly donate when your kids lose interest.

    I love your videos! Energy and childcare knowledge is inspiring, soothing and makes me feel supported. Don’t stop creating videos!!! The good stuff and bad. Boy moms need all the help they can get. I also love your content that focused on child education and what to do with a toddler in that respect as I haven’t a clue. People say not to teach math and language before age 4/5 and I really disagree. You are confirmation that it’s never too soon, but I’d love a video on how that looks when teaching and sparking interest. Rore is really smart so it’s intimidating. I work full time so I can’t dedicate my time to educating him and it’s hard on me

    • @thepalmerpack
      @thepalmerpack  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! I love seeing content from other boy moms too, so I get it! I think I'll make some more early childhood education videos soon! I believe kids are much more capable than society thinks, and I don't think it's ever too early to teach something, if there's interest.

    Great job! I have been struggling on the coat hanging process with my six year old. It usually ends up on the floor by the shoe rack no matter how close we put the stool that would allow him to succeed at the tack of hanging. I put a hook on the back of our door, after I seen how cute you made it look, at his level no stool needed and talk about a one eighty. Thank you.

    how old is your son when he starts sleeping by himself in his own room? Thank you

    • @thepalmerpack
      @thepalmerpack  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      About 5 months. We felt comfortable moving him at that age because we share a wall between our bedrooms so we were still super close. The goal was to co-sleep for the first year but he was not enjoying it, and preferred being by himself!

    Hi I was just wondering where do you store large toys when they are out of rotation like the pikler triangle?

    • @thepalmerpack
      @thepalmerpack  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      We have a small shed that we can keep bigger stuff in, or I'll fold up the Pikler triangle and store it behind the big chair in his room.
