    Are you a private contractor? Where I live, most cities in Arizona, the cities, state, and counties maintain day-to-day maintenance. Larger cities also maintain State highway traffic signals within thier jurisdiction. Big projects like new traffic light installation are handled by independent contractors.
    It seems like you guys do everything going between city ans state infrastructure. Construction, maintenance, everything. I'm enjoying the longer widscreen content.

    Hey Traffic Light Doctor, I noticed all your new cabinet Installtions are TS2 type 2. The place I work for all the new installtions are TS2 type 1, which I find a lot easier to change anything in the since the Terminal and Facilities BIU 's do the load switch assignment automatically. Is there a reason the place you work for is still using TS2 type 2 instead of upgrading to TS2 type 1 or even some of the new ATC Cabinets. Love the videos, thanks for the content.

    TIL about a pull string within certain types of wiring insulation. Cool! :D I'm used to having to do all that either with tools or by hand with a knife.
    --Also how big streetlamps are typically worked on. Always wondered if you had to go all way way up there all the time, or if you could bring the lights themselves to the ground. Great to see how its done, thank you for this video. :]

      probably changed to leds and a new controller. maybe some of the cables got wet over time. Sometimes its just more reliable to swap something like this completely

  • @GrnArrow092
    @GrnArrow092 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    The thing I've always wondered when I see a new signal being installed is how the crew keeps track of where each wire is supposed to connect to. There's nothing on the sleeve of the cable to indicate which signal that the other end of the cable is connected to.

    Brand new permanent installation, and only using span wires? The mast arm mafia would like to have a word with you. :P

    • @xHadesStamps
      @xHadesStamps 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Didn’t even use a lower anchor wire, making it inferior to the old installation.

    Don't know if it's due to the heavy rain & winds we had earlier this year, but the traffic lights down the street from me all got reinforcement bars about a month ago. Here in Los Angeles, as I'm sure you know, we don't have wires holding up our traffic lights. Wires seem so dangerous, why do they exist?

    honestly i wouldve expected a lot more light for work on such a big intersection. Like a big lighttower in the middle or on two corners to be able to see and to immediately make it obvious to all drivers that somebody is working on the intersection. This just seems really dangerous from the german perspective where something like this would have never happened at night without light or a complete closure of the working area or the whole intersection
