As for filtering out the Tuskarr tackleboxes, you can use Silver dragon and put tackleboxes into Ignore list. It would still ping you about the dirt piles and the expedition bags.
This is the best gold making video I've ever watched. It's exactly what I do, but manually. I haven't played since Pandaria and made so many mistakes with my professions as I was learning. This video is well produced and paced excellently. I wish I watched this video a couple of weeks into starting Dragonflight. Well done!
At this point i believe YT can read minds cause ive been thinking about farming gold via proffesions cause a friend gave me 5k gold since ive had only 200 on me and needed a repair. Love the video, hope youll make more!
farming and selling mats is always a good way to earn gold. i also run races and do WQs that give gold. it's always worth doing those now when 600 to 1000 gold is the reward scale.
Thank you Hazel for your helpful guidance as always. Sadly I'm one of those players who will be buying crafters' goods rather than becoming competition on the AH! I wish I could get into professions (hence watching this video) but it's like there's a switch in my brain which just plays white noise when I try to engage with it. I just don't find it fun and the more complex it is, the more I tune out! Shame, but oh well :) Glad there are crafters out there enjoying the system though!
Heya Hazel! I haven't played WoW in years but am getting back into it with some friends. I remembered how you helped me get set up for making gold with TSM back in the day, and its nice seeing you've found an easier way haha. Though some part of me may drag me back into the spreadsheet world of TSM someday if I get heavily invested lol. Thanks again for always being helpful and informative for folks like me that need a little help.
Just a player for raids/M+ nothing else. Kept my main professions relevant. Holy moly after I saw this vid I am kicking myself on what I’ve missed. Thanks for this kind of makes me want to do other things rather than kill really really hard stuff now.
Holy cow Hazel, I owe you a huge thank you! As someone with max alchemy and almost all trees filled out, I've been playing the auction house game for a while using the auctionator add-on. But as for calculating, what's going to be most profitable, I've been doing that the long-handed math way. With varying degrees of success. I downloaded craft sim as soon as you mentioned it and oh my gosh I don't know where it's been all this time. I made about 80k just yesterday! I might be able to retire my notebook with all my lists of mat costs and selling prices. ❤
It's been a month. I am happy to report that I'm up about 800,000 gold, which is way faster than that I have been able to earn gold before. Next time they drop a 5 million gold mount. I'll be ready!
I picked up CraftSim a few months ago because of another one of your videos. It really helped a lot! Another nice feature it has is that it gives a projected profit or loss on a crafting order where you would supply the mats. I've definitely benefitted from having multiple tools for different recipes. As a tailor, I use multicraft for making bolts, then resourcefulness when I make those bolts into bags. Inspiration for high-difficulty crafting orders, resourcefulness if rank 5 is already guaranteed.
I have moved so so much in terms of jewelcrafting and engineering mats. I don't make finished products all that much, but I have sold tens of thousands of glossy stones, frameless lenses, blasting powder, etc.
10:16 Forbidden Reach still has knowledge point rares, summoning items are cheap on the AH. Look under Misc, Reagent and epic quality or above for the summoners for your two particular professions. 15:14 Unlock the Field of Ferocity on you high ilvl toons. It has ~600g base in addition to any gold rewards. This half-week, I got 1856g for completing the WQ in war mode.
@hazelnuttygames - Something TSM does really well is, giving you an idea of the sell rate of an item without needing to experiment too much on your own. When looking at the tooltip of an item with TSM installed you'll get a stat called "Region Ave Daily Sold". For commodities this is VERY important for identifying realistic returns. For example - invis potions typically have a pretty decent profit margin but if you look at the ave daily sold, you'll see they don't move very quickly maybe 100-150 per day. So you can make a few to toss on the AH or you could make 1k HP pots that sell between 2-4k units per day. When you're talking about moving 500k worth of raw mats having that Region Ave Daily Sold information is the single most valuable piece of info after you figure out profitability.
Great guide, thank you! You said it right, if it is easy, everyone would be doing it now. I'm still going to stick to my spreadsheets for profit calculations, but the prof knowledge tracker addon is a must have for me!
Great video, I have already been doing some of these but there was some great tips that I have been missing out on. What is the addon @15:08 that gives her that nice map overlay?
Blizzard really went nuts with professions this expansion. I’m not a huge fan of how complicated they made it but it’s far better than the dumpster fire they gave us in Shadowlands. I gave up on professions really quickly back then. This current system has me modestly engaged.
The main issue I run into while on the Auction House are the Goblins, constantly, always, undercutting. You might post 2000 vials, but it slowly to never sells because someone with 200 will undercut you by maybe a few silver. Then the next minute, someone undercuts them by half the amount in gold, with 1000 listed, for no logical reason. Rinse repeat, until your 1900 vials get mailed back to you. You also can't play their game because say you list 500 at 50g a piece, by the end you'll be posting 20 at 10g a piece. It's ridiculous.
Watched your video thinking maybe I had did something wrong in the past or at least with the new system. I have always had trouble making gold then the longneck mount showed up and the prices went crazy with the TSM addon etc. This expansion with its new crafting systems has made me realize I just never had the time to make gold in a massive manner and I have just stopped playing altogether now. I miss the days when there were better things to do to make gold like soloing dungeons. Could play classic I know but it is just missing to many features that I have come to like in retail. It is sad but I think the WoW economy has killed the game for me. Just like the real world inflation is getting insane.
Here's one easy gold making tip for anyone who has a lot of max level alts: Do the Tuskarr feast's quest every week on every toon that can do it. The quest reward has a small chance to give you an Alchemical Flavor Pocket which is a highly sought after item that can be sold on the auction house. Not sure if they're region-wide or not, but I've seen them going anywhere from 50k-100k and I managed to sell one I got last week for 83k. It's not an insane amount or anything, but it's fairly easy to do on any max level alts you might have.
They don't need to be max level, they just have to be 60 and up actually but yes. Only problem is the flavor pocket can be very rng to get a drop. I've gotten several personally but a friend of mine did the weekly more than 100 times before getting one and honestly just gave up after
Idk if I've missed something but engineering feels like a huge waste of time past the wormhole toy (which sometimes even loses you time if it sticks you at the ass end of nowhere in the zone you pick + you're so fast in this expansion anyway so what's the point). There are never any crafting orders with materials included, only people taking advantage of engineers trying to do their 2 weekly orders and in my entire time since playing this expansion I have yet to see a crafting order that would make profit to craft. Honestly hoping I'm dumb and have just missed the point but I'm feeling like I'd be better off re-rolling or levelling profs on an alt and ignoring my mains prof.
Question: You say you don't use TSM here but I see on your spreadsheet of addons that you have TSM and LootAppraiser, how are you utilizing these 2 addons?
I just made a million gold overnight by selling the 97k fish I had left over from the Tuskar rep turn ins that I bought for 20 silver and sold for 11-13g each. Well, actually they sold in less than an hour.
Is there a way to sort all of the profitable items in your profession window so they're all easy to find? I've been going down the lists with enchanting and jewelcrafting so it's thousands of recipes that I have to check. I have been using CraftSim, Auctionator, and TSM.
So just- *large* amounts of alchemy… those two addons at least can probably help find what’s profitable atm. Maybe start not with 100, but 20-50 for those of us still on the lower end and hope it ramps from there when you add it to the racing and stuff.
When farming the draconic shards of knowledge, it's important to know that it's a catchup system: they drop more frequently if you are behind on your knowledge points, but not so much if you are up to date. Also, if you want to get to specific details of the profession system, there are two ways you can make a lot of money that you might miss: (1) using Illustrious insight to guarantee quality three on consumables, matts or equipment enchants; (2) understanding the hidden crafting bonuses. In the first case, there are some itens that you cannot guarantee quality 3 no matter how many knowledge points you have. You can only get quality three by inspiration procs, using illustrious insights or by the hidden crafting bonuses that i will explain later. These quality three itens tend to cost more on the auction house and so you can make a lot of money this way. That's why artisan's mettle are so much more valluable than people think. In the seccond case, every time you craft something, you have a hidden chance of making that item with a bonus skill that go anywhere from 0 to 5% from the recipe difficulty. you can proc 0%, 1%, 2% etc. The closest your skill is of reaching the recipe difficulty, the higher the chance of getting a quality 3 item with this proc. That's where your racial profession bonuses comes in if you have any: they can get you closer to reaching the recipe dificulty.
Hazel! Thank you so much for this! I'm a long-time alchemist and I have felt so lost this season with the regional auction house! Nothing feels profitable! I *used* to make millions but I've just been watching my reserves dwindle as I've swapped from paying subscription in tokens to paying in moneys! I've always done a spreadsheet to determine profitability of a particular craft and that's gone out the window completely with the complexity that comes with the multicraft/inspired bonuses. That said, your recommendation for craftsim is very, very appreciated!
See I do all of these things (and I'm also an alchemist) and the reason I was having issues and got discouraged from trying to sell stuff on the auction house is because I kept making things that Craftsim said were profitable and then they wouldn't sell before the price plummeted, and then I'm just stuck with a bunch of phials and potions that if I sell them it'll be a massive loss (also I got tired of using Craftsim because it's so laggy). Though now it's been so long that I do have like 7k mettle, so that could really help me maybe get some profit through guaranteeing rank 3 stuff. But my bigger problem is my computer broke so I haven't been able to play for two weeks (if my computer hadn't broke I would've maxed out my herbalism and alchemy knowledge by now too). I've gotten so into professions this expansion that I just recently (up until my computer broke anyway) started working on my 6th character for professions. I've got herb/alch on my main, a mining/bs character who's 1 week away from being maxed in mining, a mining/jc character, an herb/inscription character, a skinning/lw character whose profession knowledge is still pretty low because he's new, and my newest one is tailoring/enchanting. When I get a new computer I'm gonna try to get back into gold making.
I wish they made this gear transmogable ... I don't know why it isn't. Looks super good but oh no! You can wear it only 5% of the time. What os the logic behind that?
ya cause sadly tailoring has both up hill climb of point spending as its BOTH gathering points must be spent to get the cloth to drop b 4 you can even start making anything. Same with enchanting both have the proff is spit with gather trates like they have 100% regen source like herbing or mining.
Deftness, perception and finesse are the stats for gathering professions. If I recall Perception means chance at getting rarer items when gathering something, Finesse is Speed of gathering and Deftness is additional items from a node. The phials are to increase those stats for a set amount of time.
I need a guild that can just tell me what to make, Sells them, and takes a cut. I don't bother figuring out AH or Orders to be honest. Navigating all the Mats and Talent paths is all I have time for, or Patience for tbh.
How the FUDGE do you get every knowledge point in professions? I have been playing DF since it cam out, and I think I have 85 total knowledge points so far. lol
i hate the new crafting so much i didnt play for months and i feel like i missed out on so much crafting knowlage that i cant compete. And while i was leveling i dumbped all my crafing knowelge into stuff that seemed intresting not into the correct things beliving i could reset it anyways like tallents. and when i realised i couldnt i didnt want to switch profesions cuz of sunken costs. This feels so bad to play with
As far as capital goes, i would just honestly go around and pick up the tuskar boxes. Plenty of them in the world, don't need a shovel and they have 100's of gold in just vendor items. Not to mention fish, islefins go for about 120g each as well.
What does getting to 100 in your crafting profession actually do for you? Seems like it's pretty irrelevant after about 50, so maybe I'm missing something...
Crafting orders are really fast and simple rather than playing the auction house. Somebody ALWAYS needs a signet of titanic insight crafting/recrafting, lariat, torc, weapons etc etc. Spec in to being able to make BiS items
ya in dragonflight as someone thats been running all classes dps & every proff, the proff had to be ignored as its IMPOSSABLE to do compared to all patches, even did the proff tools in BFA but Dragonflights proff system is ANTI alt, its just can't be done & keep 16 toons geared via LFR. Its just too tedious¯\_(ツ)_/¯
This game and the proc chances hate me. In season1 inspiration procces so few times that i made up to 300k loss per crafting session eventho i was supposed to make profit. I tried my hands on the versa flasks today and crafting sim tells me that the craft is 14g profit/craft. I bought a bunch of mats and the expected profit for that session was 2,8k gold and i made 3k loss on that... I just want some crafts that guarantee profit..
Is it even worth trying now if someone has to switch to Alchemy and compete against everyone that has already maxed out their knowledge points? This crafting setup is just too ridiculous and complicated, and I hope it goes away in the next expansion.
@@UltimateGamerCC - spoiler alert, it probably will since Bliz rarely holds anything over past one expansion. Thank the gods for that, because this system is fucked. They can find a way to make professions matter without making it a math nightmare.

The "Simulate Knowledge Distribution" button has been greyed out for me since the patch. Is it the same for y'all?
you have to be in the simulation mode to use this button
Thank you Hazel, for the great video :)
NO ONE HAS EXPLAINED : what exactly the 3 phials of deftness, perception, & finesse do to crafting. what phial does what to what stat.
Deftness, perception and finesse are the stats for gathering professions. If I recall Perception means chance at getting rarer items when gathering something, Finesse is Speed of gathering and Deftness is additional items from a node. The phials are to increase those stats for a set amount of time.
Thanks for the info, hopefully i'll be able to pay for Diablo 4 with these advices
How did you manage to get your avatar to wear both glasses and a hat?
Hat's a Prof item and the Glasses are a mog.
@@UltimateGamerCC Ah, cheers.
So is alchemy the best money maker?
I need a guild that can just tell me what to make, Sells them, and takes a cut. I don't bother figuring out AH or Orders to be honest. Navigating all the Mats and Talent paths is all I have time for, or Patience for tbh.
Kira and her ice cube 😄❤
Craftsim gives 300 lua errors in 20 seconds "attempt to index global ProfessionsFrame a nil value" ... am I doing something wrong
thats because of the new patch, it was recently updated to fix this bug tho!
@@derfloh205 OK cheers
How the FUDGE do you get every knowledge point in professions? I have been playing DF since it cam out, and I think I have 85 total knowledge points so far. lol
i hate the new crafting so much i didnt play for months and i feel like i missed out on so much crafting knowlage that i cant compete. And while i was leveling i dumbped all my crafing knowelge into stuff that seemed intresting not into the correct things beliving i could reset it anyways like tallents. and when i realised i couldnt i didnt want to switch profesions cuz of sunken costs. This feels so bad to play with
i have everything on phials maxed out and dont have a single profitable recipe
What are your thoughts about using TSM (Trade Skill Master) instead of Auctionator?
I crossed 15 million gold this week so now I’m on to 20 million.
As far as capital goes, i would just honestly go around and pick up the tuskar boxes. Plenty of them in the world, don't need a shovel and they have 100's of gold in just vendor items. Not to mention fish, islefins go for about 120g each as well.
thats a seriously huge amount of information for my tiny newbie brain lol
You can also get one more skill point from the appropriate rare in Forbidden Reach.
yeah and the prices for the purples to summon them are typically dirt cheap in the AH
What does getting to 100 in your crafting profession actually do for you? Seems like it's pretty irrelevant after about 50, so maybe I'm missing something...
Skill matters for higher quality, so higher skill means higher chances when trying to proc items that have a high recipe difficulty.
@@cschou83 Only if you're planning on spamming the trade chat with your services all day long, otherwise you can't sell shit
Show us ur longboi mount
I would love to get into gold-making through professions more, but it sounds like you *need* addons to really understand how to profit from it...
Blacksmithing has a purple tool, too...
Im just gonna spend an hour and a half of work on a WoW token then AH flip. May buy a token per 3 months. But i am doing herbalism
mine is multicraft and enchant with resoursefull.
the only problem i have is at this point your no playing WoW but a broker sim
Gracias
i havnt profitable recipe :(
i sell mats, run races and do WQs/Weekly stuff.
*cries in Leatherworking*
that's where you go to Skinning and max Trophy Collector super fast, then farm the Rockfang Den just north of the Shikarr camp. XD
So someone who plays an alchemist wants us to buy potions on the auction house so that we can make money too.
Yea, the cabal is clearly after you mate :V
Give us your money
my brain cannot comprehend
Is it even worth trying now if someone has to switch to Alchemy and compete against everyone that has already maxed out their knowledge points?
This crafting setup is just too ridiculous and complicated, and I hope it goes away in the next expansion.
spoiler alert, it wont. people want professions to matter. if you ducking out, then just profit selling mats.
@@UltimateGamerCC - spoiler alert, it probably will since Bliz rarely holds anything over past one expansion. Thank the gods for that, because this system is fucked. They can find a way to make professions matter without making it a math nightmare.
@@DerekScottBland obviously you havent been noticing that Blizz hasnt been like Blizz usually is this whole damn expansion.
@@UltimateGamerCC - I'd bookmark this and come back to rub it in your face when the next expansion comes out and this system is gone, but we both know you wouldn't have the courage to admit you were wrong.
Bliz never holds on to these things because the longer they stick around, the more complicated they become. Simple as that.
@@DerekScottBland go ahead, bruh! bookmark it then, and if i'm wrong i'll eat crow. but if YOU'RE wrong, then you have to admit to ME that YOU were wrong and I was right. cya next November in 11.0! >:)
idk why but simcraft always shows my profit is 0
YOU CAN CRAFT GOLD NOW???
