I'll show it to my son and my daughter and tell them both that they deserve to be respected and have a responsibility to be respectful and let them see the beauty of self-respect.
I worked in domestic violence prevention for 12 years and have danced my entire life. I never imagined these two things intersecting in such a positive and profound way. I have never been more hopeful about the change I see happening... Thank you for capturing this beautiful event. I danced with my husband, Michael, and our 7 year old daughter, Ava. We'll be there again on V-Day in SF!
All I wanted to do in the first place was make sure what feminism actually is was understood. Feminism is not about hating men or blaming all men at all. I came to this page to watch the video above and appreciate the fact that these women are speaking out. It is truly an amazing thing they are doing.
I have watched this over and over....crying with hope and joy. Thank you for this fabulous video. I led my class in this dance today and tomorrow will dance with moms and daughters in my neighborhood. May the entire world feel this LOVE!
Dancing to protest violence against women and hopefully not only on this day. One day we will hopefully all be dancing to celebrate zero violence against women! Great video!
What a joy to participate in this brilliant One Billion Rising celebration at the Roe v Wade Anniversary celebration in San Francisco. Wonderful! Thank you, Magalie!
Our agency in Livermore will also be having a Rising! We are so excited to see the amazing unity this movement has produced all over the world and even more jazzed to see this great flash mob from SF! I will have been at Tri-Valley Haven, which is a domestic violence shelter and rape crisis center, for 12 years in April and it heartens me beyond words to see this huge rising on behalf of all women! :)
Our hearts and intentions can change the world. This has moved me in an infusion of vibrant strength. Oh Ladies, you make the world a better place! Thank You! ♥
Just type in One billion rising Noosa. And you'll see me at the back waving a sign around. I'm easy to see. I'm tall and a guy and have aviators on. It was an honour to do this ladies, thank you all around the world. We can make a difference :)
Wonderful to see the generations together to break the chain of violence in the world through dance and song, touch the heart and soul of peace and the freedom to be ... Of Great Beauty! .
I cried when it started, then I felt empowered and happy that we are taking positive action in the world, every time we dance in joy, or are kind. And with our dance in Sarasota on Valentine's Day. Remember, do not fight against something, but use that as the starting point to focus on what we want to create. We are moving together to create a beautiful world.
Thankfully 1 Billion Women Rising is happening in my lifetime. At age nine, I was molested, raped by my stepfather. I was terrified. I was abandoned & betrayed by my own mother, fragile & dependent. I'm no longer alone. I see, I'm surrounded by all girls & women. My body, my spirit, my voice reclaimed!
beautiful!!Thank you!! I'm Japanese. I'm victim a rape & sexual abuse from my father. I'd like to remember and dance^^ I want Break the chain !!I'm free!! I'd like to change!!
I sincerely thank you. I am happy and tears can’t stop. I had a dream someday to dance Break the chain. But 2017 2/14 that dream came true. I was able to dance Break the chain, I was happy and my tears did not stop(;_;)We were misused for rape. I was persecuted for 18 years. Am I not bad? not embarrassing? Is not dirty? Do not you have to hide?I have no mother. You are my mother and sister!! I’m grateful that I met you.Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Important you
saoka rei I broke the chain too this year on international womens day! We have celebrated in heart together my dear! And Yes, I needed to hide. But now not any more. I even made a documentaire for our gouvernement about is and I am studing gender and diversity in hope to make a change. I was only 11 and it was my mental disordered mother her newest boyfriend who raped me for over 2 years and aftwerwards my mother loved to egypt and tried to give us away as child-brides to get money for her alcohol. Together we stand strong my love and you have a friend who nows What it s like very far away in the small country called Belgium
Dear Carolien Vekemans Thanks for the message!I am sorry to say without your permission. But I can’t forgive Mother her newest boyfriend. The act is human trafficking. I was sexually abused by my father from 4 years old to 27 years old. My mother does not save me, ignore me, and shout at me shouts "Do not take my husband away!!" Five years have been protected by welfare. My parents are looking for me. Right now, I am 32 years old. My dream is a social worker. I want to help those who suffer from trafficking in persons, sexual abuse, rape. I am studying every day to become a social worker. I am proud of you.And you are my dream.Thank you for staying alive so far.
I loved this. I think it's beautiful and amazing too see sooo many women coming together. I wish I could participate but I wont be able to. :( i bought a shirt though!
Espectacular! Uno de los modelos claves para la libre expresión de la supervivencia de las mujeres y la necesidad de poner fuera lo que llevamos dentro. Increible!! Las aplaudo por esto
you are so great it makes me cry loves from germany bettina, 59 years, sitting in a damn wheelchair because of abuse and violence 54 years ago. kisses to all you women :-*
I know that many men think that they are the crowning achievement! But the truth is that we men can't even come close to the majesty of a mother! It is the love of a mother for her child that is the most sublime thing in this world and what comes closest to God! The only job of us men is to protect this connection! I am what you call a strong man and I would never raise my hand to a woman, every real man was raised by a queen
Beatiful video thanks for who is creator, it give inspiring for us to take time for campaign to eradicate woman vioence..togather we can change the world...cheer...keep fighting
It is a beautiful start, and of course I support it fully.I have a wife that I love and two wonderful daughters.May I please request that we take next logical step, because I believe the western women have the power to send a WAR ENDING shot around the world!I suggest a NO WAR WEDNESDAY STAND IN PROTEST.Take your lunch hour to stand in front of whatever building or residence you choose to protest innocent lives lost from war around the globe.A show of bodies,a demonstration of unity and caring
Let's put an end to the circle of violence against women and girls. Together we can make a difference and change the world. We have a lot to do #OneBillionRising Bianca Jagger
Hi Nathalie, I tried many times to reply to you, but it would not post. So I try again. I danced in Sarasota, FL and it was wonderful! Joy and Beauty to you!
Feminism: The advocacy of women's rights on the grounds of political, social, and economic equality to men. In other words, all feminism stands for is for NO ONE(both women AND men) should be discriminated based on gender. That is what being a feminist stands for.
I see plenty of comments saying that this approach to the issue ignores men. Make a dance video raising awareness of violence against men then. I'll watch it. I enjoyed this video.
We're dancing it this year I just wanted to know what this was about its about women space abuse and more please take care of your body I've been trough this but I was strong
Over 30 Bay Area groups came together with this great Flash Mob to Celebrate Women Life and Liberty on Jan. 26 2013, and to honor the 40th Anniversay of Roe v Wade. See more photos and info about the event at the Trust Women/Silver Ribbon Campaign site!
good for you. Raise Auzzie male consciousness. True strength is in being vulnerable. Men's sacred duty and responsability is to protect woman so she can create beauty, life, connection, love, relationships,
Well, I can't dance to save my life, but you can bet I will support this movement however I can. I'm a man, but I agree with the woman at 00:00:49 in this video: WE ARE SACRED. All life is sacred, doesn't matter what sex you are, who you do or don't pray to, whether you're born or not. I wish I could speak for the entire male gender; but I can't. In this world, there are sheep, wolves, and sheepdogs. I'm a sheepdog: it's my job to protect as many as I can. STOP PREDATION NOW.
Beautiful and POWERFUL!!! To TheCivilDisobedient, the statement is that "one in three women will be raped OR beaten." I'm not sure how the numbers are factored in but do take into consideration all the sex trafficking that is forced upon young girls who have yet to blossom and really learn who and what they are all about. You do have a point about stigmatizing men.
I'll show it to my son and my daughter and tell them both that they deserve to be respected and have a responsibility to be respectful and let them see the beauty of self-respect.

You are right. We are so out of balance.
The uman intelligence is fantastic for the Planet and for The Umans.
I am a survivor of Narcissistic abuse and violence! I was also raped when I was younger! No more abuse! Enough is enough!
I see plenty of comments saying that this approach to the issue ignores men. Make a dance video raising awareness of violence against men then. I'll watch it. I enjoyed this video.

Is it just me or did anyone else just read "billion" and "flash mob" and clicke on this video thinking it was a billion people doing a flash mob?
