In my experience, buying from Singapore is like buying from Japan: extreme attention to detail, shipping times that can be measured in hours after ordering, and a willingness to answer any question you might have. I think that both Japan and Singapore have a cultural tradition of treating business transactions very personally which translates to phenomenal service.
I have used Amazon quite a few times for watch purchases here in the UK and also from the Amazon Global Store in the USA, as you advised I have always checked the reviews and the sellers before pressing the button on any purchases, so far I have had no problems with any of my purchases and as you quite rightly said Amazon have a good returns policy and extra protection for the purchaser. Thanks for this good information that everyone should know when purchasing online. Keep up the good work TGV.

Gnomon is amazing, I have bought multiple watches from them and even had them get a replacement bezel! Customer service is great, just keep in mind they are half a day behind due to their location.
I'll chime in with my 2 cents to give my recommendations for Gnomon. Been down to their physical store(s) in Singapore (they moved from their original location & I've been staying in Singapore for almost 30 years). I trust them explicitly, bar none, to do my battery change for my beloved Marathon JSAR, nobody does a better job. When aforementioned JSAR was running slow, they spent the better part of 2 days diagnosing the problem, taking it apart to clean it out and it only cost me the same price of a battery change. Highly recommended, 2 thumbs up!
Jeffrey Reardon it’s the OVM 39(Ocean Vintage Military). Uses an ETA 2824, 47 lug-lug, perfect sized, with domed Sapphire AR coating...nice vintage lume, 20mm bracelet, only complaint is a very stiff bezel, otherwise perfect
I can personally attest to this! Along with attentive service, the key to buying watches is a vendor with QUALITY CONTROL. Many vendors can't (or won't) check items they sell. Marc won't let a watch not up to standards end up in a customer's hands...Seiko fans who loathe misaligned chapter rings can appreciate this attention to QC!

I've had nothing but great experience all the times I've bought from gnomon and same with Amazon. Though I woul stay away from the higher end stuff on amazon and go to an ad for that but hamilton, seiko, stuff like that I have no problem buying from amazon

Excellent Jiffy TGV! Amazons return policy on watches is excellent (at least here in the UK) - I have received full refunds BEFORE they have even received the watch back. This seems to be for watches that they themselves fulfil AND for watches supplied by other sellers. Just use their returns label (which is linked to the post office system so they know its posted) easy as that!

I brought [for the first time] from Gnomon Steinhart Ocean 39 GMT, no issues at all. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again. It was packaged extremely well and arrived on time and undamaged at my home address in Spain. Keep up the good work, I really enjoy your channel. Oh by the way I love my watch an excellent purchase.
Gnomon is great. They have a lot of exclusives like the Squale Onda series, and their shipping is INSANELY fast. Amazon on the other hand DOES repackage and resell used items as new. I've had that happen to me - bought two B+W camera lens filters from Amazon themselves *not* a third party reseller which is usually where you run into problems. One was perfect, the other was *obviously* used prior - missing the case seal, dirty filter, someone's hair in the case.
I bought some insoles from Amazon and they seemed flat and lacked support. I flipped them over and laid them next to the older ones I'd gotten at a brick and mortar store. The Amazon insoles were cut really crazy and even had a weird line around them like a stencil. Even with a stencil they were cut all off center. The fonts were different too for the branding. My little nephew would have probably cut them out better than whoever made them lol

I’ve bought a few watches from Amazon, and so far, so good. Never tried the other site. I agree, never buy an expensive watch online. It’s better to see it in the flesh from an AD.
Wouldn't bother ordering from Gnomon if you are based in the UK. Have ordered twice in the last few months and both watches have been held at UK customs and returned to Singapore.
Can definitely endorse your view on Gnomon watches. Have visited their shop in Singapore. Lovely store, friendly and knowledgeable people. Wouldn’t hesitate to buy from them again. You can see from the brands they sell how enthusiastic they are about watches. Enjoy their instagram entries too.

I ordered a Bulova Special EditionLunar Pilot 98A186 from The Watchery, last week. It's real and new, etc, but it came in a half assed box with only one little booklet for some generic instructions. No warranty card, no tags, not even a plastic film piece on the lens. I'll keep it, it's flawless, but there's something very sketchy about these companies. I checked out Gnomon and joined. Thanks for info TGV. I learned something new today!
Have to say I've bought nearly all my watches online. From Amazon and Creationwatches. The prices are more affordable. Also certainly here in the UK most of the jewellers and watch shops sell the same fashion brand or "fashion" oriented designs of the main makes, so you just can't get to see or handle them. I've used Creationwatches from Singapore a number of times and never had an issue. The import and VAT fees can add 30% to the price but that's not the companies fault. That's the price for living in the UK and EU. Great video as always sir 👍
saw this video in 2021! Very excited to see Gnomon was a legit place to make purchases! They had the best prices on Squale watches and I have been trying to get my hands on the Squale Heritage and unfortunately I couldn't find it anywhere except Gnomon and now i feel a bit more confident to pull the trigger. I am new to the watch community so I dont know what to look for with shops so this helps!

I once bought two (supposedly) new Hamilton watches on Amazon from a third-party seller. One arrived looking used (tarnished case, bashed-up box, dog-eared manual) and the other had a minute hand so loosely fitted that it spun around like a windmill, having zero connection to the movement. I immediately sent them back for a refund and submitted a very negative review which Amazon said they could not publish without giving a specific reason! That's the one and only time I'll buy a watch from a third-party seller on Amazon.
I ordered from Gnomon and have nothing but good things to say about them. They shipped to my hotel in Hong Kong and had great and fast customer service.

I bought 75% of my collection on line, only my Hulk , Pepsi and Omega from original stores. But i heard once that one person was scammed with purchase from a jeweller with fake Patek earlier this year here in Toronto. Im traveling to Japan next month and looking forward to pick up some rare Grand Seiko and maybe something alse
I myself have bought 2 of my 4 Squale watches from Gnomon. Perfectly safe. Answered all my questions quickly, shipped the day after I ordered, and only took 3 days from Singapore to where I live in the US. I'd rate them and Zelos as my two best places to buy watches from a price and customer service and shipping speed standpoint. Conversely, one of my Squale buys, my Lionshark, came from eBay.....and it was a bloody nightmare! Mexican seller who didn't do the paperwork properly and it got hung up for several days at FedEx Nashville. Obviously got it straightened out, but eBay can be hit and miss.....as it can be with Amazon. Buyer beware.
Gnomon is definitely a proper brick and mortar shop here in Singapore. Their address is on their website (millennia walk shopping centre). Been there many times, bought straps from them.
Gnomon are legit and a very proffesional, they have nice little shop in Millenia Walk Close to the Promenade MRT station in Singapore, Singapore is is a great and really fun place to buy watches, legit stores, taxes refunded when you go and a huge selection of shops in a modern, clean city, with great food and a superb transport network.

I've bought virtually ALL of my watches off of amazon... From Citizen to Seiko to Orient... NEVER had a single issue and they come in at a fantastic price. I think the grey Market is a fantastic place to buy watches especially if you are a bit short on cash.

Gnomon great watch shop ,I've been to their shop several times in Singapore they are in a fairly upmarket mall. I purchased a Dievas watch off them,similar to a Panerai Californian dial. Proper guys Etc.....
I’ve had mixed results with buying Seikos off of Amazon. I’ve had a good quality Turtle that works spot on, but I’ve also bought a Samurai with a faulty bezel, and two Padi Solar Tunas in a row with bezels that froze up, so take advantage of the return policy. On the other hand, I bought an SKX and a SARB035 off of Long Island Watch, and they were both spot on. It really just comes down to which vendor is best suited for a particular brand.
I've bought many watches off Amazon with no issues. I do however stick to watches where Amazon is the actual seller, except when I bought a Vostok. However I'd much rather give Long Island Watch my business when they have what I'm looking for.
Gnomon is legit, they have a nice showroom here in Singapore. Point to note though, their sell their Seiko 5s at abit of a premium price compared to other sellers. Do recommend checking their showroom out when you visit Singapore.
Heard Gnomon has multiple stores in Singapore. They're a high end watch store. They do special editions, just ordered a Steinhart 39 military from them.

I bought my Max Bill 34mm from Amazon. Turned out to be great. Whew! Lol. That Oris skeleton I almost bought but ended up getting a pre-owned Hamilton Jazzmaster open heart from Jared at grey market prices. Gnomon sounds interesting. ADs always give you that sense of security.

One thing a consumer can receive from Amazon is a quartz watch with a dead battery. It's typical to see that complaint in the Amazon reviews..
That can happen from an actual shop as well if stock has been sitting for a long time. No big deal.

I once bought two (supposedly) new Hamilton watches on Amazon from a third-party seller. One arrived looking used (tarnished case, bashed-up box, dog-eared manual) and the other had a minute hand so loosely fitted that it spun around like a windmill, having zero connection to the movement. I immediately sent them back for a refund and submitted a very negative review which Amazon said they could not publish without giving a specific reason! That's the one and only time I'll buy a watch from a third-party seller on Amazon.
I ordered from Gnomon and have nothing but good things to say about them. They shipped to my hotel in Hong Kong and had great and fast customer service.

I bought 75% of my collection on line, only my Hulk , Pepsi and Omega from original stores. But i heard once that one person was scammed with purchase from a jeweller with fake Patek earlier this year here in Toronto.
Im traveling to Japan next month and looking forward to pick up some rare Grand Seiko and maybe something alse
I myself have bought 2 of my 4 Squale watches from Gnomon. Perfectly safe. Answered all my questions quickly, shipped the day after I ordered, and only took 3 days from Singapore to where I live in the US. I'd rate them and Zelos as my two best places to buy watches from a price and customer service and shipping speed standpoint. Conversely, one of my Squale buys, my Lionshark, came from eBay.....and it was a bloody nightmare! Mexican seller who didn't do the paperwork properly and it got hung up for several days at FedEx Nashville. Obviously got it straightened out, but eBay can be hit and miss.....as it can be with Amazon. Buyer beware.

Gnomon is definitely a proper brick and mortar shop here in Singapore. Their address is on their website (millennia walk shopping centre). Been there many times, bought straps from them.

I'm surprised you didn't touch on eBay dealers. I've gotten great deals on pre-owned timepieces on there. Great video as always.

Gnomon are legit and a very proffesional, they have nice little shop in Millenia Walk Close to the Promenade MRT station in Singapore, Singapore is is a great and really fun place to buy watches, legit stores, taxes refunded when you go and a huge selection of shops in a modern, clean city, with great food and a superb transport network.

I've bought virtually ALL of my watches off of amazon... From Citizen to Seiko to Orient... NEVER had a single issue and they come in at a fantastic price. I think the grey Market is a fantastic place to buy watches especially if you are a bit short on cash.

Gnomon great watch shop ,I've been to their shop several times in Singapore they are in a fairly upmarket mall. I purchased a Dievas watch off them,similar to a Panerai Californian dial. Proper guys Etc.....
I’ve had mixed results with buying Seikos off of Amazon. I’ve had a good quality Turtle that works spot on, but I’ve also bought a Samurai with a faulty bezel, and two Padi Solar Tunas in a row with bezels that froze up, so take advantage of the return policy. On the other hand, I bought an SKX and a SARB035 off of Long Island Watch, and they were both spot on. It really just comes down to which vendor is best suited for a particular brand.
I've bought many watches off Amazon with no issues. I do however stick to watches where Amazon is the actual seller, except when I bought a Vostok. However I'd much rather give Long Island Watch my business when they have what I'm looking for.
Gnomon is an AD, and has an actual store in Singapore. They're a delight to deal with.
Gnomon is legit, they have a nice showroom here in Singapore. Point to note though, their sell their Seiko 5s at abit of a premium price compared to other sellers. Do recommend checking their showroom out when you visit Singapore.

Heard Gnomon has multiple stores in Singapore. They're a high end watch store. They do special editions, just ordered a Steinhart 39 military from them.
Nope. They only have one store in Singapore. I live in Singapore by the way and I've been to their store a few times. Even bought my first Steinhart from them 😉

I bought my Max Bill 34mm from Amazon. Turned out to be great. Whew! Lol. That Oris skeleton I almost bought but ended up getting a pre-owned Hamilton Jazzmaster open heart from Jared at grey market prices. Gnomon sounds interesting. ADs always give you that sense of security.
