Best actress ever, she has such a natural class, she reminds me of my mom in a way...how she conducts herself with that ease that you are born with and can't learn. Her english is just so cute, I love her accent!
For my money, the greatest film actress ever (sorry Meryl). Never saw an untrue moment from her, either emotionally or otherwise. There was always an inner life which meant she was experiencing, not indicating (again, emotional truth). And like all the great film actors, she was a great listener which in turn made her reactions honest & true.
For Ingrid to act in English so masterfully when she could barely speak it when she arrived in Hollywood shows how talented she was. You have absolutely no idea that this was the case when you watch her.
Is that The Right Honourable Adrienne Clarkson under all that hair?! Nice do :-) And a fantastic '70s dress and necklace combo on Ingrid, bravo as usual, she was a true beauty. Just a guess on the era. I do love the Retrobites, but wish you'd add the date. Thanks!
Funny thing is in one biography Selznick is quoted as having told his son when his son complained about the father ripping off via loan-out fees `Well actors like Ingrid Bergman have to re-pay fees allotted for plastic surgery`. If you look at the films she did in Sweden and perhaps for Ufa you`ll see the nose and the teeth were shortened.

Still beautiful in 1971.

Ingrid Bergman was a great actress and a lovely person
just loved her
She still looked beautiful in later life
She's way too beautiful here... And as classy and elegant as always.
One of the three best actresses of all time, no doubt about that
Bells of Saint Mary's was my favourite of hers.
