In the video titled "Exciting Roles within Supply Chain " you had told that if you like six sigma and all then u shud go into planning but for the same reason in this video you have recommended to go in manufacturing operations
Manufacturing planning as well as operations or best suited to use a lean six Sigma tools. But certainly the operations roles would demand routine usage of these tools.

In Manufacturing operations, we have planning, process and execution roles. Basically all these roles focus on sourcing raw material and converting to finished goods.
Another question: If I get a masters degree in supply chain and procurment management and then work for a couple of years in the procurement (supply)department, how is it possible to transition into a process improvement position( manufacturing )since the two are very different in the nature of the job ? Is there anything needed to learn in order to make that transition ?
