I love how open u are to everyone's differences. Because I was pressured not to wash my hair unless its been two weeks or longer when I first went natural. Bruh .... It was so itchy and fizzy. my hair does better when I wash every 3 days if I have time or 1 time a week. Hot oil treatments saved my life ❤❤
Breona a lot don’t know how much pressure we have to face when it comes to our body. I always say listen to yourself and do whatever is right for you. Our hair is naturally dry & hydration plays a key role. Hot oil treatments are definitely my fav also
Yesterday I took down a sew in and I sprayed my hair with aloe Vera juice and sealed it with an oil and left it in for about 2 hours then I shampooed and deep conditioned and I tried your finger coil method and left it in overnight my hair barely shed and it was so soft. And I used the eden bodyworks leave in and the two kids products from them you use my definition is crazy. Thank you for your videos 💕
You are literally the first natural I have come across, who has high porosity. I have fine, dry, high porosity hair, as well (spongy type). Every natural I have viewed have said low porosity.
Your hair is so gorgeous. And you are so right about having clean hair. A clean canvas allows no blockages and nothing to inhibit moisture getting in. I definitely have to have clean hair in order for it to stay moisturized and not look so dull. Great advice!

Right! I have found that less is far more for us low-po girls. For example, after cleansing/conditioning, I only use a leave-in and oil, or a moisturizer and oil and that’s it; or sometimes only an oil. And then sometimes I apply a little Shea Butter to my ends only. Once you get the moisture in, it will stay in for a long time. Heat and warm water is a definite need! No cold water rinses. And try to limit proteins and silicones that can cause buildup. The absolute best is using Ayurvedic herbs and clays! Talk about life-changing!
I had a white friend who used to deep condition her hair over a whole weekend. She constantly colored her hair and it was growing like a weed. I never thought much of that until this video. But it makes sense. The more processes you put your hair through the more you need to take care and deep condition
I've been searching for you for 2 months I was about to give up on being natural because maintaining moisture is a major issue. My hair is super thick. Thank you for sharing.

How can I achieve moisture without my hair being greasy. I experience breakage with a greasy scalp that’s why I wash my hair every week. Also I have low porosity, medium density with fine strands
@ 5:09 Girl!!! I feel ya' on this. Too cute...lol @ 7:45 Yes Ma'am, your hair game is on point! I recently came across your hair tutorials and I must say, I have observed and learned a lot from you (simple stuff). Your hair is extremely lustrous, hydrated, and defined. Simply, gorgeous. You have your regimen on lock and you definitely know what she wants. Thank you very much for sharing your insight, experience, techniques and experience with us. You have a new subscriber.
I workout everyday and refresh after 3/4 days with either flat twists or high puff and a little aloe, coconut oil. Is that bad? I try not to manipulate too much, I have high porosity with fine 3c/4a hair, with the same problem with my crown.
Yea cuz I work out I cant last a whole week and I always felt pressured by the natural community cuz they be talking about "I only wash my hair once a month " like bruh what
Breona the midweek cowash helps me if I don’t have time I just rinse my hair. If not the sweat makes my hair crusty and feels gross. Ain’t no shame. I was never one to go more than a week without a wash to begin with. I’m prone to acne and it’s a recipe of disaster.
Shaina Benjamin Same! When I started working out, I started cowashing midweek. I had to cleanse my hair of sweat and dirt, otherwise I'd have a dry, tangled birds nest on my head. My hair loves the additional moisture and hydration as well.
Sis pls dont judge me but I workout 5 days a week doing high intensity and heavy weights. I wash my hair every 2 weeks. I DC when I wash and use a heavy OLC method. Drinking alot of water helps immensely that's what keeps your scalp hydrated oiling your scalp is an addition. My hair grows like weeds. I have LP hair. I use to wash every 3 to 4 days and was constantly manipulating my hair. WTH was I thinking lmbo
Your hair is gorgeous. I would like to ask if you have a the problem but my roots seem as if takes the products as well as the strands of my hair. Now I just started deep conditioning after I saw your video. Do you think this will change overtime of my hair getting used to deep conditioning?
Thank you love. Everyone has different textures so the results when your hair is at its best and fully moisturized may not look like mine. My roots are naturally straight when properly moist. When your hair is fully wet and deep conditioned if the roots aren’t straight or lay flat moist likely that’s just how it will always be (naturally & healthy)
@@NekiCakes So I have to tell you because I am so excited but I did a clay wash for the 1st and then deep conditioned for my second tim as you instructed in your video and honey my hair is loving it (soft and manageable and roots are beginning to straightened) . I switched to Eden Bodyworks products they are amazing. Thank you for your tips and I am a friend bc I deep condition lol. Be blessed and thanks again for your help.
I now do 5 days every 5 days I wash my hair I used to wash it every Wednesday 7-8 days but my hair be very dry before my next wash so I cut it down a lot to just see but it lasts to the fifth day which it does so I just decided to just keep it on the fifth day and so far and so on I really haven’t had a problem with my hair being dry since I don’t give no time to be dry cause it’s just like I just did it three days ago you know so that’s good enough for me lol i’m on my hair growth journey. Also is the reason why I changed my wash day so yeah and I wash my hair and for sections and since I’m wearing my wig which also helps me to grab my hair too as well so I don’t have to do anything to my natural hair and I could just constantly just keep them in those for braid you know, when I get out my brush and braid it into those four plaits and put my button on and whenever I go somewhere, i just pop my wig on
Hey! I really enjoyed that. Thanks for sharing! I would love to see your wash day and moisture routine! I'm gonna have to check out your other videos! Blessings to you ☺
Do u spray warm water on your hair b4 applying products? The warm water will open the cuticle of low porosity hair and allow moisture from the products to penetrate better. Or u can warm up the products a lil bit with a bowl of hot water
Wow!! I have 4c type hair which appears to have no curl pattern most of the time...and dry. What you've said at 2:09 - 2:14 is exactly what I experience; and thought stretching my hair over long periods of time would help. I will try washing my hair every 7 to 10 days.
I’m low-po, fine 4abc strands, A TRUE STUGGLE!! The front & nape is 4a/b, the crown & remainder is 4b/c. Higher porosity towards my hairline. I shampoo every week, & I eliminated Co-washing & I add honey to my conditioner. I’m really afraid to try rice water, is it like a protein treatment? I don’t do well w/those but peoples results are great. I feel like you can help me a lot even through we have different textures ❣️ New subbie
kyle marshall Thank you, and yes rice water is a strengthener but that doesn’t mean you can use it, just not as often as most. You can use it as a rinse before you deep condition since you’re low porosity.
Do you have a video on prepooing? I mean what’s the point of putting aloe vera juice on the hair and then a hot oil if you’re going to clean your scalp with the shampoo just afterwards??
There’s a brunch on my channel. The point is when you have dry hair why shampoo to strip any bit of moisture then the hair gets tangled then unnecessary hair shed. Prepoo conditions the hair to help ease when cleansing so the hair comes out softer.
I don't know about high porosity or low porosity. What I do know is that my hair is spongy and like cotton super frizzy. It loves water and it behaves best when I co-wash every other day, layer conditioner and oil to seal. Problem is the defined look doesn't last.
Noni Dorsey it seems that you know a lot about your hair, all you need now is figuring out if your high to low. If you look into the definitions of porosity you will get your answer, and it seems like you could be high. High porosity soaks up moisture but can’t hold onto it for long. Deep conditioning with a hair steamer is a great tool for frizzy dry hair. Hair can get clogged easy, Try less cowashing, add prepoo to your regimen & shampoo sometimes. Be mindful of the ingredients you are using to moisturize. A leave-in, hair milk, setting lotion/mousse,defining/curl Cremes, natural brand gels work great for our hair
fantastic tips my hair is super dry and i dont wash it much maybe once a month twice if I'm not lazy lol sad i know but i noticed my hair grows pretty good the less i wash but I do want to get in the habit of washing more to retain more moisture
Oh my God 🥺❣️ you're a blessing like how are our views so on per? I deep condition over night cause 30mins don't do squat for me and we have the same curl type plus I'm low po as well. I never not wash my hair under a shower head that is the KEY✨ to elongation, defrizzing and shiny hair. My hair used to look 4c and super frizzy till I learnt how to deal with my hair type and porosity, also knowing your products and how best your hair likes them being applied is very important. Awesome video as always, I'm curious your old chebe video inspired me to try chebe so I just ordered... Do you still use chebe in your routine?
@@NekiCakes Ah okay thanks for responding, I just use it in a butter then use the actual powder on my ends alone. Please can you show how you trim and maintain healthy ends? Plus how you keep your hair styled from month to month 😊🙏🏼
@@maneattraction923 I have a few videos on my yearly trims (I only do it once a year) but if I have a knot or a split end I just trim that on the spot. I usually do wash n gos/buns/flat twists/chunky twists/large braids

Hi, I'm a new subbie!! You are so beautiful and your hair is beautiful. I'm so happy that I came across your video, this is exactly what I have been looking for. Thanks so much for this information and explanations.😍😘
What’s ur thoughts on pure oils silk elements I like there deep conditioner that I just tried. I have problems with frizz at my roots, my hair just won’t hang love it channel
So, if your hair is already dried out, you need to co-wash (conditioner wash) it or do a deep treatment mask on it, before you attempt to shampoo. And the only way to up keep your hair properly is to refresh it once or twice a week. I prefer "As I Am Coconut Co-wash" in stead of shampoo.
Rogue E yes but my hair wasn’t dry, I determine what I use on my hair based on how much moisture it has prior to washing. 1st If my hair is dried out prior to washing I do my prepoo then I shampoo. 2nd if it’s still moist prior to washing I deep condition then style I don’t shampoo before of after..if it’s a in between i can cowash it but I rarely do that.
For me, I can not put something on my hair that can cause product build up and not shampoo. Hence, for me, co-washing never worked with regular conditioners and deep treatments. I have to use a formulated cleanser or my hair will be gross. But, my initial comment wasn't to you. I made it in case someone come across my comment when going through the drought that I was going through a few years ago.
Rogue E Of course, as I stated in the video everyone’s hair is different finding your recipe is key. Also, I respond to the majority of the comments under my video even if it’s a suggestion, but honestly your comment came off more as a question than a suggestion.
I heard you say henna tea. Doesn’t henna changes your hair color? I used it once and it left my hair this sandy irritating red, which I hate. I’m trying to wait to dye it, because I’ve read you can’t use a dye on henna, but I’m going to. If it comes out, I will just cut it and start over, but this color has to go. I’ve been natural for about three years now. Have you heard this before and if so can you please share your thoughts.
Nadine Walker yes henna is a natural hair dye overtime with consistent use it can alter the hair color. There are different types of color henna, just have to know which color you want when buying. I don’t know much info on coloring hair that’s been henna treated. I would say research more information on it before coloring just Incase.
Supposedly regular hair dye will not work on hair that has been treated with Henna. Thats due to the fact that the henna binds to the hair strands and repels regular dyes. You can go in with Indigo powder to get the hair back black. Its a natural dye. Check out Curly Proverbs channel she has plenty of vids about henna Indigo and amla powder for dying issues.
Use Cassia. Cassia is a neutral henna. Natural henna is an awesome conditioner and strengthener. I would advise against using hennas with color in them; they are not natural and have really harsh chemicals in them. You may want to wait several weeks and then see a licensed cosmetologist who specializes in color - they may be able to help you get your color changed safely.
Henna does turn the hair reddish. If you want it to go black after you apply the Henna apply Indigo and it will turn your hair black. Theirs a few videos on henna and indigo applications.
Housewives62 thanks for sharing. It’s been about 5 months since I used henna and yes I have and up coming appointment with a hair specialist to dye it back black. I think that’s a long enough wait.
You’re hair looks so beautiful and healthy! Wow! But...that saying, “black hair, the dirtier, the better”??? 😲😱😱😱I’ve never heard that before in my life! Where do they do this?
I only use the pillow soft curls jelly on my hair and it makes my curls look great but when should i moisturize it during the week ? And how many times?

Olasoji Omotayo Thank You lové ❤️
Thank you this was the video I needed!!!💕💕🙏🏾
milanjohnson09 Thank You for watching I’m glad you enjoyed!! Xo❤️
Just Jamie Sounds like your regimen is working for you! Carry on, sis!
Your hair is so absolutely beautiful
@@ericaharris3656I am very glad to hear your results are what you wanted❤Thank you for trusting in my tips xox
Thank you advice was well needed and on point for my natural hair journey
Thank you love
Blessings to you ☺
Sha Butts Thank you !
Thank You for all that you do! Amazing advice! 😎
Thank you love 💕
Thank you for the tips!! 😍🙌🏽 I have low porosity and my hair gets dry so I’m still working on getting moisture 😫
Do u spray warm water on your hair b4 applying products? The warm water will open the cuticle of low porosity hair and allow moisture from the products to penetrate better. Or u can warm up the products a lil bit with a bowl of hot water
How did you figure out you hair was low porosity?
I love your attitude 😂❤️
Show and Tell Thank you 😊
Girl, you are hilarious! I love it!
Natasha K Thank You lové
This video was so helpful sisss 🙌🏾 thank you 🙏🏾 your hair is bomb 😍
Wow!! I have 4c type hair which appears to have no curl pattern most of the time...and dry. What you've said at 2:09 - 2:14 is exactly what I experience; and thought stretching my hair over long periods of time would help.
I will try washing my hair every 7 to 10 days.
Wow your hair is so beautiful
Thank you love
Neki Cakes thank you 💚 I will try it now
Thanks for sharing this regimen with me. I needed this so bad
PAM loving my life Thank you ❤️
You're hair is gorgeous!!!!💕💖💕🎶
I wash my hair every week or as need depending on my products ...
Her thumbnail...left side is exactly what my hair looks like!!🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️ I'm here for any and all advice on moisture.... My roots are desert dry!!😔
I love your video! Plus your hair looks like my hair type. 💓
your hair is gorgeous
How often would you recommend washing hair for low porosity hair ??
Agh, ur hair is so beautiful
fantastic tips my hair is super dry and i dont wash it much maybe once a month twice if I'm not lazy lol sad i know but i noticed my hair grows pretty good the less i wash but I do want to get in the habit of washing more to retain more moisture
Thank you love ❤️ yes I still use Chebe especially the traditional way mostly in the winter.
@@NekiCakes oh okay I searched but didn't see, maybe I just didn't work the app well. Thanks alot I wanna follow your routine to the letter! ❣️🙏🏼
@@maneattraction923 I appreciate this love, thank you! You can check my playlists I have my trim videos under one section so you don’t have to search far.
So happy I found you!
Subbing now! I love ❤️ your channel
Thank you love ❤️!
Rogue E I prefer my prepoo method.
Don't you pretty much just deep condition it. I saw you make a deep conditioner in, I think it was, your wash day video.
I wash my hair like once a week or sometimes more if my scalp is itchy
Great video, cool info, awesome job princess 👍
Anna wewinwithlove Thank you love 💕
You’re hair looks so beautiful and healthy! Wow! But...that saying, “black hair, the dirtier, the better”??? 😲😱😱😱I’ve never heard that before in my life! Where do they do this?
I only use the pillow soft curls jelly on my hair and it makes my curls look great but when should i moisturize it during the week ? And how many times?
Your skin and hair though😍
T Lindsey Thank you ❤️
This video told many truths! 😊
Healthy hair, beautiful skin, thick eyebrows....ok, I'm jealous..
Should I rinse out my hair at the end of EVERYDAY? I applied some products to style my hair. Btw i only wash my hair like two to three times a month
