Let us separate these two independent issues: (1) Land-use in the county, and (2) Developers in the county. The local government, under the governor, has jurisdiction over land-use in the county, according to the laws of Kenya. The developer who called the press conference with big flags behind him like he was a head of state seems to miss the point that no one is above the law.
The governor wants 2 acres of land for the governor's residence. Where is he currently residing if I may ask? Am sure kiambu has an office of the governor which is what kiambu people really need. This residence business is just shameful

The rich biggest fear is living among the poor. I talked to some Tatu residents and they were less worried about the governor's house. Their main concern is having thousands of poor people as neighbours. A large proportion of the land was intended for social housing and public amenities for workers, especially casual labourers
I'm a foreign investor and this is why I've been rejecting investing in Kenya. Your politicians are Vultures. This is why many investors are not coming to Kenya and many just say "go ahead and keep your country, we don't want" Corruption is a Pandemic in your country. He never come back tò Kenya but now he has un numbered Hotels in Italy & i had a priviledge of working in One of them.
