This is a great learning opportunity. The patreon materials are especially helpful, with the caged, arpeggio and scale exercises as a foundation for the solo. It's not like I haven't seen all these exercises before but it's putting these into context of an actual piece of music that I want to get under my fingers that i truly appreciate.

Thanks for the comment my friend, I’m glad you find the extra materials in this one to be useful.
As you say, I think the key to really making this stuff stick is to immediately apply it 👍🏻

It's so nice to stay inside the arpeggiated chord construct, (very country) then drop a diminished lick or arpeggio ("snazzy jazzy"), to head to the 5th, then back eventually back the tonic 'A'...
    Excellent demonstration 👍...
    Thanks ~ Inertia

Good stuff fella! I apologise for not having seen your channel before now. Ive been playing since forever, I'm now 63, and still managing to do it for a living, mostly country music, and this is the sort of playing that interests me these days - Playing to enhance the song. This sort of video is useful for players who actually play and record songs, rather than bedroom-playing purely for ourselves. We need a real musical framework to work within if we're at all serious about it. Nice one! Subscribed.

Really not alot i can add to all the other spot on comments. I will say though, you sure have a way of packing so much into a 17 minute video. Somehow without talking a mile a minute. Infact, as i said to you the first time i found your channel, your flow is smooth, thoughtful and concise.
