The GameCube had so many great games man
Bro this channel is so therapeutic and I don't know why
You can say that again what's your favorite mine's is super smash Brothers melee
BTW, is that giveaway thing you spoke about for when you started this channel still ongoing? I remember it had the benchmark of 200k subs? You're so close!
Fur real cuz
So many great games are locked on gamecube. Like Path of Radiance.
Been missing my dykg regular videos. Great that you guys are back from hackedtown.
Yes! More stuff! Thank you! I listen to dykg pretty much 24/7, and am so hyped to have a new hour of facts compilation to listen to!
Bionicle was the best product line lego ever made. crazy that it was retired. even my 6 year old is hit or miss on legos but LOVES the ball and joint type of legos.
Still one of my favorite consoles with some amazing games. This console was my life as a kid man I still have mine and play it every so often
I was working at an EBGames (That was an Electronics Boutique when I started there) and when The Wind Waker was coming out, it was the most pre-ordered game in the store up to that point. Even more than GTA : Vice City. It seemed that a few reviewers and critics disliked the less-realistic hyper-cartoony style, but largely people bought it and played it and we didn't get that many returns. To be fair, this could have just been in my store, but it was HUGE when it released.
Me and my buddy used to hang out at EB in the mall in the late 90s the dude who worked there had a imported Dreamcast and would let us play power stone and sonic hydro thunder also,we used to just hang in eb more than the arcade lol such a great time
0:36 Ayo What?! #pause #NoDiddy 😂😂
"What can be said about the GameCube that hasn't been said ... " *looks at the video length* Apparently a whole damn lot! Dayum. I'm here for it though!
Arguably my favorite console of all time! So many options to play and enjoy, a huge part of my childhood!
I did not know what to do the next hour. Thank you DYKG ❤
That sentence didn't need, a comma. It was, all one clause. lol
Yess new hour long video, I’ll be sleeping well tonight 😄
I never had a GameCube but I did have a friend who did and it was where I experienced super Mario sunshine and Kirby’s air ride for the first time, truly one of coolest Nintendo eras
Started playing Phantasy Star Online on the GameCube a month ago! Still my favorite console.
Glad to see the compilations are back.
Love learning all these small hidden facts about videogames.
I never knew how much you could do with a Gameboy and a GameCube with Wind Waker, I really wish I'd knew this as a kid. It was my favorite game and now I appreciate it even more
LOVED the Bionicle conclusion. What a nice surprise.
I'll forever love and miss my Gamecube.
This is awesome! Thank you DYKG for all your hard work. The GC was a great system. So many hidden gems 💎 😮
I love these hour long videos, makes them nice to listen to in the background while doing work
Hi DYKG, first of all a big thank you for doing so much work to feed us viewers with information ;) Thanks to you, I have been able to learn a lot about gaming and this industry. Please stay the way you are. Thank you.
This console means so much to me. So many formative memories on the GameCube.
I love these long compilation videos of facts, some of the best on TH-cam for sure
Those Bionicle comics were the shit… my old man threw mine out for some reason. 😠
The GameCube was my first self purchased console and I still am learning new things about it all the time! Thanks DYKG💖
never slept better in my life
Bust a huge load? Pause
I loved the GameCube growing up! Still have it and still love playing on it!!
Same here. Full of gems.
It’s honestly really cool to learn more and more about the history of the console that would make me fall in love with gaming and lead me the long journey of a game dev
Thanks for the facts! Gamecube was always a system i wish i could have had growing up but now as an adult I've loved digging into the amazing library it had
I love these videos. Thank you for doing this!
This is one of my favorite videos to put on while I’m working. I love the GameCube so much!
Bought my Gamecube day 1 here in the UK with Star Wars: Rogue Squadron, Super Monkey Ball and Luigi's Mansion.
I have so much love for that little box!
I did not expect so much Tingle lore.
i love that ur videos always pop up during my bed time 😭❤️
The GameCube was a powerhouse and had an amazing controller. Mine was decked out with Pokemon XD stickers. Really dig that orange one, though.
Love your work! ❤
Bionicle was my childhood!!! Loved it so much as a kid! I'd buy everything they made back in the day.
So many fun memories with the GC!
The Pokémon Colosseum music at the start of this video put a huge grin on my face. One of my favourite video game soundtracks of all time. Highly recommend Dr. Pez’ Pokémon Colosseum medley TH-cam video to any other fans of the game. Fun fact, Colosseum’s original composer Tsukasa Tawada even commented on it to praise his work!
These videos are great to have on in the background
Wow I was just rewatching Chuggaaconroy’s Pikmin 2 LP so this is good timing!!
Hahaha, I was just rewatching his Luigi's Mansion series! Small world 😊
@@Dirtnose He just started a Let's Play of Pokemon Black 2 and White 2 :D
Gale of Darkness is, to this day, one of my favorite games. I particularly love a modded version by StarsMMD called XG: NeXt Generation. Great video, guys!
The gamecube was my childhood console, I didn't have a lot of games on it but I have so many memories of playing need for speed underground with one of my closest friends. Unfortunately my ex sold it and all my games for drugs many years ago....I miss that console so much!
The windwaker facts are so cool. Its still my favorite gamecube game
I had the Purple GameCube growing up. That little box gave me a ton of fun when growing up. I would totally get another one!
Those teeny tiny discs were so sweet!
Love the story about the golf island. Wish I would find all my work done overnight.
Happy y’all got the channel back and restored
Man, the game cube was amazing. Glad it was my first and been having fun playing the old games again recently.
I am so excited for this vid
thank god you are back!
when the narrator said "now its time for something completely different" i couldn't help but laugh! i love monty python references!
God, I know it’s just the thumbnail image but it’s insane how good the Spice Orange Gamecube looked
I definitely grew up with all these games, and I just love all the different design for the original gamecube console
I remember wanting a Gamecube as a kid, because I wanted to play Twilight Princess so badly, the console always seemed so intriguing and cool to me, I'm glad to see that people still hold it in high regard.
Probably the best console ever made. Not a ton of games but so many gems and it was a beast of a machine. Just the discs didn't have much storage.
I had a ps2, but twilight princess seemed like the coolest thing in the world to me
Let's just say I'd rather play Pokemon Colleseum and XD over any of the new ones that get released today.
GameCube is one of my favorite consoles. Eternal darkness Sanity's Requiem is such an underrated game. Ooh also being able to play MGS in a Nintendo system was neat lol
I loved the cartoon style zelda, and this fact about Leon Thurman is very interesting
My nutty math brain just realized something about that Wind Waker trivia. If they had made the sea loop from one end back to the other, implying the world is round, but using a square world map.... then the world would be shaped like a donut.
Only if it doesnt loop north to south tho. If it only looped east to west youd be right.
@@devilsolution9781no, north to south would work. You'd just be moving through the donut hole and back out the other side
Tingle specialist is a producer for mario party? Makes complete sense, the team that makes them is crazy
I had alot of memories with the GC like star fox adventure pokemon, Sunshine, melee even zelda maan..
Looking at the movement between the sunk Hyrule and the Sea surface makes me think of the new Wind waker unflooded project
GameCube was the one console that was semi in my era of gaming that NO ONE I knew actually had. I never got to play anything on it until I was 20!
The dude doing the commentary for the canceled bionicle game sounds like the turtle from sly Cooper but deeper!! 😂
That would be Liam Robinson. He's done many a video for this channel.
Will the audio RSS be updated too?
Albeit the GCN wasn’t the first game console in my family home, I grew up with NES & Genesis in my house, the GCN was my first personal console.
I'm so happy that Thousand Years Door is coming to the Switch, one of the best Mario RPGs without a doubt.
I swear the Mandela Effect is real, because I very clearly remember the Bionicle game getting released.
It’s always good to learn more about the GameCube and its games, just wish the games weren’t so expensive now.
Game Cube is a spicy system. Such a crazy step up from N64. Many of these games still look great. I love the water in Pikmin. Still looks good.
yay! new stuff to sleep too!!
The GameCube was my absolute favorite console that gen. It was the only one I had, not counting handhelds. I had a ton of games too and my biggest regret was ever trading it in. I've been slowly rebuying over the years.
27:18 Hilarious with the edit! 🤣🤣
Weirdly enough my most fond memories of the GCN was playing need for speed
I have done nothing but teleport Tingle for three days.
One of the best consoles ever created. Some of my favourite gaming memories were on the GameCube.
In Pikmin 2, there a mystery surrounding the areas of the game. If play close attention, every area is a remix of one or two of the original Pikmin 1 maps: Awakening Wood is Forest of Hope, Perplexing Pool is Distant Spring and Wistful Wild is a combination of the Final Trial and Impact site. But if you played the original game, you notice that there one area missing from the list: Forest Navel. The game does have a 4th area called Valley of Repose, but it has zero similarities with Forest Navel. Well, there a fan theory proposed by a youtuber name "Hair and Bones" which proposes that the "Manhole found in Valley of Repose is covering the entrance of Forest Navel, making this area of Pikmin 2 its true counterpart"
And while this is merely speculation, i think its a very interesting theory to think about of the original Gamecube Pikmin games
This video is so crazy, I wish I could go back to my 4th grade self and blow his mind with these facts. I would have never shut up telling all my friends about all these facts. Now hoping you blow my mind and send the steam deck!!🎉😎 love this channel. I listen to these videos every night while I go to sleep.
Gamecube has the first console I got that was all mine and I still love playing those games today
This is my favourite childhood console
The GameCube is my favorite console of all time. Now I just need a Steam Deck so I can emulate all my favorites!
Super Mario sunshine is my favorite 3D Mario game of all time. Recently got my copy signed by Charles Martinet
I was not ready for the knowledge of the bionacle lore.
The GameCube had great games like:
Kirby Air Ride
Kirby Air Ride
Kirby Air Ride
Kirby Air Ride
Kirby Air Ride
Kirby Air Ride
Kir
Imagine what we could've got on this underrated system if they used normal sized disks.
Bust a huge load? Lmao iconic!
imagine going crazy over tingle for months and when you finally get to say something in a magazine barley anyone would know what they were talking about
The thumbnail of this video reminded me of my spice orange GC controller, I really like that color and wish I could get some Joycons in that color, that and the atomic purple of my old GBC. I don't have the ability or courage to mode them.
Still have my gamecube! Complete with two sets of DK bongos
Who knew this video would end with a 20 minute commercial for a new bionicle game..
I feel like out of any console Nintendo has put out, the Gamecube is the most fascinating to learn more about. So many series' had either a tentpole in their franchise, a massive shake up to an established formula, or a brand new franchise that later became massive. Not to mention an insane amount of quality sleeper hits and third party support. I really wish that it sold better, because to me when I think of Nintendo I think Gamecube
1:19 “inspired by the deserts of Phoenix, AZ”
I gotta say, you did AZ a terrible disservice by using a photo of downtown Phoenix here 😅 Arizona has SO MANY beautiful landscapes
This system was my first ever console and huge fav I thought it did great on sale always did bc I loved it
If Nintendo ever brings back the orange spice color, they should call it “pumpkin spice”
Good stuff. Although, and this is just a nitpick, but rogue squadron wasn't the first game to use Pro Logic technology for surround sound. It may have been the first to officially state it and use the logo, but several Nintendo 64 games used it without advertising it. But if you turn on the surround mode in the games and set your around receiver to pro logic mode they undoubtedly work. For example both N64 Zelda games used it (and sound amazing in that mode btw, very immersive and also helpful for locating enemies that might be behind you) and donkey Kong 64 just to name a few. But this is just a nitpick, they didn't use the pro logic logo.
Maybe some of the members of normal boot can help spread the word that did you know game got their channel back?
The Gamecube is honestly my favorite console of all time
CUSTOM ROBO MENTIONED, BIG DAY
The Theramin music cracked me up.
Lol, CHa-sm... at the bottom of a CHa-sm🤣🤣💀
