I'd have a conversation asking questions about what they know, how they'd do it, pros & cons, risks involved, options and choices. Discuss the plan, share responsibilities, level of instruction before allowing them plenty of practice. Once objective achieved, move on or raise the bar

I'm a pdi and I have passed part 1&2 have my part 3 booked in November the teaching company i am using are not to keen on them especially in part 3 exams I am a previously adi some years ago and I've always found the aids really helpful please can I have your thoughts 🙏 🙂
I find them very useful to help explain various scenarios and they save me time having to sketch them. They can be used proactively before doing something or reactively after an event. They can be useful in Part 3 exams for this reason BUT examiners are not interested in seeing you deliver briefings. Do these before and spend the time giving practical instruction in a moving car.
I could not agree with you more Laik...i'm currently training for Part 3 and i don't know whether these videos ultimately help or not....do the videos over complicate things?...i think so...they could easily dissuade one from wanting to continue training...incidentally how did instructors pass pre "TH-cam"?...it's no wonder so many PDI's drop out at Part 3 stage.

GoPro Hero 5 Black for in car and Session 4 do the trick. Using internal mic but want to improve this with a Shotgun mic soon
