Only read in history and geography textbooks about Malacca's pivotal status in the region long time ago. Now, through your lenses and detailed introduction, local customs and traditions are more vivid and understandable. What a wonderful joy ride!
@TalesFromOurPocket hi, I am inspired by your travel videos and you share your travel experiences uniquely. I would like to know how you research and plan your travel. Say in Alishan Taiwan, how do you know how many days to stay in Alishan and where to go, what to see, etc. How do you incorporate that Alishan travel to your whole Taiwan trip. Thank you. I appreciate you.
I spent my first 20 years growing up in this small city, thanks for documenting this city and I enjoyed so much to “return to” my hometown through your eyes, and it jogs lots of my memories.
Welcome to Malaysia! We do have many types of donuts for Heather, and definitely a lot of spicy food for Bill. Have a wonderful trip you two. Looking forward to the videos.
Tq for promoting my State, where I live now to the eyes of the world. Hope u both have enjoyed yourselves along your journey in Malacca ( Melaka ), where it all began for Malaysia..
We Malaysians don't walk in the middle of the day because it's so hot. That's why you see that the streets are quite quiet during the day. We will start going outside in the evening.
Malaysia is hot but Melaka is even hotter than most other cities in Malaysia. 😅. I prefer doing my walks during night time whenever I go to Melaka and the boat ride during night time is much2 better than evening. You have lots beautiful lights during the night. Anyway since you guys are moving from the South to the North. I hope after Kuala Lumpur you might consider stopping at Ipoh for 1-2 days before you travel to Penang or Langkawi (Which im guessing when you 2 are heading after KL). It's my home town and I have to say that for decades the city has been stagnating however recently Ipoh seems to finally start booming again. Recently there has been a huge jump in foreign tourists too, it went from 5,000 in 2019 foreign visitors to 50,000 in 2022 and this year the state government expects foreign tourists to reach 250,000. You can feel the city center is finally getting some life again. It also has many beautiful limestone hills too. Worth the visit in my opinion.
By the next country, you’ll be enjoying all the spicy meals! Trust me, building this palate will open up to so much more selection of cuisines globally!
Fyi, the area beyond taming sari's site was actually the sea back in the 70s aand 80s, and the seaside back in the 1400s were just outside across a small road of the A'Famosa
Welcome to my hometown. By the way it’s a UNESCO Heritage City. Hold a record as the busiest trading port in 1490s. In 1509, Portuguese writer wrote.. there are 84 languages spoken in this city..
Howdy from Texas! Heather you look like a nun when dressed as local entering mosque and i think it's kind of funny 😂😂😂. Malaysia is a very safe country but still a Muslim country so you two being Americans just pay little more attention of your surrounding and be safe and have fun
Love your videos, clear, good editing, perfect transition, well narrated.
Thank you so much! 😊
First time hearing and seeing this place, which is pretty exciting! Thanks for sharing!

Thank you! We weren't aware of its importance until we visited. We learned so much - it was fascinating!

Firstly welcome to Malaysia

Yes agreed Malacca is the perfect start to explore entire Malaysia...
你們的影片非常棒,希望很快可以再回來台灣(Taiwan)旅遊,台灣人都歡迎你們!

Malaysians are smarter at managing the heat than we are, since we aren't used to it. 😂😂
@@TalesFromOurPocket it is the same logic in middle east
Recently got back from Taiwan, thanks for all the tips! Your vlogs were my main source of info. Nice to see you guys in a new country!
Thank you so much!! Did you enjoy Taiwan as much as we did??
@@TalesFromOurPocket it was great!

Hahaha, I promise that I'm trying!! Also - are you allergic to peanuts, or do you just not like them?
@@TalesFromOurPocket I love boiled and roasted peanuts!! I found out when I went to Chiang Mai years ago that I do not like peanuts in my sauce 😂
Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!

That coconut drink looks great!
The river cruise is very scenic at night!
You guys should also visit the dutch square Styadhust House museum. It is quite interesting too.

I'm in Melaka right now. Just my first time in Ramadon week OMG.
The bridge lead to the old bus station/depot before melaka central operates. The river is Sungai Melaka
Beautiful#👌💐👌
Is it cheaper than penang?
Which city is best for single expats to live?
Are there a lot of mayalsian food dishes that are not soupy?
The boat ride is worth it because it is long enough to let us rest our leg and short enough to not let us get sleepy because of the sea breeze.
Maybe you did the really right step. Malacca the 1st place step in by western.

Yes, always safety first - Thank you! (also, I felt pretty odd seeing myself dressed so differently, too!!) 😁
Love your video.
Have you noticed that those chinese temples, Hindu temples, mosques and churches are all on the same street? 👍
You guys should headback that area at night. It's much better.
That looked more like a Soft Rock Cafe 😂
Most of the tourists here are Singaporeans. So yeah, maybe a little milder than an American Hard Rock. 😃
加油。
You havent seen ST Peter church in melaka
