Realizing at 28 that OCD explains literally everything in your entire life is absolutely earth shattering in the most hopeful way. But I have so much to understand.
I have this ruminating/counting form of OCD, i've had it as far back as I remember, since I was a small boy and now i'm middle-aged. This OCD is really deep in the personality, I wonder if it's possible to get past it or is it a case of managing it by outsourcing things like decision making - maybe we need systems for making decisions, such as pro/cons lists and deadlines. Rather than ruminate endlessly on decisions trying to calculate the optimal path (which is pointless when dealing with uncertain outcomes) for emotional comfort, we have to follow a system to make the decision and then do it within a certain timeframe.

Beautifully said. And I absolutely agree.

Resonates with me so so much. For the longest time I thought it was ADHD.
I'm dealing with this now, looking for my next job, wanted to choose the RIGHT ONE!
How is the job hunt going? I’m on the same boat.
That was so informative, thank you
Thank you this was very useful information
