My stye popped and there is an empty open wound, i would like to know how to take care with the open wound (this is my first time having a stye ) i really need your help thank you
@@lexerangelomanarpies8561 Im stye is already healing with the help of antibacterial eyedrop .the wound is already closed 😊 all i did was cleaning it with the earbudds and put some eyedrops 💖
Yes, that can work. However, as mentioned in my other video here about warm compresses, I have actually given myself a stye by making my own with a "clean sock". for sure want to use a new one. Also flax seed works well. Heres that video if you haven't seen it. th-cam.com/video/d8XRrZfyE7s/w-d-xo.html
I just visited my eye doctor about a stye and bloodshot eye. He gave me a steroid/anti-biotic eye drop and some cleansing wipes for my lids. Your video went into far more detail. Thanks.
On Thursday I got a sty, 1st time in my life. I looked for info on what it was and came across your video. I did exactly as you suggested. I did 20 min hot compress every 4 hours for 2 days and used hydroclor and I had some amoxicillin. By Sunday it was gone. Just a little bit sore but the swelling is gone and the white pimple looking sty on my inside upper eyelid. I actually felt the sty draining at time ( eeew ). So thanks Doctor. I'm forever greatful
I get a few styes a year, and I have found the best way to get constant heat is too boil water, put in into a small jar (e.g. jam jar), use a towel to hold the body (so you don't burn your hand) and put a few layers of tissue paper over the lid/base and just hold that to the eye. If it starts feeling less warm, take off a layer of tissue (I usually start off with 3 layers to keep it from being too hot). This usually lasts the 10-15 minutes of warmth.
DONT PUT WARM/BOILING WATER IN TO GLASS, it can break and shatter in your eye!!! Please delete this comment just in case someone reads this comment and accidently blinds themselves
hello my friends im here to share my experience from having a stye personally. I get them every 1-2 years and they usually stay on for months. I was also told if you get styes alot its proabbly from the lack of seafood if you dont eat any. My latest experience was from october to december. As soon as i noticed it getting big enough to be seen i started the hot compress almost 6x a day and kept going to the doctor for medication and ointment. Unfortunately after 3 different doctors and medications i gave up hope. The stye was already on my eye for 2 months so i was getting desperate. I started paying more attention to videos on youtube and home remedies online. Me personally started seeing results the most from washing my stye with baby shampoo 3x a day and also putting tea tree oil on while still doing the hot compress 3x a day. Within a week and a half of doing this i started seeing immediate results way more effective than the doctor and all their medications they recommended. Sorry for the long talk but just hope i can help anybody else going through it! i know the depression and how difficult it can be having it so trust me your not alone.
It also helps me to boil an egg and wrap it in a sock or paper towel for a hot compress. Strange, but it's the perfect shape for your eye socket and retains heat for a long time!
When I was younger, my mom said not to pop it because the infection can spread to your brain and kill you but I think she was just trying to scare me lol 😬
3racha_ Chanty Its the most annoying healing process...put lukewarm greentea bags on your eyes...greentea really helps its a natural detox and get something from an eye specialist their is no way around...it has to be the one with prescription the kind that u can get from a pharmacy without prescription does not help at all at least for me...and then the waiting game (4 - 6 days 😫)
Thank you. I've been developing a stye the last couple of days. No health coverage or money and who the hell wants to be in a doctor's office these days? Watched this video half an hour ago and already enjoying some relief from the discomfort and inflammation. Again, thank you.
Didnt know I had to use warm compress for that long. I've had this stye for like 3 weeks now. Hopefully this works because I really cant afford to go to the doctor. Thank you for making this video!
Boil an egg. It stays warm for a long time and is very easy to target the affected area. Plus you can always reboil it and use it again. Doctor gave me that advice years ago and it has ALWAYS helped with any stye I've had.
I'm a pediatric RN and I have a child (6) with a sty. Good luck with the warm compress. A video for what to do with children might help. I like this video. I can tell you are a good physician. ❤️
Thanks Jen! Yes, warm compresses usually do well with children and for really bad cases oral antibiotics can help. Similar to treating a preseptal cellulitis. Many blessings to you and your patients .
Thanks for your help Doctor ! I went to Walgreens yesterday purchased the eye mask for 20 bucks and the eyewash . The lower lid is much improved. Sure beats the frequent washcloth run to the bathroom !
I have a stye right now. Eye was itching and felt feverish yesterday and check in the mirror and this is the worst one I have ever had...my right eyelid is swollen from the enter corner to half way across. I have gotten sytes and chalazion in the past. This us the 1st one this year. I have gotten at least 2 or 3 in the last 3 years. I have taken oral treatment before as well as prescription eyedrops. Your video was very helpful.
If you have a severe stye and have had it for a couple of days and cannot stand the pain I highly suggest you read the rest of this comment. About 5 days ago I found out I had a stye and it became to painful to handle. It got to the point where it was impossible to sleep at night and in the rare cases that I would rest, I would wake up with a large amount of discharge surrounding my eye that was impossible to clean without disrupting the stye causing it to worsen. It significantly helps to apply "Bacitracin Zinc and Polymyxin B Sulfate" ointment. Not only does it clean and disinfect the eye, but also relieves most of the pain the stye causes. If you are able to, I highly recommend to ask your doctor for this ointment. If you are struggling to sleep at night because of your stye, this is definitely a great option to decrease the pain. I've been using it for two days now and sometimes I forget it's even there! I really hope this helps!
Hi Dr Eye, Thanks for the best advice on my stye. Never had one in my life and I'm 54. Just writing to suggest a great warm compress idea I worked out that gives a full days heat. They're called Hot Hands toe warmers. A pack of 2 cost $2 max but once the bag is open both must be used as the heat is generated on exposure to oxygen. As they both have adhesive backing to stick in the soles of your feet, i could stick them back to back together and had a perfect round shaped cushion with soft cloth cover. I was able to apply direct to the eye for hours to get really good heat that's almost too hot. If so just wrap in a hankie.
Woke up this morning with my first stye ever. Boy oh boy what such pain and irritation. Not really sure what it was at first. I hit the internet and learned warm compresses and bought some stye gel in a tube to use (recommended by pharmacist). I also used my beauty face steamer. I hit these techniques pretty hard all day and finally relief within 13 hours. The stye still exist, but has gone down tremendously. I could not find an eye mask nor eye lash cleaner in the stores so, I ordered each of them from Amazon and will get them Tuesday (better late than never). Love your video. Thanks
My determination paid off Dr....the stye is gone Sir. I will continue to follow your informational videos. I appreciate anyone that takes the time to help without charging us an office visit LOLOLOL

ive had one before from using old makeup, and just when I thought I would never get a stye again I literally just got one today. not by makeup, but by rubbing my eyes constantly. in the future, make sure you do not use old makeup, don't rub ur eyes unless yk for a fact they're clean, and stay away from using other peoples makeup, skincare products, etc, if they have an eye infection. also make sure ur bed sheets and pillow sheets are clean.

I feel you man same thing happened to me at first it was a chalazion and I did the whole compression thing for a week and it was going down and getting smaller . But now all of a sudden two days ago it turned into a stye and it's getting bigger
Thank you sooo Much ..... I was using the wash cloth compress not nearly long enough twice a day. When I originally got the style on my upper left eye lid, there was swelling ,some pain. I've never had this problem before but think it maybe a result of some brush on eyelash glue I used the night before the occurrence ...normally don't use brush glue . The lashes where new the glue wasn't and thank goodness it was only one eye. The Dr where I purchase my glasses , the swelling was affecting my vision. He explained a stye to me and removed some puss to reduce the swelling. I did compress 2x a day and dry eye solution . After 2 weeks It was better but not GONE😢. Went back and received a topical ointment to use for 5 days , continue hot compress and if I'm not happy with results will need to see Optometrist . I'm still using the ointment ...7 days pass the 5. After watching your video I'm going to do the heat correctly ,get the eyelid cleaner and give it a little more time. Thanks again👏🏾❤️
OMG!!! Yeeeees! Huge hugs & kisses💋💋😘😘 to you. I'm so happy I found your video. I did the eye wash, heat & massage 4x a day exactly as the Dr. (you) advised.. Lol😆 lots of massages. I was excited to see such an Amazing difference after two days and it was gone in about a week. Sooooo happy I'm found you. 😆😆Thanks again, You're Awesome!! 👏👍
Wash your eye with warm salt water. I like to use sea salt. You might wonder if it stings and i guess it kinda does a little but mosty its just uncomfortable bc it is cleaning the infection, but it will not harm you. You can search on google "salt water for styes" and im sure it will tell u how much to mix with water. Personally i use a lottt of salt to speed up the process. DO NOT TOUCH YOUR EYE UNLESS U ARE CLEANING IT. Just keep it clean, leave it alone, and it will heal. If you have a question about it, you can always ask me and i MIGHT know.
@@inhalethememes1098 use the warm salt water in your eye at least 3 or 4 times a day. Get a cup or some container put salt and warm water. Mix it so that that the salt is no longer at the bottom. And open your eye while its in the water and just look around so the salt cleans everything. You can do this even when u dont have a stye so that u prevent yourself from getting one
Thank you! This really helped me 🙂 I had a stye on the inside of my upper eyelid. I made my warm compress with heated dry rice, warped into some tissue paper (didn’t want to reuse the same cloth, so I figured this was the most sanitary way) I left it on the eye for 15-20 min and followed up with the eye massage. It’s almost gone now. I also rinsed it with some salt water a couple of times..
@@ItsKaileyplayz-Official If I remember correctly, I used warm water for the salt to dissolve in, and after rinsing with warm salted water, I used cold water to rinse of the salt water.
Thank you for this great video. Try making a charcoal poultice with activated charcoal powder. You can buy the capsules and open them up or buy the powder. I use gauze or a small piece of paper towel dampened and put a small amount of dry charcoal powder on it then fold it up and tape it to the skin with a bandaid or skin tape. Pulls out infections. Sometimes you can just wet the gauze on a bandaid and use it on the skin (great for bee or wasp stings too). I carry charcoal capsules in my purse and car. If you plan to sleep with the poultice attached or using the poultice under clothing you need to cover it with plastic so the charcoal will not come out and stain clothing or bedding. You can use charcoal poultices for many infections including an infected tooth. Simply place the gauze with charcoal applied between your cheek and gum next to the infection. Charcoal is the number one remedy for poisoning and all hospitals use it. Every household should have activated charcoal for emergencies. Also relieves indigestion and gas when taken internally. Don't know why I haven't tried it for this stye I've had for 3 days...duh! Wearing a poultice now. I also used a dampened wash cloth with about 1/2 cup of rice and placed in microwave for a minute and then covered it with a paper towel to make it more sterile. Stayed hot for about 10 minutes but had to move it around. It did feel good to my eye. Hope this helps someone. You can buy activated charcoal at the health food store. I buy the capsules online at Puritan's Pride. When on sale it's the cheapest. I give the bottles of capsules away to friends and family so they will always have it on hand. Great for stomach upset. When giving to kids to drink put it in juice in an opaque cup with a straw so they can't see that they are drinking something black. I have given it to my infant grandson when he was crying constantly and I suspected his stomach was upset. I put the charcoal in a small amount of water and then in a medicine syringe. He was crying constantly and he quit crying immediately ...I was amazed! You can find many youtube videos educating you on the use of charcoal. It has so many uses as a natural remedy.
Got my first stye, took me two weeks to figure out wtf was happening. Don’t have insurance so today I did a video chat appt online and was prescribed erythromycin and amoxicillin. Pretty sure I’m dying and my eye needs to be amputated. Thankful for my late night TH-cam binging about styes and coming across this video.
@@charleneibarra2416 yes. get a cup you can use for this. Go to the sink put hot water in the cup, add the salt. Stir it so the salt dissolves. Then add a little bit of colder water to it so it isnt as hot but make sure its still very warm water or at least just warm. The amount of salt u put just depends on how much your willing to put in there. For ex. in 8oz water id probably put a table spoon of salt. It does burn a little but you will be fine. Our tears naturally have salt in them so its not anything your eyes cant handle. The burn from the salt will go away in a few seconds. Ive gotten styes a couple of times and warm salt water id the ONLY THING THAT HAS WORKED. The salt might even pop the stye the first time you do it if you keep ur eye in the water long enough.
thank you for your tips. the warmth made a huge difference. Thank you. My sister wanted to pop it like (shhh, I am hiding from her) the main reason how I end up watching this video. Thank you again.
Take an old gym sock (make sure it is clean), fill it with a cup of plain white rice and tie it shut. Microwave until desired heat is reached (i usually do about 45 sec) and hold on eye lid until it cools off. I do this multiple times a day as soon as my eye begins to hurt and most of the time, my stye is gone within a day or two.
Dr. thank you, I appreciate your video. You explain this problem in detail. I think that when you do the demo for wipping off your eyes, you wipe the eyes a bit too harsh. It seems to me that you need to do it more gently. The problem I have is in the internal bottom eyelid of my left eye where I have a large white spot. I went to the Dr. but he didn't prescribe antibiotics, he only recommended the hot compresses.
You've got beautiful blue eyes though 😍😉 Ok let me get straight to why I'm here... I've got a stye and I hate the itching, pain and the look. I just started applying heat on the eyelid. It kinda calms the pain and itching. I also learnt how to prevent it from happening. Prevention is better than cure. Thanks Doc for the home remedy. God bless
@@DoctorEyeHealth It's still there and painful. Because of work, I couldn't do the 4 times heat compression. I ordered the eye heating bag you recommended and also the spray to wipe eyelashes. I just tried them and will continue to do so. I hope it works. My stye is on the inner lower lid.
It has to be warm but wet compress every four hours. What worked for me was steamer, I kept the eyes open amd I added essential oils to kill like peppermint oil and theives oil for anti microbial and anti bacterial effects. One can use bacterial topical ointment in a cotton swab and the drops given by doc. You can also wipe with coconut oil all the discharge.

I have heard about the warm tea bag idea. Basically works the same way, in theory, just because of the heat. No scientific literature or published studies really confirming which content of tea would actually help.

My doctor told me that since there is not a lot blood supply to the eye, he would not prescribe oral antibiotics because that would go to the rest of the body but not the eye. Can you comment on this? Please?
My eye has had a stye inside of it for a month (nearly two) now. It was infected, my whole eyelid blew up, but antibiotics got rid of it for me. Now it’s just a stye.
Thanks great! Thanks for sharing.

Thank you!
It also helps me to boil an egg and wrap it in a sock or paper towel for a hot compress. Strange, but it's the perfect shape for your eye socket and retains heat for a long time!

Boil an egg. It stays warm for a long time and is very easy to target the affected area. Plus you can always reboil it and use it again. Doctor gave me that advice years ago and it has ALWAYS helped with any stye I've had.
Does it help to pop them?

Thanks for the support guys the pain in my eye has stopped but there is a ugly spot left behind. My doctor said it will go in about a month.
Nope
I got like 12 or 13 styes on my right eye last year and it is my 4th stye this year on my left eye, such a milestone.
So happy to help Debra! Thanks for watching
Oh god exactly same happen to me
If you have a severe stye and have had it for a couple of days and cannot stand the pain I highly suggest you read the rest of this comment.

Hi Dr Eye,
Thanks for the best advice on my stye.
Can you GET in medical stores?
Woke up this morning with my first stye ever. Boy oh boy what such pain and irritation. Not really sure what it was at first. I hit the internet and learned warm compresses and bought some stye gel in a tube to use (recommended by pharmacist). I also used my beauty face steamer. I hit these techniques pretty hard all day and finally relief within 13 hours. The stye still exist, but has gone down tremendously. I could not find an eye mask nor eye lash cleaner in the stores so, I ordered each of them from Amazon and will get them Tuesday (better late than never). Love your video. Thanks
Glad to hear things are clearing up!

An eye doc with beautiful eyes! Thanks. My style is actually super painful but I’ll get through it.

Mine has being going on for 3 weeks 😔
@@inhalethememes1098 use the warm salt water in your eye at least 3 or 4 times a day. Get a cup or some container put salt and warm water. Mix it so that that the salt is no longer at the bottom.

Did you use any soap to clean the Eye first, before With warm SALT water?
@@serenajocelyns.7473 do u put the sat water directly in ur eye?
@@charleneibarra2416 yes. get a cup you can use for this. Go to the sink put hot water in the cup, add the salt. Stir it so the salt dissolves. Then add a little bit of colder water to it so it isnt as hot but make sure its still very warm water or at least just warm. The amount of salt u put just depends on how much your willing to put in there. For ex. in 8oz water id probably put a table spoon of salt.
It does burn a little but you will be fine. Our tears naturally have salt in them so its not anything your eyes cant handle. The burn from the salt will go away in a few seconds.

Dr. thank you, I appreciate your video. You explain this problem in detail. I think that when you do the demo for wipping off your eyes, you wipe the eyes a bit too harsh. Hey Bruce, well I wanted to represent the best and most effective methods. This video here also mentions the similar warm compress but also goes over some other methods you may find useful or interesting. th-cam.com/video/d8XRrZfyE7s/w-d-xo.html
Thanks for the shout out! 👍👍😎
Keep up the awesome work! Great stuff!
Can you speak to avoiding infection when compressing. I'm using heated gel packs inside of a wet compress. Thank you so much for this channel.
Can’t even close to me eye without it hurting thanks for all the help
ouch! that must be pretty bad.
I have had this for a year and it still won’t go away
Oh that stinks. I take it is just a hard lump now?
same here and warm presses do not work for me or anything at all :(, I have a chalazion
What about a warm tea bag for an eye compress???
I want relief because I’ve been miserable for 3 days with my stye.
Reneé I’ve been miserable for two months so try me sis
I have heard about the warm tea bag idea. Basically works the same way, in theory, just because of the heat. No scientific literature or published studies really confirming which content of tea would actually help.

lol girl...go to the doctor.
I’ve also had a bad headache with my stye. Warm compresses do help though. I did find a microwavable eye mask.
@Doctor Eye Health thank you for your response!
@@Blondie727 i heard black tea has certain components that help.
Would adding salt to the warm water compress help aid the infection?
Well i don’t really want to go to the doctor considering all that is going on now 😒

My Stye Experience:
Hi so I am shy with posting youtube videos so I thought I would just comment my experience with styes and how i got rid of them with no operation done (side note: took me 1 year but had them for 2 years) I got my first small stye in HS never paid attention to it until college where it started getting HUGE, it transferred to the other eye and I tell you it was HUGE. I was very insecure about myself sometimes not wanting to go to school bc the stye was super noticeable & ugly :/ I tried so many ointments, went to the doctor, at home remedies and honestly it's hard to find what worked best for me but I will sum up some of the things i feel worked best 1. hot tea bags: preferably black tea or chamomile (has to be done every night) 2. stye relief cream from rite aid/walgreens 3. VITAMINS for the skin! 4. prescribed eye drops from my doctor...I say I'm not sure what worked from those 4 options bc the first time I got eye drops from the doctor they didn't work but I'm assuming the 2nd time it did plus I was doing the other three things. Let me know if you have any questions about the ointment or vitamins or want to see any BEFORE & AFTER pictures you can DM me on instagram s.tephanie.28 or reply here

Hello Doc! Which antibiotic topical gel are your referring to for treatment when discussing blepharitis? Thank You
I've been watching alot of your videos. I have dry eyes & blepharitis. Been doing eye washes with baby shampoo. I will buy the special eye cleansers you mentioned herein. Will get the brugler mask too. So informative. Thank you.
i have been using genteal tears for my dry eye since i sleep with my eyes open sometimes , it seems to help me .and it doesn't burn like many eye drops do.
Dr My eye doctor gave me a bottle of Avanova and I love it. I just got another style that is on my eye lid and lower eye this time. I was prescribed two types of meds. A modification and oral Doxycycline. Seems like this will take some time.
I have one rn it hurts really bad it's like my 4th style this year😫 and I do try to keep my eyes clean but it's not helping and I have gotten medication thanks for the feedback 💕
look up blepharitis
I like to use baby shampoo to wash my eyelids... that helped kill my demodex
I’m gonna try this out, I got this weird bruise like bump on my bottom right eyelid.
I didn't pop it but there was a lash right in the middle of the white thing and i removed the lash and out came the pus is that bad?
Probably not. Hopefully it heals pretty fast for you. Again, best to see a doctor if its not getting better.
heyy real quick can i ask if anything happened after? or during the healing process eg leaves scar or anth?
Can you use hand warmers wrapped in a paper towel for the warm compress?
Never tried it myself but there are some warm compresses out there that are similar
This is the most beautiful doctor I have ever seen in my entire life. K I’m out ✌🏻
Beautiful
Thank you
He is my husband
My doctor told me that since there is not a lot blood supply to the eye, he would not prescribe oral antibiotics because that would go to the rest of the body but not the eye. Can you comment on this? Please?
My eye has had a stye inside of it for a month (nearly two) now. It was infected, my whole eyelid blew up, but antibiotics got rid of it for me. Now it’s just a stye. I’ve been putting a hot cloth on it for a good week or two but it isn’t doing anything, and I’m getting so annoyed now. I don’t want to burden the NHS with corona going on, but I might need to see a doctor again. It is under my top eyelid, and a ball of pus.
Kxllix did you ever get rid of it?
Doctor my eye at the left side always becomes red and sometimes painful but I can see there is something pointed on it and how will I get rid of it please?
Thanks for the information... stye in right eyelid from last 2 months... its dry, no pain. Its just there...
