I'm currently playing with a computer engineer who I just finished uni with. She married her college crush and they had triplets first thing. I love this house. It's so cute! It reminds me of something I saw in a magazine recently called "Unique Homes."
I love flipping back and forth between the thumbnail and the video to see if you keep things you try. I feel like that helps me learn how to build better because it's all about putting things down that are okay but then thinking no let's find it better. I would love more tutorial videos like your were discussing. Floorplan, stairs, windows etc are great topics. Maybe you can show us lots of examples?
I played with Barbies all the way through 8th grade. Also didn’t have a big dollhouse, but I converted a bookshelf into my own. Complete with couches made out of Velveeta boxes. 😂 And I’ve frequently wondered if the reason I like the Sims is because it’s just the grown up version. 😊
OMG yes!! It makes total sense to have the laundry baskets near the washer and dryer and not all over the place, since dirty clothes automatically and magically end up there anyway. I really don't know why a lot of simmers put them all over the house, and sims take ages to gather all the clothes up to do laundry. Basically, it feels weird for me maybe because over here the laundry baskets are located usually in the bathrooms and not in other rooms. You just get undressed throw your clothes in the basket and hop in the tub/shower. And everyone throws their dirty clothes in there anyway instead of a basket in their room , that ends up smelling of dirty underwear and socks while you sleep. I was never a "barbie" girl, well ok Barbies where 2nd on my list, but my fav toy were my little ponies... Still there was one thing i LOVED in both , and that was creating the environment they lived in. I remember before my parents could afford to buy me mlp houses , stables etch i would get big cardboard boxes , where i would cut doors and windows and turn them into houses and decorated them. I even created "curtains" from pieces of fabric my mom used to bring home for me from the clothes manufactory she worked in. I also loved dressing up my barbies so those fabric pieces came in really handy in general No wonder why I ended up LOVING The Sims
wow. You inspire me endlessly. All of your builds are so iconic. The homes seem so lived in and I always can easily imagine so many stories of different sims who might live there or have lived there. Thank You for all that you do for the Sims community! ❤️ Your imagination is so amazing!
Watch, they give us a new sectional for a random anniversary that happens to be a significant year's milestone for either Sims 4 or the franchise as a whole, and it has only various swatches of plumbob patterns on the couch cushions. Lol. But, I could actually see them doing that.
I think this is my favorite house you've ever built. I love how it looks and the storyline of the sims, it really makes me want to create a family just to play in it!
Build suggestion! Could you build a wheelchair accessible home? Or a collection of disabled access tiny homes. That would be so validating to see as we don't have disability representation in the sims.
I completely agree! I understand don’t everyone is religious, but also some religious representation. I personally am a disabled Christian and I would love that! ❤️
This is so cool! I’ve really been wanting to explore the engineering/robotics/fabrication skills and lifestyle lately and this has everything! I think I’m going to have to make a couple that are both into engineering and play around with it all! Thank you for giving me inspiration to play again!
I like how even though this was a build based on a career, it’s still a family home with space and activities for the whole household. Not just a one sim home for someone starting out in a career. I mostly see one sim career based homes, and it’s not as useable for me because even if I start with a single sim, they usually end up with a larger household, either a partner, or kids, or lot of pets, or a friendly companion or a combination.
I actually build a junkyard style house for my Mechanic Engineer sim, after I was done with it. It came out looking more like a post apocalyptic like I’ve seen on the Fallout games.
I feel like sectionals could be like apartments - they were really just a City Living thing until Eco Lifestyle. I reckon sectionals might only come up in a couple future packs.

IMPORTANT NOTE to anyone who wants to play with this house: change the roofing! It makes the bills astronomically high. 💸💸💸 I once spent so much time trying to figure out why my sims' bills are ridiculously high and it was this roofing. I'm never using it again! So I'm saving you guys some time so you don't have to go through the same detective work, it was so annoying :D

my husband and i are both engineers! we go both ways- one style is very quirky and chaotic (me) and the other is incredibly minimalistic and modern (my husband)
hi, why does the sectional look a completely different color in your game vs mine? yours looks almost a minty blue with a cool wood on the back but the same swatch on mine is like a sage green and dark wood? is it lighting or mods or filters?

Yeah, I was more into the Sims 2 than the Sims 3 simply because I hated how long it took to load and I have a habit of getting so wrapped up in building back then I'd forget to save every 15-20 mins so when I would eventually crash I'd be like "Dammit!" And everyone in the house would know it was because I didn't save and just lost at least 3 hours of progress.

I would love to see a landscaping tutorial (esp in different neighborhoods) or a roofing tutorial. Those are always hardest for me

If I remember correctly weren't the garages that opened in the Sims 2 not the Sims 3
They were also in The Sims 3 then - because I didn't really play the Sims 2 - I played the Sims 3 and I used the garages ALL the time! haha
