I am 5'3" , 145-150 lbs, with size 7 shoes. I fit well in the boat, tho' it handle someone taller and heavier than me. Yes. the Sratos is slow compared to my other boats -- a Sterling Progression and my previous Delphin 150. The boat is definitely not a great point A-B touring boat. For surfing and rockplay, it's a fine boat. If you want a RM surf boat with slightly faster speed, go with the Delphin 150 or 155. I got rid of the Delphin 150 because I thought I would be fine with just a composite playboat. But I then decided that I would rather smashed into rocks with a more inexpensive, plastic boat than with my composite boat. So, I got the Stratos 14.5s. To be clear, I like (almost love) this boat because it feels a bit sluggish in paddling out.
