Since my previous comment, I've watched 30-40 different ON1 Raw tutorials, mostly 2022.5 specific...After rewatching this, I think this is one of the most USEFUL tutorials I've watched about how easy it is to get a GREAT photo result in just a few minutes with common sense. The 2nd example's use of the Color Enhancer Effect and just adding warmth - without having to touch any of the other dozens of options in the effect is brilliant! The 3rd example is the best example/explanation I've seen about how to leverage the luminosity mask slider to dial in on the foreground subjects. I'm making the move from Adobe LR/PS right now after almost a decade of using them, and this is the video that finally clocked me in with 100% confidence that "this is the right move and at the right time." I'm sick of having to move from LR to PS - and then Topaz and back into Lightroom. SICK OF IT! ON1 Raw 2022.5's workflow is a Godsend to people who don't necessarily want to spend half an hour on every photo edit. Aside from this tutorial, I'm falling in love with the ON1 linear profile and applying AI Auto as a starting point to edit...
I have on1 incorporated into photoshop so,I don't have to keep moving to a separate post processor. However, I won't be able to encorporste on1 with my photoshop (cs5.5) in the future, so I'll have to use two different apps separately if I want to use both on one photo. Lu inosity masks in photoshop,work really well too for,adjusting certain values, and adding looks to certain areas. I can create a luminosity masks, go over to on1 within photoshop, add an adjustment or look, even stacked looks, and have them apply just to the area in the mask if I want. Ie, I can mask a darker area, go to on1, add in detail lighten a bit or lift shadows or whatever, add in a glow if needed, and click done and it applies,it just tl the areas I mask in luminosity action that I have. The only real,thing that 2023 will have over photoshop + old version of on1 within photoshop will be the ai select. But with luminosity masks, brush tools for addi g and subtracting etc, and things like magic select, or whatever it's ca.led in photoshop with magic wand, subject select or whatever, plus refine edge tool, I can get pretty good results, so not sure I will switch over to on1 2023 jusy for the ai select or not, because it would mean using 2 separate programs to edit then- I have a ton of actions I created in photoshop and don't want to lose those. Plus i have nik collection in photoshop too with its cool upoint technology for adding masks. If on1 worked with older photoshop I'd upgrade in a heartbeat though.
Really helpful, but it does make me realise I don't have a good understanding on how and when to use the gear icon for blending or what the 'window' slider, as opposed to the levels slider, should be used for when luminosity masking. Are these features covered in detail in any of the help materials? I have studied the online user guide, but that didn't help me much with those two features.
Cool video but "sunrise" is technically misleading. The sun never "rises", the sun is stationary, it only appears to rise due to the Earth's rotation on its axis. The sun, the moon, all planets rise in the east, and sets in the west, because the Earth rotates eastward. Regardless nice video I enjoyed 👍👍

The masking tools in the latest release has very poor performance. Very clumsy and hard to use. Definitely needs some fixes.
