    Several years ago my wife and I took a 6 day group bike tour around Oregon visiting organic farms. Our group leader was riding a Bike Friday pulling a fairly heavy trailer with all the kitchen supplies from 10 people. He had no trouble keeping up with the group on some 65 mile days. We also stopped and visited the Bike Friday factory. Awesome bikes.

    Nice review ! I've been riding my NWT for more than 10 years. It carried me and all my gear around here in the Italian Alps, Spain, Chile and Australia. I wouldn't buy a Packet or Ticket because of the 16" wheels. 20" 406 tires are easier to get and more comfortable. I would only change my trusty NWT for a Pocket Llama in order to use wider tires.

    I never was comfortable with the Tikit stem and eventually sold mine. I actually like that the Pakit is a solid post. May have to take one for a test spin.

    Why do you speed up the folding process if it’s so fast? Just leave it normal speed. I’m interested in how the folding works.

    ok, I'm legit jealous! haahah... that Pakit can TOUR?! I thought I'd have to get a New World Tourist for touring! NO FAIR! hahha..I want one! If I could get one, I will get one with e-assist! my my! these look like such fantastic bikes ... seems sturdier than the Brompton

    Couple of questions: can you ride hands off the handle bars (does it hold a track)? Is the bike built to YOUR specific measurements?

    Wait is that thing belt driven rather than chain driven? Guess they've looked at the new motorcycles and copied the idea LOL. No more chains to lubricate or freeze up due to lack of lubrication LOL.

    Hi, so this video reminds me of the time I was in the US Army and the drill sergeant would have us assemble and un assemble our weapons until we got so good we could do it in less than a few seconds. That's the proof that anything could be done in less than a few seconds when practiced over and over. With that said, I know that the product "Bike Friday" is still the best bike made in the USA that beats hands down other competitors. I am just saying get someone new to this assembly and let's see what happens then. Or say the bike was assembled by a professional which an owner will soon become. That's all.

    How does it feel riding this on poor road conditions, like road with potholes and cobblestone?

    Good morning Ron, you could send me those old rickety bike Fridays and I'll give them a wonderful home, I promise to send you a postcard of me and my wife riding those bikes everywhere.

    Would be nice not to speed up the folding process to see how long it takes. E.g. if one is traying to catch a commuter train extra 10-20 s may cound.

    Geez. 2300-2800 for an 11 speed. That's a little salty. Cool idea tho. If I had the money to travel that serious I would. Neat idea. Thanks for sharing.

    love your channel run. would you be interested in selling your old bikes?

      Craig, we are not sure yet. We just got the Pakits and they seem great, but we know the Tikits and really like the fast fold. We also have two grandkids and they would make a great set to have when we RV travel with them. Also, they are really upgraded and we only got them 2 years ago and they were $3043 each. You can send me an email at ronpaulk@me.com so I can let you know if we decide to sell them and how much. Put "Tikit" in the subject line. Thanks, Ron

      You are right, it's not a Brompton. I could have saved $1,500 buying two Bromtons vs two Pakits, but worth every penny;0)

    I’ll stick with Brompton. Bike Friday isn’t really a folding bike and it’s huge compared to a Brompton that folds in six seconds

    • @gblan
      @gblan 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Explain exactly how it's not a folding bike? It may be a little bigger footprint than a Brompton but it's a bit of a disingenuous stretch to call it "huge." Cut me a break. For my money the Pakit is every bit the equal to the Brompton and as good as a Brompton is I'd rather give my money to some hard-working Americans.

      Funny, my Pakit cost me $1,500 more than a Brompton😎🤙 BTW, I tested a Brompton before I purchased my first Bike Friday. It was the ride and quality of build that steered me away from the Brompton. Bromptons are a great, quality bike, but for my wife and I, we like the BF better.
