- In this video Ritesh Lakhi recalls the major turning point in the history of Punjab ahead of crucial year of 1984 and operation Blue Star. After the Nirankari Kand of 1978, Lala Jagat Narain, the founder and over arching figure among Punjabi Hindus was spearheading, through his critical writing, pieces, a sustained campaign against religious fundamentalism and militant activities in state. Having been an important witness into the case involving Nirankari followers who fired upon raging Sikh protestors in Amritsar on 1978, Lala Jagat Narain was vocal about the anti nation and militant form
of resistence chosen by Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale. In the process Lala Jagat Narain was targetted by hardliners and on September 9, 1981 was shot dead. This was a major loss and after this next few days saw intense action and violence in Punjab ahead of and after the arrest of Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale in this case. However, in due course it was amply clarified that Sant Bhindranwale had nothing to do with this incident despite his vocal and verbal attacks against
lala Jagat Narain for latter's views held and expressed openly in public.
ਇੱਕ ਅਹਿਮ ਤੱਥ ਗਾਇਬ ਹੈ। ਸੰਤ ਭਿੰਡਰਾਂਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਕਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਇੱਕ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਧਾਰੀ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਅਫਸਰ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰੀ ਦੇਣਗੇ। ਜਿਸ ਮਗਰੋਂ ਇਕਬਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਲਾਲਪੁਰਾ ਜੋ ਹੁਣ ਬੀਜੇਪੀ ਦਾ ਆਗੂ ਹੈ, ਨੂੰ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰੀ ਲਈ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਗਿਆ।
ਬਾਈ ਜੀ, ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਬਰੀ ਹੋਣ ਤੌਂ ਬਾਅਦ, ਇਸ ਅਦਾਲਤੀ ਹੁਕਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਬਾਦਲ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਹਾਈਕੋਰਟ ਵਿਚ, ਸਾਜਸ਼ ਤਹਿਤ ਤਿੰਨ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਦੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਅਪੀਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ। ਜਦੋਂ ਸ਼ਹੀਦ ਭਾਈ ਫੌਜਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੀ ਭੈਣ ਵਲੋਂ ਫਤਿਹਗੜ੍ਹ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਵਿਖੇ ਬਾਦਲ ਨੂੰ ਰੋਕ ਕੇ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਫਾਇਲ ਗਲਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਟੇਬਲ ਤੇ ਪਈ ਰਹਿ ਗਈ, ਇਹ ਤੱਥ ਜਸਵੰਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਕੰਵਲ ਵਲੋਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਕਿਤਾਬ ਵਿਚ ਲਿਖੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ।

Lakhi ji why are you side stepping the truth when you know that the Narakdharis fired upon the unarmed Sikhs who went to protest against gurbacha narakdhari, and lala jagat narain purjured and gave a false testimony.

Sadu Singh Hamdard and Lala Jagat Narayan were good friends. both Ajit and Jagbani newspapers were published from same press but both wrote always against each others, to increase their sale. The language in these newspapers polarised the people.

Sikhs are very peaceful hardworking great social wellfarer people but Sikhs are warriors too,if people like jagat Narayan will try to retaliate towards Sikhs then they will have to face consecutions,
ਮੈ ਹਿੰਦੂ ਆ ਤੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਚ ਰਹਿ ਰਿਹਾ।ਪਤਾ ਨੀ ਲਗ ਰਿਹਾ ਕੌਣ ਹਿੰਦੂ ਕੌਣ ਮੁਸਲਮਾਨ ਆ ਕੌਣ ਸਿੱਖ ਆ।ਸਾਡਾ ਦੁਖ ਸੁਖ ਵਿਆਹ ਸਾਦੀ ਕਿਵੇ ਲੰਘਿਆ ਪਤਾ ਈ ਨੀ ਲਗਿਆ ਨਾ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਮਿਲਕੇ ਕਹਿ ਸਕਦਾ ਵੀ ਮੈ ਹਿੰਦੂ ਆ।ਅਜਿਹੀ ਭਾਈਚਾਰਕ ਸਾਂਝ ਨੂੰ ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਤੋੜਨ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਮੈ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਫੁੱਦੂ ਈ ਸਮਝਾਗਾ।ਬਾਕੀ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਬਿਨਾ ਹਿੰਦੋਸਤਾਨ ਦੀ ਕਲਪਨਾ ਵੀ ਨੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ ਜੋ ਜਦੋ ਦੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਬਣੀ ਇਸਦਾ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਏ।ਪੰਜਾਬ ਹਿੰਦੁਸਤਾਨ ਦੀ ਪਰਮ ਕਰਮ ਧਰਮ ਭੂਮੀ ਏ।ਸਦੀਆ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਜਿੰਨਾ ਸ਼ਾਸਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਸਾਂਭੀ ਉਹ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿਚੋ ਹੀ ਪਰੌੜ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਨਿਕਲੇ।ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਹਿੰਦੋਸਤਾਨ ਦਾ ਗਰਭ ਹੈ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਇਹਦਾ ਬੀਜ ਡਿੱਗਾ ਤੇ ਪਲ ਕੇ ਹਿੰਦੋਸਤਾਨ ਬਣਿਆ।ਸੋ ਸਬਦ ਮੁਕ ਜਾਣੇ ਪਰ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੀ ਮਹੱਤਤਾ ਨੀ ਸੋ ਸਾਸਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਆ ਵੀ ਕਾਹਨੂੰ ਜੀਅ ਲੈਣ ਦੋ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਇਸ ਦੇ ਦੋਖੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਰੀ ਸਮੇ ਆਪਦੀ ਜਮੀਨ ਵੀ ਨਾ ਨਸੀਬ ਹੋਵੇ।ਅਖੀਰ ਚ ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਫੁੱਲ ਸਪੋਟ ਆ ਕਿਸਾਨ ਮਜ਼ਦੂਰ ਏਕਤਾ ਜਿੰਦਾਬਾਦ।
