This was an awesome video! I adore the simplicity and legacy of the Model 10, and it truly doesn't get more classic than a deep bluing and wooden grips. Glad the Performance Center offers great (by the looks of it) re-bluing and polishing services. (Now if only S&W could make that internal lock on the new models optional. I don't care about the pinned barrels, nor do I mind non-recessed cylinders or MIM parts, but I hate the look of that internal lock hole and the minute possibility of malfunction. Surely including a regular cable style lock in the box if someone wants one, or at least giving me the option of ordering a new revolver without the internal lock, would be an acceptable compromise.)
SmithWessonCorp - Great video and an even better gun, that was awesome!!! From a marketing standpoint, the side lock (Hillary Hole) was intentionally not shown - which was no accident. Since you are doing the right thing and bring back these Classic line of revolvers, why isn't the side lock/Hillary Hole totally eliminated from every model especially when so many of your customers do not like or want it at all?!?!?
Last time I checked, about a year ago, S&W told me they weren't accepting any non-warranty work. However, Precision Bluing told me they do all of S & W's non-warranty work and you can send directly to them. There's about a year backlog, though.
Great Video! I'm not much for music in videos like this, but your choice of music was perfect. I only wish it was a longer video. Maybe you can make a start to finish restoration video showing in detail each step along the way.
I will never buy any revolver brand other than Smith & Wesson. I bought three Ruger Super Redhawk and before finalizing the paperwork I Had Each one returned every time because the craftsmanship was crap, very disappointed at Ruger, oh well that's their lost and Smith & Wesson's gain. As long as Smith & Wesson keeps this trend of quality up I will buy nothing but Smith & Wesson.
You are exactly right. The trigger pull on a new Ruger is like pulling a boat anchor and their quality control is horrible. The stories you read and hear are true. If Colt would pull their head out of their ass and bring back all the Snake guns (DA revolvers), Ruger would be in a desperate world of hurt and their sales would sink like the Titanic.
Does doing this really kill the resell value? I recently found a Victory lend/lease in a barn! .38 there’s a bit of rust on the barrel so I was considering this .
What harm is there in having the clever lock system? Why does this offend? I appreciate the option of using it, but no one has to. I also like safeties on my autos.
Lee, a clever lock system? Obviously you are new to S&W handguns. Do yourself a favor and do some research. I personally had a lock “lock up” on me on my S&W 340 on duty. Never again. It’s either S&W pre-locks, or Ruger for me.
NorthwoodsShooter I removed my lock mechanism, and put a plug in its place from originalprecision.com. Problem solved.👍 Took only 20 minutes to get the stupid back out of it.
Wow! Best gun company ever! Well if they would only go back to making their revolvers without locks
And make their general line of revolvers with better qc.

This obviously isn't one of the modern "classic" 10's, and a legitimate, old-school 'classic' 10, often which, are in need of a refinish.
Just got mine back, wow! Night and day. Thanks S&W.
Thanks for your input. Do you know how much they charge? I have my pops old model 10 that he carried as a DoD policeman years ago. Thanks
$225
$225
Is it extra for prep work or polishing? Or is it all included with price
All included in the price.
Something beautiful just happened. Keep up the good work S&W! I look forward to more of these awesome videos.
I'm in love ...one of my favorite revolvers in the world

Great video. I currently have a model 4046 at the performance center right now for refurbishing. Can’t wait to see the final product.
Proud owner of my own Model 10
BEAUTIFUL!!! Beats the crap otta an UGLY matte finish.

Great job!!!!
Would love to see the model 10 offered with a pencil barrel in your classic line of firearms.
Getting this done to my model 19. The wait times are pretty long (like 5 months +) but it will be worth it!
Did you get yours back yet? If so, how did it come out?
Love this video and gun
Nice! Too bad S&W ruined their revolvers with that stupid Hillary Hole and MIM parts! Also, bring back the hot salt bluing!
I would love to see a more in depth video on this & other performance center guns.

Awesome 👍🇺🇸👊👏
I wish i could send mine in but i live in Canada and they wont let us send any pistol parts anymore. We need more S&W smiths here in Canada
Absolument superbe.
S&W PLEASE MAKE A FEW IN NICKEL AGAIN
I should get my model 10 refinished
Post more videos like this . 👍🏻
Nice...
How long would the wait be if I sent them my model 19-3 nickel to get refinished
I have a model 36 chiefs special no dash that I'm trying to have this done to..... How much would that cost?
$300 +.
Is this service for anyone?
So can I send one to the S&W performance center to be buffed bare and re-blued?
Doesn’t sound like they provide this service anymore
Does doing this really kill the resell value? I recently found a Victory lend/lease in a barn! .38 there’s a bit of rust on the barrel so I was considering this .
🇺🇸🤠👍
Anh cho em hỏi em ở việt nam muốn mua súng rulo trong clip làm sao để mua được?
You can’t
It's to bad Smith & Wesson aren't producing their current production model 10's with pencil barrels...
Curious what that costs
$250-$275 according to their site. www.smith-wesson.com/customer-service/performance-center-precision-gunsmithing
@@FCV0511 Pretty much what I was quoted for a Gen 3 semi auto. Nothing like factory finish unless you trying to go exotic.
Fukkerss....
