The Kinks meet Oasis meet The Who meet the Clash. What a, "supergroup" that would be. Luckily they are all amazing on their own. Love to you both from UK✌
Love the harmonica on that song. From the same album, you should check out the live version of Guess God Thinks I am Able, on the Late Late Show. It’s just Liam and Gem performing, and the song was written by Liam.
I remember at the time Noel saying how this song was spawned from being up all night drunk and they had Velvet Underground song Waiting for My Man on repeat about 100 million times hehee
I have had a quick look but can't see a reaction to "Cast". They are supporting Oasis next year here in UK and Ireland. I'm sure you know them but might be worth a listen? Maybe to, "Alright" ✌
They played "Lyla" live on this episode of CD UK too with Liam on vocals. Edit- Actually I think only Liam's vocals were live dubbed over the top of the album version of the band. I'm sure it's the same here with only Noel live on vocals on this song which is weird.
Steve Jobs once said (before he selfishly died on us, the git) that "artists ship". Such an interesting remark. According to Jobs' slightly chilly creative/commercial metric, Oasis were certainly artists. Just like the Beatles, oddly (and the Stones - moreso, actually). The rest is up to consumer taste, I guess. Brand (band?) loyalty and all that, which should never be underestimated.
Ouuch! I requested this version but from the City of Manchester Stadium, It's way better than this hehe. Gem plays harmonica in more parts, Zack performs an awesome drum outro and it was at the best part of the night in the dusk (bearing in mind that the show started half hour late due to a broken fence at the front row, I was there, 2005 :)
CD UK was a chart show like Top of the Pops. It used to be on late Saturday mornings after the kids' tv shows. All that is gone now, though, was probably replaced by the news or something equally aa boring.
Very underrated track, one of the best on the album.
Man I loved this song when it came out.
For body parts, you could follow Mucky Fingers with Headshrinker or My Big Mouth, but I think you've already done them. At least live anyway
Ha that’s funny about the guy presenter , that’s Dave berry who now hosts the morning show on absolute radio a popular station here
Bonehead's Bank Holiday next 👏👏👏
Simple but cool again....lyrics fantastic again...Thank you so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That was Noel's attempt at Bob Dylan.
Not bad...but not Bob!
In this case it could've been "It's all mimed". Just like on Top Of The Pops
Zak Starky wearing a Beatlesque jacket there!

Genius song..great track from great album..oasis at best in my opinion

Which makes perfect sense when listening to that choon

velevt undergound / waiting for the man vibe and inspiration here. Once we said that... this is one of their finest songs, philosophical lyrics
Reminds me of velvet underground
I think Noel took inspiration from The Velvet Underground on this song, Waiting For The Man specifically.
Nah he just ripped it off lol still love it tho!
Please do I Can See A Liar (Live on French TV 2000)
Oasis
Lol, "Liam would never boycott a performance" 😂😂
He's such an angel that way.

Is this playback, sounds exactly like the record. Cool video though.

❤ try idlers dream , beside to Hindu times
Always thought this was a bit of a plodder, like Hey Now or Force Of Nature. Definitely better live, though.

Gah, our Saturday Morning Cartoons were replaced by BS boring crap as well. The beginning of the most recent decline of Western Civilization.
Always hated this song LOL now listening to it again... I still hate it.
