I don't know Robyn Hitchcock from Alfred Hitchcock, but he has some interesting stuff to say about one of my fave records. It's a brilliant album, uncategorizeable.
Mirror Man is by far the greatest album to me... Tarotplane,... 25th Century Quaker .... Mirror Man - all are like 15 - 20 minutes long tracks of mind-blowing drumming by Drumbo and the Captain at his very best.... Unbelievable great, once you hit the 20th time of listening - and then that music just never gets tired. I have played it over the decades... Amazing.
Trout Mask Replica was the greatest noise of the 60's. Lick my Decals off Baby was the greatest noise of the 70's. Doc at the Radar Station was the greatest noise of the 80's. All from Don Van Vliet.

Artists on artists is always soooo much more revealing, compelling and just plain useful information than the de facto, biopic equivalents of mere journalists.
3rd.coastnyucka, do check out Robyn hitchcock's music. It's very whimsical but passionate(even if you're not always sure what he's talking about) and very charming.

Debatable, but not by much.
They're Beefheart's greatest noisy records for sure. Add Safe As Milk and Clear Spot to that if you insist on having a few tunes.
I loved this record, but after watching this amazing explanation by Mr. Hitchcock I love it even more! 👏👏👏
