Brilliant advice! We need more of this kind of video for complete novices. This really helps avoid those early frustrations that might put most people off.
Great advice thank you 🙏 I’m thinking about going fly fishing never ever done it,lots of course fishing but never fly fishing 🎣 and I’ve always wanted to do it!
Thanks for your comment 👍 @alexhamilton4368 Coarse fishermen generally make good fly fishers 👍 It’ll be a nice change. Although we’ve got a few Beginners things being done in the next month, let us know if there’s anything in particular you want some pointers on and we’ll see if we can include it. Cheers Stu
Hi Darren, If you leave 3 to 4 yards of flyline out PLUS your leader. The main point is to not retrieve all the fly line in though. Its something everyone does when they are starting out and can be a difficult habit to break. Hope that helps, Stu

Thanks for your comment Nicolas. Plenty more to come for Beginners 👍 Cheers, Stu
Just a quick question when you suggest leaving 3 - 4 yards of line to load the rod, does that include the leader, or is it just the main fly line?
