Cyber Crime Awareness Workshop

A cybercrime awareness workshop was held on 18-10-2024 at GIET School of Pharmacy in collaboration with the Crime Investigation Department (CID), Rajahmundry. The topics discussed in the workshop are online privacy, cyber security, identifying cyber threats, and the legal consequences of cybercrimes. Sri. Asma Farheen, Additional Superintendent of Police, emphasized being cautious in online and warned against sharing personal details on social media. Mr. Y. Srinivas, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Rajahmundry advised using strong passwords for email, social media and bank applications to prevent scams. Mr. CH. Venkateshwar Rao, circle inspector of police, Rajahmundry discussed about SIM card related frauds, while Mr. D. Rambabu, circle inspector, Mangalagiri explained the investment fraud and WhatsApp impersonation. The participants of the events are Dr. M.D. Dhanaraju Principal, GIET school of pharmacy, NSS Officer Shaik Meera, Police officials, faculty members and students.
