I didn't know Glen was off the scene. He was WOW.
I was in a funk when Glenn passed away and couldn't listen to any Eagles song for over a year. The Eagles are my favorite band and Glenn is my favorite Eagle
Glenn was (and probably still is) the ULTIMATE MUSICIAN…songwriter, singer, pianist, acoustical guitarist, and a dedicated family man!!!
This is a great version of this classic tune - and I didn't hear it until just now. Well done, Glenn.
Just drove the entire Route. The entire Standin' On the Corner site in Winslow, Arizona has become a Glenn Frey memorial.
Went on Route66 last September and sang Take it easy whilst standing on the corner in Winslow Arizona great memory
Such a fun, snappy rendition, and cool to think that Glenn did take that California trip, venturing from Michigan to the coast to create one of the biggest bands of all time.
What a performance. He leaves us much to early, RIP Glenn
I recently found this legendary mans music and I just love it! It's such a shame that Glenn Frey passed away so soon. You will always be remembered for your amazing music!

It's bittersweet to see Glenn in this clip, and others from the last decade or so of his life. You could tell in appearances that he was becoming very stooped over from the arthritis, which caused the chronic colitis that eventually killed him (by way of the drugs he was taking for it). Such a wonderful man he seemed to be, and such a tender, sweet voice he had. RIP Glenn.
He seemed to be moving ok to me.
He looks well to me.
Even saw The Eagles in Sydney Australia and he performed as if nothing was wrong. Sadly missed Glenn.
The Eagles music was and still is a big part of my life nearly 50 years on.
Lol people don't understand! Doesn't mean you can't move, or good sometimes, just be in terrible pain later. Lots & lots of drugs available these days that work. Autoimmune diseases are terrible, ever heard of flares? Not just something that happens on the sun! Im sure there was times he couldn't get around so good. And he wasn't 80 or 90 years old, he was fairly young. Youth will fade soon for everyone & my how your brains will change; along with your bodies!

I traveled Rt 66 from mid Illinois all thr way to LA with my parents in 58. Don't remember much except the endless plains and the mountains. Then in the later 70s I drove truck. At that time I 40 was mostly done but you had to get off the hwy and run thru a lot of the towns in NM and Az that are mentioned. Somebody always started singing Take It Easy when going thru Winslow. I started vacationing out west in my forties, mostly visiting sibs that moved to Flagstaff and LA area. At times I would get off the big road and run sections of 66. One time I decided to get off in all the towns I had to go thru in the 70s an was a bit surprised by the statues of writer Jackson Browne and Glen and even a flatbed Ford! Pretty cool. I forgot to mention that was in Winslow if there's anyone who didn't know😊
Damn, after that I need to get on the road again!

What a great cover of this song- Glenn Frey could have had a fantastic career as a lounge act. And could that man lindy hop! If this was him in his 60s, he must have been spectacular as a teenager.

I was in the back of a pickup as my step-father and my mother drove from Kansas City, Kansas, to Fontana, California on Route 66.
The way he sings it makes it sound like Big Bad Voodoo Daddy's singing it.

The presence of the pedal-steel player makes this a "western swing" tune, and given Frey's own musical background, that is PERFECT.

Glenn does a nice vocal job here on the hit made famous by Nat King Cole. I was shocked to hear of his death, so soon on the heels of David Bowie and Natalie Cole. These people made the music of my generation, and it's sad to lose them. Hope there aren't any more on the horizon soon.

+Suzy Thompson Me too...I loved Glenn Frey with the Eagles and on his own too, what really saddened me was there was supposed to be a tribute from President Obama to the Eagles at the Kennedy Centre Honors in America last year where they would have been guests of honour while big music stars saluted them with renditions of their songs but it was postponed due to Glenn's' ill health...I guess they thought he would recover enough for it... :-(

Talk about coming full circle. This is a far cry from appearing at California Jam in the 70's singing Eagles songs. Guess it just shows people can change, grow and develop as we all age. Masterfully done however.

This is by far the best version of the song. Glenn was one of the best artists of my 60 years.

That voice is/was a crucial part of the Eagles. Nobody could replace it. No Glenn No Eagles.
The pedal steel is a wonderful and appropriate touch for this song. Bobby Troupe meets Bob Wills -- somewhere around Gallup, New Mexico.
Excellent performance, fun. Love the vocals and the dancing. Love it all. This song is on the "After Hours" album from 2012. I highly recommend.
