I haven't watched the movie in awhile (but I was gifted a 5 pack of Rocky 1-5). And the fact that the 'Mob Boss' is actually a good guy, and told him to do his own thing! That's awesome! 😂 Stallone not only is a good actor, but he wrote this movie! And it's funny to see how the characters were in place to help the character find his goal. But in reality, Stallone wanting to find his place in the world....and it worked out, far beyond what he ever could've believed! We're still talking about this man to this day! And as an icon!

He's made plenty of bad movies, of course, but this film is flawless. (P.S. -- *Before* you watch Creed II, you *must* watch Rocky II, III, and IV. You will not understand the depth of Creed II [including how Apollo and Rocky became such close friends later on] if you don't know the huge backstory from the Rocky films.)
I'm actually editing the reaction for rocky 3 now and I will say you are right. I can see how close they became in part 3. The issue with Adrian is that she was apocalyptically shy. She liked Rocky but as her brother implied, if she didn't break out of that shyness just a little bit, she'd die alone. She needed someone to take the lead. Rocky was the guy to do it and Adrian would say it's the best thing that ever happened.
Very true. I feel bad for Adrian. Between the shyness and living under her brothers thumb in the first movie. I know it's a movie, but I wish she had people in her life besides Rocky, who didn't put her down.

Sly stalone wrote the screen play for rocky, he was offered money to sell it, he would not sell it unless he played rocky, he was so broke he had to sell his dog because he could not afford th food, after the success of rocky he bought his dog bag the rest is history in the greatest franchise ever made in my opinion
Creed comparison - albeit I still haven't seen Creed. Do not forget the difference in 'time' between them and that's 39 years! This was Silvester Stallone's first movie! He wrote it in 3 days! Least we get into 'management'/'production' and all that other stuff that goes on, way different for both. Many as do I consider this to be thee greatest 'sports' movie of all time! A bum from the neighborhood gets a shot at the heavy weight title! Thee Ultimate Cinderella story! Rocky new he couldn't get as far as he did without Micky! He loves Micky, he's been going to his boxing place for 6 years! He trusts Micky! That's why we get that reaction from him when Micky tells him "...its a waste of life." He's probably been liking Adrian for a long time! And she's probably been liking him for a while too! The first time we see him go into the Pet Shop - they talk. She even barely smiles at his joke - looks like they cut some of that out. Nice reaction! Just need to move the video out from in front of your face.
I love this movie so much. It's almost not fair to compare it to creed because this movie hits levels I don't think Creed was aiming for. But that's just my opinion. Also, I have recently updated the format for my movie reactions, so my face is no longer hiding behind the video lol. The other reactions are better with that, but the terminator reaction is gonna be the first movie reaction with the recent format.
I say that this movie is the best; it won Best Picture which I know doesn't guarantee much but it does say something about the critical acclaim it got at the time (and still does today). Part 2 is a sequel, and I'm not a big fan of sequels in general but this one does as much as you can ask. It's not a cheap copy of the first movie, and it does build upon the characters in a meaningful way. Part 3 is a fun movie; that's all I can really say about it. The artistry is mostly gone by this point, but if you want to have a good time watching a popcorn flick then it's worth seeing. I don't like any of the movies after that. Many people will disagree with me on that, but as I said before, I set really high when it comes to sequels. I want something new and fresh, I want to like the characters and story based on what happens in the current film, not rely upon nostalgia. Very, very few sequels pass that test for me; the fact that I like II and III is already high praise compared to what I think of most movie franchises.

Yea this first reaction was a DOOSEY. The original format would have had the video larger and my reaction fully showing but you can thank MGM for the re-edit lol.
