    Hey, thanks for uploading this. I have a VW Golf Blumotion TDI and the number 3 glowplug has gone. The dealership wants to charge £300 for replacing all 4 plugs. I think that is a lot of money considering how quickly you was able to do the work. Your video will help me shop around for a better deal. Thanks again.

    It's totally ok that you haven't done so-to-say preliminary studying there. It just makes things feel much more natural when looking the video. If someone likes he could skip video a bit if liking. What I mean by natural is something different to ie. food making TV shows where someone says couple words, then takes a knife and next it's pulled already made stuff with "we already have it ready". Kinda hilariously simplified 😊
    Btw I'd highly suggest to get one of those cheap magnet and four spring steel claws type flexible pickers. I have one pretty always on hand when working with cars. My favorite cheap and useful tool. Managed to change glow plugs on one merc that I initially looked that I need to remove inlet manifold completely. Managed to use that to insert new plugs from small gaps and could even turn them to threads to then tighten with universal joints and socket. Highly recommended tool for anyone and is virtually free to get.

      I actually get criticised many times for making the video too long, by showing the entire process...

      @@LMAutoRepairs hah, I know the feeling. That's why I usually take it to the car when going to work with it. I guess I'm so clumsy and lazy in the end that I've learned that it'll make things easier for me. Evolution of sorts 😂
      And yeah, you're totally right that you can't please everyone. I've made dozens of proposition list for many people at work, such as how will I build thing X that users would actually like to use and it's actually quite common to get a list of jokes and list of suggestions that pretty much counter each other. Then usually proceed to think and guess how they might want to have it 😊

    Great video/ how to diagnose and replace, indeed complete. To add as info for who cares plugs are 4.4v rated as far as i know. To my surprise tho on this 1.6 all 4 plugs are the same, on some variations of this class on engine EA 288 cylinder 4 glow plug has a extra pressure sensor built in ( which makes no4 more expensive).

    Any ideas if the fault codes keeps coming back after replacing glow plugs (good BOSH ones) and clearing old fault codes, ( AUTEL MaxiCom) but after driving for a few days faults came back again with an engine light on and glow plugs circuit low input again, it was one faulty, then other two later in the day and came back to where it was at the beginning, before replacement - 3 glow plugs faulty only one good, any ideas what could cause this? Thank You!

    Great video. I have the same issue where cylinder 3 glow plug pressure sensor is low. I have fitted the new glow plug with the pressure sensor however EPC light still shows on the dash and still has the same code. Could this be a damaged connector which sits on top? What would be the best course of action? Thank you :)

    What does check childlock mean

    • @LMAutoRepairs
      @LMAutoRepairs  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi
      You misread the message...
      Says "safe lock"... not childlock....
      It is also known as dead lock...
      Is just telling you that the dead lock or safe lock as they called it, is activated.
      So, when you lock the car, it can't be unlocked/opened even from the inside...
      You can deactivate this option on the car's menu, if I am not mistaken...
      Hope that makes sense...
