Thanks for placing Ghost that high up 🙏🏻🙌🏻🙏🏻 Considering their image it’s essential for fans of classic melodic rock with KILLER songs and production. Definitely the best rock sound released in 2022 IMO. You rock!! 👊🏻🙌🏻♥️🎸
Happy to hear you liking Impera so much. Most bands I listen to have already had their "hayday" or stopped completely, but with Ghost which is my favourite band, it's delightful seeing them recognized and loved more and more every year. I still remember reading comments during the Meliora era of people claiming they will be big, which I didn't unfortunately really believe knowing the state of the music industry these days. So happy seeing Tobias Forge finally making it big.

Hey Brendon…another great video 👍. Nice list. Many of them I haven’t gotten around to listening to, or aren’t familiar with. Def Leppard’s album, I really, really, REALLY, wanted to love it. I played it for probably 2 weeks solid when it released, and it never really got it’s hooks into me sadly. I’ll revisit it over Xmas, but I think I still prefer the 2015 release. Journey’s album, which I bought as well, has some really good tunes on it, but I really am not a fan of the production. And they managed to do what many bands can’t, completely rip off one of their own songs lol I’m forgetting plenty but off the top of my head, my top albums of 2022 were… Generation Radio - Generation Radio Perfect Plan - Brace For Impact Black Swan - Generation Mind Stryper - The Final Battle Really enjoy the channel and the format you have Cheers from Sydney 👍

Hi Brendon, great picks. I own none of them but am especially interested in the Queen and Fleetwood Mac box sets. I wanted to tell you that I saw Goblin play the soundtrack to Suspiria last night while the film was being shown. Then they played a second set of various songs from their other albums. Now I want to buy the box set of their soundtracks but I see it is sold out on Amazon. I recommend you get Suspiria to check out their sound. Cheers!

Don’t think I’ve got 20 brand new albums this year, but off the top of my head, the best ones from what I have purchased/received are, Thunder, Ugly Kid Joe, Skid Row, Dead Daises and Joanne Shaw Taylor.
House Of Lords, Midnight Oil, Michael Schenker Group, Black Swan, Ozzy Osbourne and Skid Row all released great albums. I would also pick Stratovarius "Survive", Battle Beast "Circus Of Doom", Treat "The Endgame", Enemy Eyes "History's Hand", Wildness "Resurrection", Grand "Grand" and Ginevra "We Belong To The Stars".
Ghost "Impera" is my number one album of 2022 and number one album of the past 20+ years. It was such a revelation to me and I'm still so hooked on it. It's like "Fire of Unknown Origin" meets "Empire." Just brilliant.

Rock Believer - Scorpions 2. Patient Number 9 - Ozzy Osbourne 1. Diamond Star Halos - Def Leppard
Both Skid Row and Def Leppard on top...I totally agree! No other albums really came close to these. A short nod, though, to Out of This World (with ex-Europe guitarist Kee Marcello).
Cool list. Thanks. For me, 1) The Cult - Under The Midnight Sun 2) Sami Yaffa - The Innermost Journey To Your Outermost Mind. 3) OFF! - Free LSD 4) Tribute to John Anderson - Something Borrowed Something New 5) Wet Leg 6) both Jack Whites The Sami Yaffa is killer. Hanoi lives but better. Cults best record. See em live. The Off is otherworldly rockin good. Wet Leg have fun with rockin tunes. 81 again. John Anderson is such a great songwriter. Up there with anyone.
Brendon- You cover a lot of ground, and that's a quality I can admire. My top 5 albums ranked alphabeticaly: An Abstract Illusion - Woe Fit For an Autopsy - Oh What The Future Holds Lilith's Revenge - Children from Eden Nordic Union - Animalistic Skid Row - The Gang's All Here
You missed two great rock albums you should definitely check out: Halestorm - Back from the dead, and The Warning - Error. Also Alter Bridge's new album was awesome as well.
I love to take Adderall at 3 o’clock in the morning after a good nights sleep get a shower get my car and watch these type of TH-cam videos in the mornings for about three hours I just sit there frozen watching and listening to this stuff I love it.
There weren’t 22 albums in the last year that you liked enough to buy? I generally buy between 90 and 100 new albums a year so narrowing down to 20 or so is very difficult. I hope 2023 is a better year musically for you and you find more that you like.
@@BrendonSnyder I stream a lot and when I really like an album I buy a physical copy of it. I bought much more than 22 records this year, but only a small share where new releases.
The Ghost Album is brilliant is my number 1 album of the year and number 1 show of the year I got to see them for the 7th time at the 02 arena and I got to meet him again in Kingston and have another photo taken with him.
You have a nice and respectful way to express your opinions. Although I'm not on board with all your choices, it was a nice video to watch. I agree on MIdnight Oil's Resist and Ghost's Impera. Both great albums.
Whoa….that is not my take at all. But I’m glad you’re enjoying it. I don’t think any thing can top David Lee Roth’s Skyscraper and Steve Vai’s solo album Alive In An Ultraworld.
my favorite 2022 albums - #1 Journey 'Freedom', which is my pick for BEST NEW ALBUM OF THE YEAR - everyone seems to hate the production - but they FINALLY have songs written for Arnel's voice (instead of him sounding like a Steve Perry Clone) and Neal sounds his best since he was in Hardline, easily their best album since the 1980's. #2 Skid Row 'The Gang's All Here' (my runner up for new album of the year - the new singer sounds amazing and the band went back to their roots - it sounds like the missing album between their debut and 'Slave to the Grind') #3 Ghost 'Impera' #4 Def Leppard 'Diamond Star Halos' (their best new album since 'Adrenalize') #5 Julian Lennon 'Jude' (he sounds so much like his dad on this) #6 Megadeth 'The Sick, The Dying... And The Dead!' #7 Scorpions 'Rock Believer' #8 Ozzy 'Patient No. 9' #9 Kirk Hammett 'Portals'
Nah, 'Freedom' was an insult to fans. Only 6 or 7 songs have potential. Unlistenable cheap production of poorly written demos. And this from my favourite band.
Other rock albums of the week were David Bowie toy box Elvis Costello and the imposters John Mellencamp Korn Eddie Vedder Bryan Adams The two jack white titles Legendary slide guitarist Bonnie Raitt Solo record store day release from Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett Arcade Fire Florence and the machine Wilco Shinedown Goo Goo Dolls Panic at the disco Ska band, dirty heads Bjork The Beatles revolver reissue (2 CD) Phoenix The Bruce Springsteen covers album Neil Young and crazy horse The Tom Petty live box
Let's see an episode of the best reissues of 2022... Beatles revolver and KISS creatures of the night should be in the top ten.. Blondie box also...lots of good stuff came our way in 2022.

My top 10 albums of 2022: 1. Battle Beast - Circus Of Doom 2. Scorpions - Rock Believer 3. Blind Guardian - The God Machine 4. Megadeth - The Sick, The Dying... And The Dead! 5. Def Leppard - Diamond Star Halos 6. Grave Digger - Symbol Of Eternity 7. Avantasia - A Paranormal Evening With The Moonflower Society 8. Billy Idol - The Cage EP 9. Sammy Hagar And The Circle - Crazy Times 10. Journey - Freedom Honorable Mention: John Mellencamp - Strictly A One-Eyed Jack Disappointments (for me): Ozzy Osbourne - Patient Number 9 - Not a bad album, but I was disappointed because I expected something better with all the hype and all-star musicians he brought in for his (supposedly) final album. If this will indeed be his final album, I wanted him to go out with a bang and this didn't live up to what I was hoping for. Also, of Ozzy's 3 most recent albums, I prefer both Scream and Ordinary Man more than Patient Number 9. The title track is pretty good and is probably the best song on the album. Queensryche - Digital Noise Alliance - Music itself was pretty good, but I just can't get used to Todd La Torre's vocals. Same could be said about his 3 other fronted albums. I guess I'm more of a Tate fan than a La Torre fan. By the way, saw Queensryche in concert back in October of this year when they opened up for Judas Priest. It was an enjoyable show by both bands. I enjoy La Torre in concert just fine, but I just can't get used to him on the albums. Kreator - Hate Uber Alles - Never was a big fan of Kreator but like a few of their albums. The hype and early reviews convinced me to buy this album as I was expecting something that would compare to their best albums that I do like. I was wrong and the main reason was the vocals. The music within, though, is some killer Thrash. Saxon - Carpe Diem - My brother and the good reviews this album got convinced me to buy this (a few months after release.) Based on what my brother said and what I read in the reviews, I was expecting this album to be comparable to their classics from the late '70s and '80s, along with some saying Biff had never sounded better. Well, I gave this one listen and immediately it didn't live up to their classics and in no way does Biff sound as good as he did 40-45 years ago. I even gave it a few more listens in case maybe it would grow on me or it would sink in. Didn't happen. So, I stored it away with my Saxon collection.
I only included albums of new original material. Since Toy Box was archival material from 2001, I didn’t consider it. However it did make the countdown for the Top 10 Best Boxsets of 2022 which will post tomorrow.
brother ive had the biggest fleetwood binge ever lol i need to ask i know the Hate are u a Manson fan at all?? keep in mind reality lol modern manson is how Michael was
I had an album of The Week each week this year. The 2 Red Hot Chili Peppers albums, Tears For Fears, Megadeath, Ozzy Osbourne, Journey and Def Leppard we're all albums of of the week this year.
No Iconic?? Second Skin is an amazing album with Joel Hoekstra and Michael Sweet. Also Tommy Aldridge and Marco Mendoza. The vocals and guitars alone make it such a great record. Nathan James is on Vocals and he’s great on this!!!Listen to it!!!!
Haha…not sure what that means but it made me laugh so thank you! However, if the concern is that she wasn’t represented in the countdown, while I respect her and love her new guitarist Nita Strauss, I’m not a fan of Demi’s. It’s just not my cup of tea as I’m sure you could tell by the other bands included in my countdown. That said, I’m sure she will make lots of other Top 10 lists this year. Happy Holidays!
My list is just a beta version, there are quite a few 2022s that I haven't heard enough, or at all yet. It will probably look a lot different in a month, or a year! 1. Chez Kane - Powerzone 2. Dare - Road To Eden 3. Dreamtale - Everlasting Flame 4. Månegarm - Ynglingaättens Öde 5. Veonity - Elements Of Power 6. Sabaton - The War To End All Wars 7. Dragonland - The Power Of The Nightstar 8. Power Paladin - With The Magic Of Windfyre Steel 9. Terra Atlantica - Beyond The Borders 10. Generation Radio - Generation Radio 11. Treat - The Endgame 12. Victorius - Dinosaur Warfare Pt. 2 - The Great Ninja War 13. Grand - Grand 14. Lustre - A Thirst For Summer Rain 15. The Halo Effect - Days Of The Lost 16. Palace - Once 4 The Road 17. Avantasia - A Paranormal Evening With The Moonflower Society 18. Wildness - Resurrection 19. House Of Lords - Saints And Sinners 20. Blind Guardian - The God Machine 21. Stratovarius - Survive 22. Amorphis - Halo
Surprised to see Journey there. Essentially, it's a collection of demos. 6 or 7 songs have potential, but need reworking. The rest are poor fillers. The overall dreadful production is impossible to ignore. Easily, the worst album by a major band in 2022. How they asked money for it is astonishing.
Prepays you don’t think the songs are developed enough but they’re no demos as they’re completed tracks. And while production could have been better I don’t find it as bad as you describe. My only issue is that I don’t care for some of Arnel’s vocals. I’ve heard him sing better. But he’s starting to get up their in years now too.
Enjoyed your list Brendon. My top 10 would be.
1. Stryper - The Final Battle
2. Saxon - Carpe Diem
3. Evergrey - A Heartless Portrait
4. Scorpions - Rock Believer

Cheers!
Yeah both the Queen and Fleetwood Mac boxes are highly recommended. The Fleetwood Mac boxset was RSD so you may have to search eBay for one.
Nice job, Brendon!

I didn’t care for the new Def Leppard at first but I started to take a really good listen to it and I ended up ordering a copy last night.
Hi Brandon, where did the box set video go? I was watching and it disappeared in the middle...
I deleted it briefly so I could re-upload and fix a viewing issue. See link for the re-uploaded version th-cam.com/video/bAR8kAD30VI/w-d-xo.html
@@BrendonSnyder Awesome! Thank you, Brandon!
The Scorpions, Def Leppard and The Red Hot Chilli Peppers are all awesome this year.. Greetings from Hoboken, NJ.. )^_-)/
Don’t think I’ve got 20 brand new albums this year, but off the top of my head, the best ones from what I have purchased/received are, Thunder, Ugly Kid Joe, Skid Row, Dead Daises and Joanne Shaw Taylor.
Agree 100% with Def Leppard as #1. Listened to the album beginning to end over and over like I did albums from the 80s/early 90s.
Have you listened to A-Z with Ray Alder singing.Thats my number 1 for the year. The new Threshold album would be number 2.
My number one of 2022 is The Cult - Under The Midnight Sun. It needs time to shine.
here after watching the Best of 2023 video
Awesome! I hope you enjoyed them both!
Ghost "Impera" is my number one album of 2022 and number one album of the past 20+ years. It was such a revelation to me and I'm still so hooked on it. It's like "Fire of Unknown Origin" meets "Empire." Just brilliant.
Blue Oyster Cult playing Bon Jovi songs is what it is.

@@BrendonSnyder That one is awesome!!
Both Skid Row and Def Leppard on top...I totally agree! No other albums really came close to these. A short nod, though, to Out of This World (with ex-Europe guitarist Kee Marcello).
Cool list. Thanks. For me,
1) The Cult - Under The Midnight Sun
2) Sami Yaffa - The Innermost Journey To Your Outermost Mind.
3) OFF! - Free LSD
4) Tribute to John Anderson - Something Borrowed Something New
5) Wet Leg
6) both Jack Whites
The Sami Yaffa is killer. Hanoi lives but better. Cults best record. See em live. The Off is otherworldly rockin good. Wet Leg have fun with rockin tunes. 81 again. John Anderson is such a great songwriter. Up there with anyone.
My Top 3 is: 1/ The Cult 2/ King's X 3/ Ozzy. Some awesome releases in 2022. Cheers.

My top 5 albums ranked alphabeticaly:
An Abstract Illusion - Woe

Lilith's Revenge - Children from Eden
Nordic Union - Animalistic
Skid Row - The Gang's All Here
You missed two great rock albums you should definitely check out: Halestorm - Back from the dead, and The Warning - Error. Also Alter Bridge's new album was awesome as well.
I did give them a listen but they’re not my cup of tea. However I’m glad you like them! Where would they rank in your list?
I love to take Adderall at 3 o’clock in the morning after a good nights sleep get a shower get my car and watch these type of TH-cam videos in the mornings for about three hours I just sit there frozen watching and listening to this stuff I love it.
I don't have 22 new albums. But some really good ones are: Sleeping Karma - Atma, The Cult, King Buffalo, Ozzy and recently the new Elder album.
I bought much more than 22 records this year, but only a small share where new releases.
some good ones on there but you missed - Kurt Vile: Watch My Moves, Sloan: Steady, The Sadies: Colder Streams and John Doe: Fables in a Foreign Land
Haven’t seen noodle much around in your videos lately. Has he been banished from your music room?
Scorpions 'Shining of Your Soul' from that album is just amazing - old school stuff...
The new Album (CD) Via/Gash (2023)blows all his other albums to the curb. Just blew my socks off. 👍
Whoa….that is not my take at all. But I’m glad you’re enjoying it. I don’t think any thing can top David Lee Roth’s Skyscraper and Steve Vai’s solo album Alive In An Ultraworld.
my favorite 2022 albums -
#1 Journey 'Freedom', which is my pick for BEST NEW ALBUM OF THE YEAR - everyone seems to hate the production - but they FINALLY have songs written for Arnel's voice (instead of him sounding like a Steve Perry Clone) and Neal sounds his best since he was in Hardline, easily their best album since the 1980's.
#2 Skid Row 'The Gang's All Here' (my runner up for new album of the year - the new singer sounds amazing and the band went back to their roots - it sounds like the missing album between their debut and 'Slave to the Grind')
#3 Ghost 'Impera'
#4 Def Leppard 'Diamond Star Halos' (their best new album since 'Adrenalize')
#5 Julian Lennon 'Jude' (he sounds so much like his dad on this)
#6 Megadeth 'The Sick, The Dying... And The Dead!'
#7 Scorpions 'Rock Believer'
#8 Ozzy 'Patient No. 9'
#9 Kirk Hammett 'Portals'
Black Rain by Ozzy came out in 2007. You’re thinking of Patient Number 9😉
@@montanahalesbass yes, thanks
@@billymuellerTikTok yessir👍🏼
Good choice for #1 - it's a fine album
Nah, 'Freedom' was an insult to fans. Only 6 or 7 songs have potential. Unlistenable cheap production of poorly written demos. And this from my favourite band.
Brendon, you should check out Canadian Rick LaBontè's album "Livin' It Up" and the new Imperial Age "New World"
Thanks 👍
Other rock albums of the week were

My top 10 albums of 2022:
1. Battle Beast - Circus Of Doom
2. Scorpions - Rock Believer
3. Blind Guardian - The God Machine
4. Megadeth - The Sick, The Dying... And The Dead!
5. Def Leppard - Diamond Star Halos
6. Grave Digger - Symbol Of Eternity
7. Avantasia - A Paranormal Evening With The Moonflower Society
8. Billy Idol - The Cage EP
9. Sammy Hagar And The Circle - Crazy Times
10. Journey - Freedom
Honorable Mention:
John Mellencamp - Strictly A One-Eyed Jack
Disappointments (for me):
Ozzy Osbourne - Patient Number 9 - Not a bad album, but I was disappointed because I expected something better with all the hype and all-star musicians he brought in for his (supposedly) final album.
What you all missed is "Error" by "The Warning". Depends on your taste, of course, by it is in my top-list for sure.
Pixies, placebo, tears for fears, midnight oil
Toy box would have to make my list just on the album cover alone.
I only included albums of new original material. Since Toy Box was archival material from 2001, I didn’t consider it. However it did make the countdown for the Top 10 Best Boxsets of 2022 which will post tomorrow.
What about Alter Bridge Pawns and Kings?
I’m not a fan of Alter Bridge but I do like Myles Kennedy with Slash.
You skipped over the Captain’s choice of best album of the year. Cats in Space “Kickstart The Sun”. A masterpiece that shouldn’t be missed. Cheers
Def Leppard #1 yes! The band is maturing incredibly well. This CD is loaded with ear candy. Love it!
I agree and it’s one of their best albums from their career too.
brother ive had the biggest fleetwood binge ever lol i need to ask i know the Hate are u a Manson fan at all?? keep in mind reality lol modern manson is how Michael was
No, never able to fully get into his music.
@@BrendonSnyder brother please give 90 mins of your time to listen to LEST WE FORGET a amazing volume of mansons hits/ from metal to pop rock
he was literally our modern Bowie
@@BrendonSnyder with tool n APC broter do u maybe see its like godlike n that level
Priest was a great album, Alter bridge was also great.
I had an album of The Week each week this year. The 2 Red Hot Chili Peppers albums, Tears For Fears, Megadeath, Ozzy Osbourne, Journey and Def Leppard we're all albums of of the week this year.
Have to say Ghost is my #1, no not a perfect album but some great stuff on there for sure.
Ghost is really great.
Witch fever : congregation, a musical slap from manchester

unlimited love better than return of the dream canteen?
It’s the other way around
@@BrendonSnyder i agree but i didnt see dream canteen in this list
Then you have to pay attention more or not fast forward because it’s there.
No Nestor? "Kids in a Ghost Town (Deluxe Edition) tops everything on this list. Not even close.
Zach Bryan, Whiskey Myers and Koe Wetzel also released some good albums.
No Iconic?? Second Skin is an amazing album with Joel Hoekstra and Michael Sweet. Also Tommy Aldridge and Marco Mendoza. The vocals and guitars alone make it such a great record. Nathan James is on Vocals and he’s great on this!!!Listen to it!!!!
I tried the def leppard. I prefer the self titled from 2015
Holy Fvck Demi Lovato is so slept on
Haha…not sure what that means but it made me laugh so thank you!
Halestorm back from the dead album of the year skid row close second
Def Leppard?.😢
Absolutely!
@@BrendonSnyder only first 4, sorry

Yes I would agree
Weird. For me Skid Row is number one. And I hate Def Leppard….everybody has a different taste…
Yeah not every band is for every one.
Ghost ? In the rankings so low 🤷🏼♂️ one off the best sold in 2022 well is your channel.
I’m not basing any of the rankings on sales.
I’m a big Ghost fan, the new album is my least favorite album by them.
Seriously?
Like cancer!
