For the first time in a long while I have learned of the existence of large animals that I didn't know, I salute the work put into this video and this channel in general.
Even though the Blue Wildebeest is one of my favourite animals, I must say that the blesbok and topi are severely underrated.

Stunning watching them in their natural habitat. As someone who only knew them as game animals growing up, I have a soft spot in my heart for Antelope in general.
We had view antelope subspecies as pets growing up in kenya and somalia. And one of them was royal antelope its the smallest antelope subspecies weighing only 2.5kg fully grown. We also had gerenuk also known girrafe gazelle
@@dahabizizy Fun fact about the Royal Antelope; the fawns are born at up to 1/3rd the mother's weight, which is like a Human woman giving birth to a baby the size of a 6-year-old.
This is something I read somewhere. Zebras and wildebeesten often live together because the zebras eyes are on tue side while the beests have them in front. Together they have a larger range to spot danger. on the livestream of Africam they are always together.

The Black Wildebeest specifically reminds me of the description of the ""legend" or lore of the "catoblepas" however it is now considered to be any of the wildebeest/gnu species.
Wildebeests being known as gnus is very similar to hartebeests also being known as kongonis.
You should make a video about the spiral horns. Southern/eastern greater Kudu,lesser kudu, nyala, mountain Nyala, cape eland, Livingston eland, lord derby eland, Western/eastern Bongo, sitatunga, forest sitatunga, and all subspecies of bushbuck.

In South Africa, the nickname for the blesbok is a Freestate Donkey. They and black wildebeest have a good taste as well and is popular with hunters.

Definitely the greatest Mammalian migration, but you can definitely argue that many birds have greater migrations, some flying over 40 times further than the Wildebeest walk, flying over oceans during storms, etc. but at the end of the day, it's all opinion isn't it! This was an awesome video! ☺️

One thing you missed in the information about Mount Kilimanjaro. Yes it is a National Park ... But the photos (clips) shown are not from that park but from Amoseli National Park in Kenya, just across the border from Tanzania. Other than that ... Great video!!!

I still wonder about the term "antelope". It seems a taxonomic catch-all for every critter that isn't a cow, deer, or sheep/goat.
Yeah you’re right, and bovid that isn’t a cow sheep or goat is an “ antelope” I wish we didn’t have the word, just lumps all these creatures into lion-feed, these guys closest relatives are the group containing oryx/addax/roan antelope/giant sable antelope

I think they are actually antelopes and not cattle, even though they don’t look like it.

Not every Nyasaland wildebeest have white stripe
Lichtensteins hartebeest is different species, not only subspecies, same probably red hartebeest. Some scientist recognize all subspecies as different species.

@jirizimola2099, actually, both the lichtenstein's hartebeest and red hartebeest are subspecies of one of only two valid hartebeest species, which is the Southern Hartebeest (Alcelaphus caama), the coke's hartebeest is also part of the southern hartebeest species, so, there are only two valid hartebeest species: the Northern Hartebeest (Alcelaphus buselaphus) and the Southern Hartebeest (Alcelaphus caama).

Excellent informative video! It always makes me sad hearing about things in Africa that would definitely have had names assigned by the native peoples- animals and lakes and such- given names by the Europeans who "discovered" them. Lake Victoria, Lichtenstein's hartebeest, etc.

I think its worth mentioning because its very insulting to call that lake victoria its already had a name for 1000s of years lake Luganda
It would be pretty cool if you can make a detailed video of how hunting helps conservation, ensures genetic diversity and how important it is for first world countries paying big money to do so.. Thus helping the community etc... Especially in fenced areas. Ideally it would have been awesome if we could have just fenced ourselfves in and let nature roam free and continue to do as it does.. Unfortunately poaching yea... Please man it would be a tremendous effort to do it myself.
Ooo and how to do so ethically not just shoot tame animals.. That's not hunting.. You know like how elephant starve to death and it is more merciful.. Yeaa it is complicated but just do some research and you might make a big difference in conservation
