@darlingcottagediary I had saved the tiny figures that my mom had used. Tiny things like what we used to get in gumball-type machines. Tiny bells, whistles, and little figures including the madona and baby
🌲 I love what you did with the wax and the paperclip. That's so cute. I've just recently bought a wax seal kit (inspired by you). I may put a seal on all my Christmas cards! I also LOVED the bagpipes in the possession. As someone who comes from Scotland. They hold a special place in our hearts. Bagpipes and Tartan 🏴
Thank you so much 🥰 and wax seals are so fun and make cards so special! I bet your recipients will love them 😁 I LOVE bagpipes and drums-it’s the one time a year I get to hear them live, so it’s always a treat! We have a lot of people in the area of Scottish, Irish, and German heritage, so I’m not surprised we have multiple bands with traditional instruments 💙 I love the Scottish bagpipes, the Irish Bodhrán and the German lutes-we’ve had some bands play them all together and it sounds incredible
🎄Love your story about the book reading. Books are my favorite things, and this is a favorite Christmas read of mine. Love your collage and thanks for sharing your thoughts on a beautiful day!
The Night Before Christmas by Clement C Moore. I have a beautiful copy of this poem in the form of a little book centered around a mouse family. Every year I would read it to my daughter on Christmas eve. Good times
this was so fun to watch while starting my 2025 reading journal! for some reason my favorite part of the page is the tiny photo of you floating 🤣 it reminds me a lot of old vintage magazines (before photography started becoming the norm) 🎄 the parade event sounds so fun and i did not know that about galveston - imagining the south (especially texas) having its own version of new york is crazy to think about now.. and the industrial smog is so real the story about the walnuts is so sweet 💕💕 it’s also making me wonder how many translations we have now came from that time period 🤔 and i love the conversation about modern technology and overstimulation - i actually deleted my tiktok account because i felt like i doomscrolled way too much and was seeing discourse and discussions about things that don’t necessarily matter outside of that niche bubble - i love to hear about humans loving human things - whether it live music or beautiful stories told by other people and hmm i just recently read snowed in by catherine walsh - a christmas romance story and it was so fun! fake dating, childhood friends to lovers set in ireland it was sooo good i gave it 4/5 stars ✨ and “baby it’s cold outside” definitely a classic probably my favorite christmas song!
Awe yay! I’m such a slow reader lately, this year my reading journal and event scrapbook are in the same journal 😅 Snowed In has been recommended to me before, so good to know multiple people think it’s good 🥰 Sooooo many traditions from what I understand came from the Victorian’s 😅 I’m excited to sink my teeth into that book I just got about all of it! And giiiirrrrrl-I would delete TT and IG if I didn’t have my business pages for the same reason. If I get too deep on a scroll, I’ll turn the grayscale on my phone on and that helps disengage from it, but yes-getting upset about conversations and topics that literally do not affect me is an issue 🙈 I’m glad it sounds like you’re enjoying cozy season so far 🥰🎄
you should definitely check out snowed in! some of the verbiage they use is kinda online but other than that i was having a blast the entire time! - also omg how do you feel about the cartoon covers? i personally don’t like them 😭 i love historical romance covers back when it was still oil paintings and ughh i feel you - i only have instagram and reddit left, instagram because i’ve been wanting to do a bookstagram page but i try not to doomscroll on reels at least
I like Lemon8 sooooo much better than IG! It’s all books and crafts and recipes and no doom-like if Pinterest (before all the ads) had a baby with old IG is what it’s like 😅 here’s my page: v.lemon8-app.com/s/Oghxfrjbs And don’t EVEN get me started on cartoon covers 🤣 I refuse to buy them. Pretty covers only…the only exception is Butcher and Blackbird/Leather and Lark because my friend gave me a synopsis. I never would have picked them up otherwise and she is painting a pretty cover for us to recover ours because we were so disappointed with the “special edition covers” that just came out
@@darlingcottagediary omg they won’t let me make account without a tiktok 😭😭😭 i’ll follow you in theory 🙂↕️ also i love cosmos! it’s like pinterest too and i like how its color coordinated ^__^ and omg that sounds so fun! i’ve been wanting to remake my book covers (im currently missing a jacket to one of them since it was second hand 🤣) maybe one day also idk if you ever done this theme for ephemera but medieval gothic sounds perfect for the winter time
how did saint nicolaas from the netherlands end up in texas? because here we believe, he resides in spain after he leaves the netherlands after we celebrated his birthday on december 6😂
Feeling inspired to turn my diary into a time machine to the Victorian era. 😍✨ Thank you for sharing this beauty!
My pleasure 🥰 you totally should! It’s fun 😁
I love the book Dickens A Christmas Carol. I bet that was wonderful to hear that man just read.
It really was 🥰 I try to re-read it or at least watch one of the films every year 🎄 definitely my favorite Christmas story
❤❤❤ todo lo de la época victoriana es tan bonito 😍 excelente video del festival 🥰🥰🌹🌹
Thank you so much 🥰🥰 I love the whole era!
I made an advent "calendar" for my granddaughter with walnuts. My mother used to make them for her grandsons.
@@megmiranda9480 awe how sweet! Did you write little notes or what did you put in them?
@darlingcottagediary I had saved the tiny figures that my mom had used. Tiny things like what we used to get in gumball-type machines. Tiny bells, whistles, and little figures including the madona and baby
@megmiranda9480 oh how sweet! I bet she loves that 🥰

Thank you so much 🥰 and yes! “When I have a little money, I buy books; and if I have any left, I buy food and clothes” -Erasmus
Che meraviglia il tuo diario ma anche la tua città ❤
Thank you so much 🥰 I like it for sure 😁
Love this video. It’s hard to choose just one😊❤🎄
Thank you so much 🥰 I know what you mean! So many good ones 🎄
This is a really amazing collage、 This is a really beautiful collage~💕✨🎄✨🥰
Thank you so much 🥰🥰
🎄Thank you for this beautiful project.
My pleasure 🥰 thank you for watching!
I have lived all around Houston several times but I never did the Galveston Dickins on the Strand. I always wanted to but always had to work.
Awe that’s a shame! Hopefully you can go in the future 🥰 it’s so fun!
Christmas ❤🎄
Yessss ✨🎄❤️🌟
The Night Before Christmas by Clement C Moore. I have a beautiful copy of this poem in the form of a little book centered around a mouse family. Every year I would read it to my daughter on Christmas eve. Good times
Oh of course 🥰🥰 I love that story and there are so many gorgeously illustrated versions! Anything with mice wearing tiny clothes? I’m instantly sold 😅
I wonder what Twas the night before Christmas would be like centered around horses to be like. I'm sold on that too.
Oooo yes! Id be down for an Old Western theme of that poem with horses 🥰

Hahaha! I love that! I mean…we’re close to Mexico and A LOT of people speak Spanish here…maybe he got confused? 😆
@darlingcottagediary 😂
