It is pretty incredible for many of us as some sports really would not be where they are today without the support of sponsors, with red bull being the largest for our action sports. For those who sit on the 'freeride' side of their sport, over racing, some careers would not exist without red bull's input. Unique events like rampage and imagination are the focus of many pro riders' entire year. I guess what i'm trying to say is that red bull doesn't just support riders in pushing their sports (like their other sponsors), but actually creates and facilitates the challenge itself. Very unique.
Thank you for sharing your incredible knowledge on this Aaron!! I wish I would’ve came across a video like this years ago! You have completely changed my perspective on getting sponsored, and that’s in the best way possible! 🙏👊
Great information! Former vp of sales for Babolat, sponsored athletes fell on me. It’s wild hearing it from the other end- if you are seeking sponsorship take detailed notes listen to this several times per day. This is your road map
Fantastic video Aaron! As a content creator and podcast host I'm constantly navigating this space and it was really helpful to get this insight into the business. One question, you talked about how to start a partnership, but what are the reasons creators loose sponsorships? For instance, why would companies like Giant leave Jeff Lenosky, and Diamondback leave amazing creators like Seth? Thanks, Sage
“So red bull for example are all about innovation and making the next big thing” got me good considering they make literally one thing lol (Yes, I know they made some new flavours just recently, and I’ve yet to see anyone even say that they even tried them)
They *sell* a single product (in a category that they invented), but they also *make* quite a few things. Media, events, etc. All of those things (like jumping out of space on a livestream) would fall under the category of innovation, don't you think?
Nobody’s getting sponsored unless they are talented and really good at their sport. 😮 I’m a racer. I want a Red Bull helmet and I come in last every Race
What are some ways to build a relationship before actually signing a contract? Could you give us examples of what specific action you took to build the relationship?
This whole video made legitimately no sense. The bloke keeps talking about products which the athlete can develop or promote, but his mainly talking about brands like RedBull (an energy drink), as that’s where his experience is. Plus he said that you past achievements is of little importance, lol are we sure he worked for RedBull, that’s literally what they do. Get guys and girls on board who are the best in there sports. Weird contradictory video tbh!!
Thanks for this video! The hardest part truly is finding the right person within these companies, someone who wants to build that kind of relationship and understand the vision. Someone like yourself is very difficult to find in such a large company overseeing so much. Mannn I feel like we would've killed it with Handball starting in NYC and touring across the country hosting the largest vents the sports ever seen! It's sad to say nowadays although social platforms make it easier to reach people, it's also the problem as to why nobody actually connects anymore. 😵💫 I just happen to get lucky stumbling across your video. Nowadays we'll go through life without knowing what anyone has to offer unless you 'Hawk Tuah' on video 😂. All jokes aside I appreciate the information! Jw have you ever wanted to get involved with a startup for the other side with acquiring sponsorships for an underdeveloped sport? Consider it a challenge with a strong community foundation to start with! I would love to chat sometime if you're curious as to what that might look like, it could be a lot of fun 🦾

This is an amazing knowledge that will help so many athletes. I’ve been thru all this steps and this tips would be great when I started
Thanks! Doing my best to help athletes get started on the right foot. So many people go into this with the wrong expectations of how to do it.

@@secondnaturemediathey are just vehicles to market their products. They aren’t new things imho

I'm going to start a small business in my city and I'll be an indoor soccer center. Would they do an in-kind sponsorship? or anything?
What do you get when they sponsor you
Thank you so much for this video! One day I dream to be on the Redbull Air Force and this offers some fantastic insight. I've got my work cut out :)
You got this!
