Good for you to watch is one of the most famous final quarters in AFL history. Search for, “2005 semi-final, Geelong and Sydney.” You can also get the final five minutes of the game if you want to react to it. Super exciting game. Of the sports you mentioned, AFL is older than all of them. Invented in 1858, Aussie rules was codified before all the others. (Codified meaning played as a regular competition between clubs) Also search for the games absolute modern superstar who is the red-and-white player featured when they said, “these players are basketball sized” (the same guy who made that great diving catch of the ball.) Searce for, “Lance Franklin’s best 23 goals.” This past season he kicked his 1000th career goal. (Only five other players have done that in the history of the game.) you can search for footage of that as well which is unbelievable, because 20,000 people run on to the ground to congratulate him. This footage will blow your mind. Welcome to the greatest game on the planet. Cheers.
@@adamparker9765 I guess we’re even. You beat us easily this time, but it was more fun to torment you guys with Nick Davis just seconds before the siren. Depending on your age, you may or may not remember what your silly Geelong advertiser newspaper did some years ago. The cats had won 29 Games straight at Kardinia Park. They printed the Saturday newspaper on the Friday night, and put HUGE letters all over the front page. “HAPPY 30th.” If there’s one team you don’t tease like that, it’s Sydney. They got up Saturday morning and read the paper. Needless to say, they ruined the front page of the paper. 😹🦢🦢🦢
@@RickyisSwan Any one with a few brains knows what the Ablettizer is like though . I do remember that one to. Nick Davis certainly saved your ass that day , lucky he couldnt miss. As for next year it will be interesting with several teams in the mix . Melbourne , Collingwood, Syd , Richmond will all be strong . The problem is that Geelong Got stronger in the off season with some outstanding young players. That cliff is looking a long way off now.
@@adamparker9765 It’s reasonable that you are not following the current fortunes of Sydney like via their website. An example is a new recruit called Jacob Konstanty, who commentators say is very much like Tom Papley. Dane Rampe just did a video about the players training, and said he was the most impressed with Jacob. What happens if we have two of Tom Papley? That would be a scary proposition for any team. Whilst it’s not an excuse that we lost, but those young players were definitely “overawed” by the occasion. Experience is the best teacher for not only knowing how to handle the “hype” next time, but also the automatic experience and being another year older hence more maturity for the likes of, Chad Warner, (Best Swans player in the GF) Gulden, Stephens, Mc Donald, and the other young players. I think it is folly to just assume that Geelong will go forward and other sides such as Sydney will remain stagnant. The history of other sides falling away after dramatic GF losses will not apply to Sydney. They are a very proud club, and every time I hear a player talking, it’s about how angry they are and how determined they are, not only to repeat the form that got them into the GF in the first place, but also to prove they can go one better. Yes it’s all conjecture about any teams chances, so we shall just have to wait and see. Cheers.
