    My opinion: These sounds are very good for headphones or speakers, but the feeling is like you are listening to a piano track recorded. I mean it is like the player and the piano are not in your same place.
    It is different if you listen to somebody who is playing a good keyboard, this is not just a matter of sound quality or dynamic emolation or other emolations like string resonance and so on.
    For me the piano softwares have not "presence" ... it is like the sounds are made to play on a record, album or CD. They don't have "presence" on a live performance.

    Really nice playing, John, and "Stella" is one of my favorite jazz standards, too. The Ravenscroft 275 seemed to sound a little fuller, richer, and perhaps a little mellower than the other apps. I think it might be my preference for playing ballads, but maybe not songs in which the piano has to cut through other instruments to be heard. Nice comparison - thanks!

      Vinicius Moraes Yeah although it’s warm soft sounding to my ears but I’d pick this too over the brittle highs of Korg. But maybe eq settings can compensate?

    CMP sounds like a real piano as in quite harsh in the mids.

    iGrand the best! It even sounds much better than some vst pro pianos on the market. People are impressed by brands, and do not pay attention to their ears, it is a matter of common sense

    This is a great service you are providing. Thank you. I just ordered the Yamaha MDBT01 wirless bluetooth interface to use with my Ipad Pro and Kurzweil Ensemble Grand. I also purchased Ipiano and Sampletank. I don't see any option to import MIDI files from on-line sources. Is this possible or do these piano apps only play and record performances that you create yourself? I downloaded and app called SuperScore which accepts downloaded MIDI files. I also see my piano apps listed in the setup of SuperScore. However, when I select any of these Piano apps, and try to play downloaded MIDI files, I don't get any sound. I hope I'm just overlooking something simple.

    • @johnnakayama6117
      @johnnakayama6117  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have never imported MIDI flies to iPads so, I'm not for sure about it.
      Just for your reference, when I made midi data on iPad with Garageband, Ravenscroft can read the midi data.
      If you wish to import midi data from out side iPad, I am sorry that I can not help you about it.

    • @jeobrien46
      @jeobrien46 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you John for responding. Midi is new to me. I just managed to get Ravenscroft 275 working on my Ipad using a wireless/bluetooth interface to my keyboard and I am thrilled with the sound. My Kurzweil is 25 years old and needed a sound upgrade. This digital piano app sounds so rich and warm, it's as if I bought a new digital pain to $36.00.

      @@jeobrien46 Hi, how did you get your Ravenscroft piano sound to come out of the iPad and be heard through the piano speakers? Or did you just listen to the sound out of the iPad headphone socket? I have the md-bt01 and can get the iPad to recognise the notes being pressed on the piano keys…but I can not get the sound to come out of the piano…only the iPad speaker.

    Can you assign sound changes to buttons on the midi keyboard? I'm helping my kids with their new instrument and they'd like to assign sounds to midi pads. Pad 1 = piano, Pad 2 = organ, Pad 3 = synth, etc... Any help is appreciated.

    Hello it’s nice to hear you play. I have a question iç you don’t mind. im quite new with ipad Apps. I’d like to haber your opinion on a problem just occured after i uploded ivory grand for my Kore Module. Until i loaded ivory i did not have latency problem with mu i pad pro 10,5 inch. Do you think itiş normal Andıç’ shoul i support i pad with an ext sound card? Thank at advance.

    • @johnnakayama6117

      I never had such a problem.
      You should check buffer size on Korg app.
      Buffer size may be changed after you have downloaded Ivory apps.

      john nakayama thank you. After wrote you about my problem i learned to change latency settings it was setted as 500 level than i redısed it to min latency 65 (don’t remember now ecact number) and it s perfect than. I also tried automatic setting and it resultef fine too. Thank you very much for your reply. Keep up with your music if s pleasure to listem.

    Nice! What’s your MIDI to iPad setup? I got genuine Apple USB connection kit but latency is poor like 1/4 second late. (I’m using unbranded MIDI-USB device).

    • @filipilif
      @filipilif 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The unbranded midi-usb is most likely the reason for the latency. The easiest way is to plugin the midi keyboard via usb but if yours doesn't have it, it's better to invest in a decent midi-usb interface

    Why do all factory presets sound the same? I'm using a new Ipadd Pro 10.5. I start by turning on my keyboard which powers my midi device. then, I open Ravenscroft 275 and select my midi device in the Ravenscroft settings. The result sounds very nice but, when I rotate through all of the preset pianos, I don't hear any difference in the piano sounds. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you.

    • @johnnakayama6117
      @johnnakayama6117  6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      There are only one sound source in Ravenscroft Piano that you can not change the paino sound itself.
      The 10 presets (such as 1-Classic 2-Concert 3-Pop and so on) changes only EQ and reverb, not sound source.
      If you hear no difference, I guess REVERB and EQ switches might be turned off.
      Thank you

    Hey John, great playing! I have the PlugKey and many of these apps as well. I find that Ravenscroft does not play nicely with the Plug Key when I'm playing back a midi piano track from Cubase....terrible MIDI timing issues with random delayed notes. Have you experienced this at all? Korg Module works fine....but the Colossus piano also can give me timing problems from the sequencer. The timing is fine with Bluetooth MIDI, which is kind of slow and also with USB midi it's fine.

    • @johnnakayama6117
      @johnnakayama6117  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Similar problem has happens even with Mac using Cubase.
      When I used windows PC with cubase, latency problem has solved.
      I am not for sure but I guest its problem caused between Mac and cubase.

    Hi how do you connect this to a piano?

    • @anthonycarrillo8390
      @anthonycarrillo8390 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Via Apple's camera connection kit which is an USB adapter. After that you will need an USB B to USB A cable so you can plug your midi keyboard to the adapter. Instead of Apple's camera connection kit I use a Hootoo USB C hub which works pretty well on my iPad Pro 2018 and my Yamaha P125. My Yamaha can play iPad pianos on its speakers so I don't need a headphone out on the iPad. If your piano doesn't have that option then you would need an USB hub that has a headphone out so you can plug it to speakers or heaphones.
