I moved my family here and took my boys AND girls walking rivers and fishing. We couldn't afford floatation..They are grown and you can tell those that stuck with it and those that didn't. I have to figure out how to get this now that I have 22 grandchildren (three of my children amassed all of these grandchildren). The two that didn't have 1 and 2 children out of the 22. (not saying that children aren't great or not to have plenty...just that you need to stay centered, get yourself together and the rest will come.)....Thanks for a true family oriented video. I still believe that this gives our children options when there friends say let's hang out in the streets...from a true OG. We ALL Want the Best for Our Children...Love Em and Hold Them...Enjoy Life...(PS one of my sons (the one that stuck to it) moved to Oregon...wasn't enough for him here anymore...lol...lost my best friend, but as a parent have never been more proud....
I have a OK T13 and a wildly ride115. You folks at Jackson kayaks are taking over the fishing scene. I am amazed at how many features your stuffing into your kayaks. Great Job!!!
I have been looking at getting my first kayak for some time now and I think I have pretty much narrowed it down to a jackson kayak... Not only are you guys making some the the best yaks I've seen on the market your customer service is awesome as well, even responding back to people on the TH-cam vids. Keep it up guys
Great job advertising it. Of course it's old video. But I finally got Jackson Big Tuna kayak , and I love it!! I had few kayaks, but this is one I like the best!! Awesome!! I saw this few years ago, and always thinking about buying it. Found one used and the color I wanted and, I enjoy it alot. Great fish with friends and family, just take and kayak, and whoever go's with you, have great chairs sit on.
Wow, what a boat. I have a 5 yr old son who loves to fish with dad but the only tandem boat we have is a 15' SINK. Not really what I need to take him with me. My WS Ride 115 is a great solo boat, but this boat looks exactly like what I need. You guys really thought of everything. I 'm sold. I will have one for the 2013 season.
excellent kayak, bought a big tuna, I'm awaiting your arrival here in Brazil ... and has a staff here of Brazil who entered this wave of jacksons! parabens by kayaks
Whats up Drew, It's Mack from Desert Adventures in Vegas--we're deep into our fishing program now, and I had no idea that this boat has a live well in it--I can't believe how awesome this rig is. Hope all is well buddy, hit me up when you come through town again
I just got my Big Tuna a few weeks ago. I've been out twice and it's everything they claim it is. Me and my buddy meet Drew at the Paddle Sport show in Jersey. It did take a while to get it but it was worth the wait.
Hey Drew, I just saw the "extreme fishing" show you were on. I plan on hitting the Devils river soon to do what y'all did..... Minus the anklet you were wearing. Damn, that looked painful!
I am waiting for info on the big rig... I was almost set on the the big tuna, but big rig looks sweet esp since I planned on using solo anyway and had no need/want for the tuna tank
Can you tell me about the places for screw ball mounts? I know that there is 2 at the bow, 2 more for the front tandem paddler and another 2 near the stern and flush mount area. When it is set up in a solo paddle position with the tank well open behind the seat as seen at 5:08, is there any near the handles or does the paddler have to reach behind them to grab the rod from the holder? Saw some at 9:34, were those after market install?
I got a big tuna a few weeks ago and love everything about it so far... One question, in this vid at 2:23 you have the 2 kids sitting back to back - what seats are you using?
I just don't see this as a kayak. It's like a whole new type of boat with the form factor of a kayak with the capacity of a canoe and the stability of some type of river raft. Pretty cool!
Hey Drew. Do you think the big tuna would be suitable for areas such as the Devils River for camping/ fishing? How about in tandem configuration? I will mainly be using it for saltwater flats and bay fishing/ camping in tandem, but would also like to do some Devils River and Upper Guadalupe fishing and camping in it, if not in tandem, at least in solo. Please tell me your thoughts on this. Thank you, and keep up the fishing videos!
Drew, This video has definitely motivated my wife and I to get a Big Tuna. My question is the new 2013 Big tuna, how many GoPro and Ram mounts there are and there locations? Or would it be worth saving a few hundred bucks and get the 2012 and install the mounts myself?
Drew, do the seats setup in the three or four person configuration have mounts for the seats or are they just geri-rigged to sit in place? Reason why I ask is that I am thinking of purchasing the Tuna so that I can take my two kids with me when I go out. I already have the Coosa, but I can't get an extra seat in it when I take my son with me. He just sits in the back. I just need to know if you had to modify the extra seats to fit properly. Thanks!!
are the foam blocks in the kayak supposed to be removed? I still have the foam blocks in both my Big Tuna and Cuda 12. I am asking because it has been in the for a year now, and for the Big Tuna I need to access the inner hull at the livewell area. I won't be able to reach unless the foam is removed. But I cannot get the centre block to remove without breaking it in half. Please help me as soon as possible!
Can the rudder by used when the seat is the rearmost position? I picked up a used Tuna with the rudder already installed - but with the rear seat set all the way back I'm not even close to reaching the pegs ( I'm 6 ft. ). I'm trying to figure out if this is by design or if there is a configuration I can change.
This kayak looks awesome. Hopefully it's not a major disappointment like the Cuda was. @ sailmatt: On the Cuda the rudder worked great! Not sure how it works on the Big Tuna.
What are those accessory pockets called that you have on there in the back? You say they are extra, but I do not see them for the big tuna on the Jackson web site. Are they the same as the ones for the Cuda and Coosa?
Hey Drew quick question. I try to order the cooler bag for my big tuna on line today and it says it's unavailable. Is it not ready yet or are you guys out of them already? I'm going away with the kayak next week for a 4 day weekend and would love to have it.
I'm helping my neighbor sell her Jackson Big Tuna 4 seater kayak. It's only been used twice. Her husband passed away relatively recently and she's also selling her home and moving back to Sweden permanently. Any questions, initially ask me here and from here we can go more private...
!00 of the ways for the seat is them floating out in the water as they do not strap down tight the pouch under the seat useless as the straps in the way dont put any thing in the live well you want to keep dry they sure make this thing look good on video on calm water. This thing is impossible to mount any thing as it is so concealed.Jackson should have looked at old town seats and made theirs to snap in then they are secure.Jackson needs to improve the live well hatch also try and get into it in solo position.
Well got my big tuna out on a solo ride as you see in this video he has the seat in the high position so that the front can be strapped down not where you really want the seat on the high position in rough water so in the low position there is no way to strap the seat down I had to put a strap all the way around the kayak and over the seat so you could at least lean back with out that strap you just fall over. On the positive side went down some rapids and felt very safe but I would not have bought this kayak had I tried it out first and seen how poorly it is set up. So before you buy one try it out first don't make the mistake I did AND GET YOUR SELF A 250 OR 260 PADDLE WITH WIDE BLADES as I order a 250 but did not get wide blades and you need them to move this kayak. Just letting you know the truth I don't work for Jackson
+John Tyler Truth is you don't have your facts quite right. I use the twooonah with extra seats also and can tie all down without having to strap down around the hull. Who do you work for? Ocean, Wilderness, Hobie - guess it yet?
Author No1 well smart ass I am an Ironworker and work dam har for a living say what you want the securing of the seats is terrible and needs to be adreesed honestly threy should have been formed into the mold so they could clip in storage under the set useless center well would be much better as storage compartment truth is this kayak is great to take grandson out vert sable and works great Solow is a tank yes but safe security of seats sinks
Sorry Ocean Kayak, looks like I'll be cheating on you this year.. :) By the way Drew, please tell Jackson kayaks that they are one of the first to achieve a tandem fishing kayak!
+Tyler Mitchell Mate Im in Australia, had one of these especially ordered over here after watching a copy of this video elsewhere. I just bought my first Big Tuna and I love the versatility of this kayak.
It’s crazy how I am planning on getting this kayak for me and a Newfoundland and this video has that 😂👍
This video sold me on these. My wife and I are selling our two boats and picking up one of these soon!

That was a great video to watch all around! Informative and fun! Love the blooper finish! Lol! Keep it up brother! I do love that kayak too!!
Looks like the ultimate family kayak! I own a JK Cuda and love it, I'm really interested in trying out the Big Tuna.
Just bought a Big Tuna, extremely happy with it!
Hey Drew, I just saw the "extreme fishing" show you were on. I plan on hitting the Devils river soon to do what y'all did..... Minus the anklet you were wearing. Damn, that looked painful!
I was going to get the Cobra Fish and Dive, but I'm definitely getting the Big Tuna Now!
You sir,,,have a great family,,God bless

I just don't see this as a kayak. It's like a whole new type of boat with the form factor of a kayak with the capacity of a canoe and the stability of some type of river raft. Pretty cool!
Ha! that goose-be-gone was awesome. I got a big laugh on that one!

Drew, what kind of paddle is that your using? It's really nice looking! (the wooden/carbon paddle)
This kayak looks awesome. Hopefully it's not a major disappointment like the Cuda was. @ sailmatt: On the Cuda the rudder worked great! Not sure how it works on the Big Tuna.
Drew,
Was curious.. will the 2013 Big Tuna, come with the GoPro mount and Ram Rod holder like the new cuda 12??

How well does that rudder do? Not much in the water when solo.
What size paddle is that BB Navigator? 250/260?
dose the rudder come with it?
What length paddle do you recommend for the Big Tuna? I'm 5'10" tall.
are tuna also works on saltwater?
Hey Drew, What kind of PFD are you wearing? Im looking to replace mine.
is this for flat water only? can it go off shore?
are those merrell barefoot that you are wearing? at 2:42 im in market for new kayak shoes thanks
Could you take a big tuna down a class 3 safely?
do you think this kayak is good for offshore fishing
Dang it......sold. Gotta get one.
whats the price on this kayak, thank you

what type of fish is that at 1:19?

How much does it weight?
Has anyone ever tried making an adapter for the tuna tank to accept hobie mirage pedals?
What kind if dog is that?
Yes Newfoundland breed. Awesome dogs
Awesome vid
Love it!!!
The tuna tank looks cheap but the boat is great
In case you didnt know, theres a bear in your kayak at 0:35

Hane Bypass
Goose B-Gone heh heh.
A lot of trash talking going on about this Tuna. I've heard a lot of good things not much bad. What's the real truth here guys?
+Hooked on Wild Waters (Drew Gregory)
Gonna outfish ya at the next Summit, Drew.
