I'm Sicilian American, grew up in Brooklyn, and lived in Germany during my time in the Air Force. Stereotypes suck because I've known good and bad people of all ethnic backgrounds. My 4 years in Frankfurt afforded me some of the best memories of my young adulthood. I Love German and Italian food and especially Mexican food. I'm a Metalhead so I lean toward German music, Wacken!! Peace to everyone from wherever you come from! Tschuss!

Germans have a reputation for class, Italians for style. As an outsider that has visited the 2 nations I think overall they seem more similar then different. In fact northern Italian people could pass for southern Germans and vice verser.
I'm italian and I love german people, I know some of them and they are really gentle and kind. Yes, they are very precise in what they do, but they are also always ready to give you and hand if you need it! ❤
I am half italian, half dutch, but work sometime in Germany. I have tosay it depends, that's why it's to take everyone in general. I know a lot friendly warm Germans, but also arrogant Germans. But I find this also in Holland, or any other country. Let's say, in any country you find good people and bad people.
I agree with you. It's sad I've only realized later in life about German food being so good. I kinda thought it was good beforehand though but just didn't have enough knowledge. It's hard to find German restaurants but I always tell people how much I like German food anyway. I always try to buy German food from supermarkets instead. :) I actually think Italian food is overrated (with some exceptions) but that Spanish food (if we talk about White Mediterranean people) is actually better overall!! Again, I think it's sad that most people don't realize this or it doesn't reach the "discussion table."
Can't get used to the sour taste in most of German's bread. Vollkorn Toastbrot is the only bread I like. Most certainly not the best bread in the world to foreign mouths. We live here for over 12 years already and still don't like German food. Germans drench everything in sauce, so when you order a salad, it's more unhealthy than the baked potatoes, which are drenched in oil. Your cake (Kuchen) is just not very good, to even distasteful. German sausages: yikes and unhealthy too. Sorry, Really don't agree with you at all. When we go out here, we go to an ITALIAN restaurant. What a difference!
I love this channel and it is definitely helping to improve my Italian. It's also a lot of fun to watch the interviews in the streets and some of the locations are especially interesting since I have never spent any time in Milan.

I am Italian and I love Germany and the Germans. Except for the inexplicable period between 1933 and 1945, Germany has been a pillar of European culture in the past, and the lighting guide of democracy and Western countries today. Not only for well-known expertise, precision and accuracy, but even because none has never come to terms with its own past as Germany did after the Second world war. Nowadays the world needs Germany more than ever before: every human being who believes in right, science and reason look at Germany with hope. And let's debunk the not-so-affable mith as well: Germans are often smiley and loving. They just need the proper intimacy. I see intelligence and respect in this. Oh, and obviously there are even stupid people in Germany as everywhere else.

@Cawaii Casey some things better probably, some things worse. the us doens't have universal healthcare.....and I think the food in Italy is much better tasting and also healthier. Also, all european countries have much more developed cultures due to having a longer history.....although none could compete in this category with China's 5000 years of history. Ok, I know I'll get bashed about this but I'll say it. I am Greek and I went to a town in Northern Italy this summer and almost all the Italians there reminded me of Germans, frigid, strict and with an attitude... I was so disappointed...Like in France, the really gentle and helpful people there were the minorities, Africans, Pakistanis, South Americans, etc. and a Turkish girl who was the only waitress who genuinely smiled at me... all the others had an attitude and their smile was forced, not real. In case you think it happened because of my skin color, I am fair skinned with blue eyes so it did not have to do with color. My nightmare was ordering food or drink because I wanted to practice my Italian but got a frosty look while it was clear I was making an effort ... My Italian roomates at the airbnb were not friendly either... I did not like it, I will definitely visit the South next time.... I know it is stereotypical to say.. but that was my experience, overall...

That's true. I am German and every time I come to Italy I see the difference, especially as regards men's Fashion. Just horrible how many men dress!
We do a little game to understand where tourists in Italy are coming from: if they have white socks and sandals they're germans, if they photograph even the littlest of thing they're either chinese or japanese and if they ask for weird food combinations they're americans lol
It's not done with malice, just to joke around, love you all❤

Vero, ma non diretti come i Russi. Comunque più diretti di noi e ovviamente rispetto ai formalissimi Inglesi e Giapponesi. [2:24] Sometimes Germany are playing better football than Italy? Oh, come on, you are kidding. Italy gave Germany their worst nightmares when it comes to football. They ever stayed cool, and so often the Italian team just put the Germany team aside. The Germany football team have humiliated many other teams (ask Austria, the Netherlands, England, Argentina and Brazil), but there is only one team Germany is frightened to play against, and that is Italy.

I think stereotypes contain some small kernel of truth.....and this is probably the source of the stereotype however, I agree with the young lady in the video that stereotypes are greatly exaggerated. I think they also refer to generalities rather than to any specific individual. What a boring world it would be if we were all the same, yes?
@Cawaii Casey some things better probably, some things worse. the us doens't have universal healthcare.....and I think the food in Italy is much better tasting and also healthier. Also, all european countries have much more developed cultures due to having a longer history.....although none could compete in this category with China's 5000 years of history.
In the US.....if you are willing to work hard, then I think it is easier to raise your own standard of living.....this is an opinion of my friends in a few european countries who have visited and worked in the US

Sto studiando francese e su Easy French c'era un video simpatico sull'"apero".... forse sarebbe carino fare un video sull'aperitivo in Italia in un prossimo video. Che ne dite?
Ciao :) ottima idea! Sicuramente ne parleremo nei prossimi video
Im from Italy and I find germans very cold, stiff and very closed minded. I noticed how they plan every single social interaction and I find it very strange. Also, they never tell you things in your face which results to appear as fake and polite. I really like german music tho and german art is very fascinating.
