The next spot on my journey to discover surf spots in Portugal is located in Nazaré Portugal. On Friday 26th of April I decided to head up to Nazar canyon, because a big swell was about to roll in at Praia do Norte beach. Praia do Norte got put on the world map a couple fo years ago after Garret McNamara caught the biggest wave ever surfed before. This is the first time I film a surf spot without going in to surf myself. Why? Check out the video about surf at Praia do Norte that day and you will understand why. Praia do Norte (North beach) when it's big is a whole other league. Discover Nazare, home of the biggest waves in the world.

The power of those waves is amazing. The guys that surf them, chase them, are some of the badest dudes on the planet. There is a old movie called In God's Hands. Highly recomend it. It is a real movie and some times cheesey but all the surfung in it is real and from the best big wave guys in the world.
Going to check out that movie for sure! Can you imagine that it was actually small this day in Nazare? Last year I went to watch those nutters catch bombs of around 30 meters. Completely insane. Full on respect for these surfers!!

Hey buddy. Cheers for that. I have a canon sx-540 (one of the cheapest canon cameras) and I also film with a gopro hero 7. Really happy with my canon. Very good zoom.

hahaha this is a whole other league my friend. Guys who ride these monsters train mostly survival techniques... So this is the first time I filmed a spot without surfing it myself. I hope you understand! ;) The adrenaline rush must be indescribable. Maybe one day, but for now I have only surfed praia do Norte on smaller days.

yep perfect comparison. Makes me remember of a crazy video I watched at Dreamland with Aaron "Wheelz". He goes for it, lands bad, broke several teeth and then says: "hey, going to try it one more time, before I go to the dentist".
