    What an amazing view point from the woman's perspective for a bug out bag. As a dad, I was explaining the importance to my son of his future wifes needs when putting together her bag - this video is perfect. Thank you very much! :-)

    I keep a few contractor bags handy too. They're usually bigger 55 gallon size and they're pretty thick too.
    They can be used for shelter, as a poncho, a tent underlayer.

    Great video!!! You bug out bag is well thought out. Everyone should build their bug out bags to their own need & situations. Nobody in my household has periods, but we all still carry tampons and pads for first aid applications, fire starting, or in case someone else needs them. We carry at least a weeks worth of items in our bug out bags. I live in between two small towns in the middle of nowhere. I have more items for power, lighting, food, water, hygiene, communications, and medical/first aid than most because of my needs/situation. For a nuclear/an EMP event faraday pouches and/bags are worth considering. Also walkie talkies, an emergency radio, a bandana, and USB batteries are worth consideration too.

    Your video covering womens needs is very good. Many young women don't know that stressful situations can affect each woman different. For some it can stop a womans period. And for others stress can start a womans period. It is always good to be prepared with those items that you need. Great video.

    You nailed it on the menstrual cup. You have to be able to clean and remove it. As archaic as pads and tampons seem, they are the most reliable in an emergency. Even period panties have limits to usefulness in an emergency. I took those and cups out of my bags.

      Tampons could be used as a bleed stop in a traumatic injury as well.

    Fantastic bag! I wanted to make a few comments. It's great that you talked about the feminine stuff. Just FYI, not even the military uses menstrual cups. But on the note of family, make sure you have baby specific supplies if needed. My wife and I have 2 boys, 12 and 10, and a 1 YO baby.
    I keep a suitcase that is similar to my ready bag in the military. I have general bug out bag items, but them also individual kits based on needs. I have my adult male kit, adult female kit, and 2 kid kits. They are each in their own dry bag. We also have a baby specific kit with diapers, wipes, changing pad, cream. I also have 4 food packs, one for each person. Finally, don't forget pet food or supplies. Your dog may be with you.
    I few other things. Bug spray and sun screen. Shower shoes for if there happens to be a public shower. You can get flip flops for a couple bucks a piece. I would actually carry a roll of quarters. We still have things in society that uses them. You can also use them for a washer and dryer. So carrying some detergent travel packs. Finally, you should look into some blousing straps. We use them in the military to cuff the bottom of our pants. You can get simple ones, or more heavy-duty ones. They are great because it allows you to adjust the length on your pants. I keep a couple of old uniforms in my bag because it's a nice durable material. With a belt and blousing straps, both my boys and my wife could wear them. I also keep plain large t-shirts. They can fit us all.
    Finally, I'm glad you had that pouch! When we were selling our house and moving and having a new baby we found out that we didn't have our documents in order. We spend the money and got duplicates of everything. Birth certificates, ssn cards, marriage license, wife's nursing license, my DD 214, vaccine list and covid card, copy of IDs, and our passports. We keep it in a pouch, like you have, in a safe, next to our bag. We can grab it when we go. You want to be able to prove you are who you say you are, and show relation. If you have a mixed family, this is important. My sister married a man of Mexican decent. He is a very big dark man. My sister is very petite and white. When they were living in Texas, there were multiple occasions in which they were stopped and questioned. They believed she was being trafficked. Once they saw her ID and name and their address matching, they feel pretty silly. Anyways, great kit!

    Good kit, one suggestion is to put your first aid kit closer to the top of inside of your back. Just cause in a emergency you want to get to it easy and fast. Stay safe

    Great video 🙌🏻, one tip though keep the tourniquet staged/pre set on the outside of the bag or on your person, if you or someone needs a tourniquet you will need to apply it within seconds. Under extreme stress we generally take longer to do things as we lose fine motor skills and the ability to think clearly, so you want to mitigate obstructions between you and the tourniquet.

    You have a cook set. You need a small propane setup to cook with. Some bug spray. A small tarp and tent setup. With guy lines and stakes. Set the tent up in the back yard and spray it well all over with a silicon sealant like scotch guard. And know how to quickly set up your own tarp and tent situation. In case you do have to set things up for yourself. You will be familiar with it and can do it with confidence. Be familiar with your husbands setup as well. If he gets injured some way. Then you can have his back and setup and handle that scenario as well.😊

    Hi Reagan. Thanks for the share. My get home and bug out bags are being updated or changing over time. As a suggestion, try walking with your pack for 3 or 4 hours. You may find yourself finding ways to cut weight. Please share another video if you make enough changes. Keep prepping. Stay cute.

    Super solid, first aid and personal hygiene are MOST important.. may I make a few recommendations, ditch the pee powder stuff unnecessary weight for a single use item, consolidate your medications and first aid together. Also a road flare as a multifunctional item, mainly emergency fire starting if injured also a signal and a wild animal deterrent just so many uses besides a sure fire method and hardly weighs anything!! Thanks for sharing😁✌️💚

    Your adorable! Thanks for making the video. If you keep your bug out bag within reach at all times as I do, you may want your life saving tourniquets on the outside, staged, ready to use immediately. I also keep iodate ready to first dose (with a drink of water in the bug out bag). While I suggest going on a back -yard camping trip (fun!) to become familiar with all gear and fill any gaps in your bug out bags/preps and, bug out plan.

    From a feminine hygiene perspective you could bring reusable cloth pads and a waterproof bag. They are sanitary and reusable. I’d bring five and while some are drying after being washed you can use your disposables. While I know the disposable ones are the best my only conserned is running out. The same goes for diapers for the kiddos

    • @reaganpruitt1578
      @reaganpruitt1578  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes I have wanted to add some reusable ones! Its just that you have to have a way to wash them which is not guaranteed. Each kind has pros and cons. But since a bugout bag is meant to be a short term solution, i figured disposable would be the best route.

    I appreciate you addressing feminine hygiene. My thought was a bidet and the reusable cup thing. But the lack of sterilization on a reusable item like that makes my wife nervous. Thank you

  • @Mhunnicutt100
    @Mhunnicutt100 ปีที่แล้ว

    Amazon also has washable and reuseable cloth feminine pads. There are different sizes and patterns. The y are on my wish list for sure.

    • @reaganpruitt1578
      @reaganpruitt1578  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Those to me are similar to the cups. You have to have a place to store them once used, and a place to wash and dry them etc… they could work in certain situations, especially long term, but not always.
      Those would be good to stash at my bugout location but I’d still use disposables on the way 😅

  • @weaponxnova6794
    @weaponxnova6794 ปีที่แล้ว

    Also you need to store your batteries better that way they don't accidentally get in a chain inside that bag and burn out. I suggest using old pill bottles and that way you also have an air eater that comes inside them

    And also one more thing, make sure you wash your utensils and store them in a Ziploc baggie. You never know whose hands were on those at the factory or at the store and you don't want to be putting someone else's germs in your mouth. I bought a plastic pencil box one of the small ones that I keep all my utensils and my cutting knife for food prepping

      Sadly a lot of people I talk to have no interest in prepping, and I often hear, “Why would someone want to live though that”. What people dont understand, is death may not be fast approaching in SHTF. If a little prepping could have kept someone from starving or dying of a simple infection, why wouldnt they take responsibility.

    • @wmluna381
      @wmluna381 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@concernedcitizen2898 My boss is that person. He has literally said that out loud which is strange to me because he has a daughter he has sacrificed and provides for in every way based on my long-term observation. Why bother doing any of that and just give up otherwise when things get to a point where they will REALLY count?
      Could be that is his way of throwing people "off the scent". 😄 Or maybe is relying on the back up of people I know that he knows who have some knowledge, skills, and firearms aligned to that end (they hunt recreationally, target practice/shoot skeet, and such). 😄 Still, he doesn't even copy a pocketknife, which is something I have noticed even many sorta semi 'in tune' men do.
      It doesn't affect me one way or another, but it's always interesting to me when you look and assess other people's behavior in this realm.
