nope, even the Z line from Sony had the same materials before Galaxy S6 since 2013 and before that in 2011 the iPhone 4s also had premium materials. The boundary is truly not known when the "premium" segment really started but one thing is certain, it was way before S6 era. . . the truth is S6 is first premium Samsung phone with premium materials alongside Note series
iPhone 4 where it actually started for sure, IPhone 4 felt really premium which was totally different compare to other smartwatch companies at the time since they were using plastic and felt cheap .

Yess, that feature really sets the S and Note line apart from other line and it feels premium. I know it's practically useless nowadays cause people tend to use the heart rate monitor on Galaxy Watch or Apple Watch, but that feature really defines the premium line of Samsung phones.
I mean just look at today's Samsung lineup. Even the Galaxy A14's back design looks almost identical with Galaxy S23 except the material quality, flashlight placement, and camera quality 😅

That was my first galaxy flagship as well. Loved it up until it died. Believe mine was an S6 Edge. Then I went to the Galaxy S9 ( remains my favorite Samsung phone ever ) then flopped over to apple for a while
I just upgraded from my s8 to a new s23 and I got to say I really miss the curve glass with the shiny parts instead of matte. The phones looked amazing from that era

I had a Note8 then I upgraded to Flip3 and now to Note 23 Ultra. I’ve gotta say I love my new ultra but build quality is definitely worse than on the Flip. It feels cheaper when compared to Flip3 or HTC M10 other than that it just feels like a weird Note8(S Pen is on the wrong side and no notification LED ehh)
Samsung's Galaxy S6 to S9 series was very premium in build quality and outlook and then later they've focused on specs and environment friendly materials on their devices.
Except for the button in the middle bottom. The S8 Note is still the most beautiful to me. Still have it, just replaced the battery a few weeks ago. Hope it lives another 7 or 8 years!
My first samsung was the s4, then i got the s6 then the s8 then note8 then the s10+ and then the s20ultra twice. My favorite was deffo the note 8 it was just so perfect the design and the feel. But my s8 was also great

Still have mine stashed somewhere in one of my drawers. Same color and everything. Loved it. Made me a fan of the Galaxy S Line. After that I went for the S8 Plus and now recently I upgraded to the S22 Ultra.
I used S6 edge back then. It had some features that my S23 Ultra didn't, such as infrared. I could turn on my TV and AC with my S6 by just pointing it to any devices.
i did as well and also trolled my parents hiding in a corner and with my phone turn off the tv and again when they turn it on lol and also at school connecting it to the classroom projector and the teacher goign crazy haha

My first phone was a galaxy s9 and I loved thst phone. I loved how the fingerprint reader was on the back just in the right spot. I also really liked the curved edges and everything else. That phone was really nice. The only reason I stopped using it was because my younger brother broke it.

i had one of these and it literally bent. beautiful phone when brand new but the second its broken its unfortunately ruined. me, my mum and dad had one each and i had to use my mums because mines battery went, and my mum used my dad's old s6 when he upgraded to an s8, which only lasted a year. that was also another beautiful phone.
The Samsung S2 was my first smartphone. Still love the way it fit in my hand and pocket and just the whole experience. Nothing can come close to that god tier phone.
I have the S7 edge still works good ,can run mid tier games and good enough , although it's lags often ,I have S23 ultra now so don't use s7 now but still like how they packed the phone with top specs in such a thin phone at that time .

I changed rom on my s7 and so I had android 12. It worked amazingly well. Maybe it’s possibly on s6 too

S26 is still a great phone I installed android 13 on my s6 now its so much better

The Exynos 7420 inside the S6 and the Note 5 series was a powerhouse beast, faster than the SDQ810 and same as the A9 Bionic chipsets.
The topaz blue color was the best thing, they should bring that color back
