  • This was once the tallest train trestle bridge in all of North America. Standing 312 feet tall and 1200 feet long it was quite the sight.

    People, the railroad spike was supposed to be a joke. I thought it went without saying that I didn't leave it there but I DIDNT LEAVE IT THERE.

      You come across as a pretty responsible dude, and it seemed pretty obvious that is was just a joke! Besides, I'm sure it would take a lot more than a single railway spike to derail a massive freight train!

    As other people commented Yes It's illegal to walk along tracks but we usually leave people be if there walking along our tracks not causing trouble. Just tell them to be careful. We sometimes check in on people to make sure they aren't stealing or putting stuff on the tracks. No trespassing signs are mostly there to cover the train companies ass if someone gets hurt. Look up the Kinzua Bridge in Pennsylvania. Was at the time 301 feet high and a half mile long. But in 2003 an F1 tornado knocked down 11 of the 20 towers. Really was a very interesting bridge. I took a steam train across it in 1994.

      soooo... this comment is fantastic.

    • @WestCoastWheelman
      @WestCoastWheelman 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The best part about this joke is that train wheels DO have tires, it's the outer ring of harder steel which is friction fit onto the softer iron inner wheel (and it's a pretty cool process how they do it). AND, it IS possible (heck even common) for tires to get a flat spot, usually from being dragged with a stuck brake. But an iron spike could easily do it too... Mr. buzzkill here to ruin your joke by explaining that it's totally accurate and possible!

    I realize it’s been addressed as a joke but that spike can and will derail a train. Also, the rolling rock was not a joke and it hit with enough energy to make the whole structure ring. That probably caused damage to the concrete. Have fun but be a little responsible please.

    Quite dishonest to say "Tallest train trestle" when it clearly is NOT. I doubt the 312ft height claimed. It could be 100 ft but not much more than that. Claiming the 1200ft length as the height is pathetic. Next time lie better than that.
