Great Job, this game's even harder than Gaiden from what I see (Gaiden is actually a direct sequel to the first more than this). Again though, that's an incredible feat you pulled so congratulations. How come your shield is always gone though, do you lose it all during the levels? Lastly, which ending do you consider canon? It's either the one for Mother Hawk or Bio Strong (I guess Mother Hawk)
Why do some bosses make that low-bass gong sound (especially when they appear or come back into view after moving off screen in the case of Killer Higia)?

I actually came here expecting to watch Nehonojia, which would be Zone X boss of the Sega Genesis version. But I understand now, the Arcade version doesn't feature that one. Killer Higia is featured instead. Nehonojia is a skeletal or fossilized foe with the ability to split and scatter before reassembling itself, in addition to attacking with 3 weapons. That and Red Crab, which does appear here, are my favorites. Like how the bosses of this sequel seem to use creative ways to try to take you out, as opposed to those featured in the original.

I like how the boss music ranges from funky action, to unnaturally calm, to just the sound of a humming engine...
I really like the creative design of the games in this era, each one of the bosses have a very unique appearance.
The Darius series has so much potential it’s a shame we won’t be seeing anything new in the future
I mean modern Taito are lacking money and they don't see a shmup as a good way to make a lot of it...
Even Nintendo is lacking money , the only companies making money is EA, and other American companies that heavily rely on dlc and addictive games
I remember playing Darius Twin when I was young with my brother. Good times.
06:17: Next month is gonna be the 75th anniversary of the sinking of the Yamato. Kind of appropriate.
12:46 **The audacity**
06:17 nobody believe they made A Real life Japanese Battleship as a Hermit Crab Boss.
Love the ost beat at this game
I wanna play
Just noticed a person falling after you destroy Leadain
BOSS LIST:
00:01 INTRO
00:07 HYPER STING
00:43 ALLOY LANTERN
usually on the Arcade version when I play, it's All Damage, No Bosses
Love that pew pew pew
Yay, More Darius!
Lucky you, you manged to avoid the emulation sound glitch issue, which sounds like loud grinding when facing any boss
AH! The hermit crab from Black Metal 7:03
Cool
Its the other way around, the hermit crab made a cameo in black metal. Yamato and king fossil cameo alot in other taito games
@@ginidontthinkso4282 Like in that Parodius-esque Space invader game
Cool video!
The original 21:9? lol thing was squashed vertically so much I thought I broke something.
Boa tarde Shadowserg.
Why do some bosses make that low-bass gong sound (especially when they appear or come back into view after moving off screen in the case of Killer Higia)?
3:27, a Bobbit Worm inspired boss?
Nope, probably a moray eel. Eunicid worms look different.
Very wide screen
The most anticlimatic boss theme i've heard, weird considering Darius has some of the best ost out there
What is this the black version of gradius ?
Lol that engrish though

Wasn't Alloy Lantern a Final boss at some point?
Darius Twin
In Darius Twin is the final boss, is a variant named "Súper Alloy Lantern" and it has another battleship inside, the "Great Tusk"

Could be Leadain's pilot, or its prey

Why do shooters have fish bosses
That's just how Darius is
This is the Darius series, all enemies and bosses are in some way shape or form based off marine life.
You can trace that back to Gaiking, which is the whole reason this franchise is even called Darius.
Taito created Space Invaders which features sea-life as well
