OK Tazzz, you’ve done a few Beth performances over the years but you haven’t done the most epic live rock and blues performance of all time-Beth’s “Am I The One” from the Paradiso in Amsterdam in 2004: th-cam.com/video/5Ro191bgp7k/w-d-xo.html Also, for an epic small venue R&B club experience: “A Change is Gonna Come” (Sam Cooke cover) - th-cam.com/video/QnIL8AKWRNQ/w-d-xo.html For a true rock and roll experience with a massive festival crowd of 65,000 at Pinkpop 2005 in Netherlands): "House of Sin” - th-cam.com/video/yLv0QuW8hHo/w-d-xo.html One more Joe Bonamassa collaboration (From the 2013 ‘Live in Amsterdam’ concert): “I Love You More Than You’ll Ever Know” - th-cam.com/video/bOQ07fVVDJQ/w-d-xo.html And 6 more phenomenal performances you really might enjoy: 1) “Mama” (From 2004 Live at Paradiso; Beth alone at piano-about her mother of course): th-cam.com/video/q2DVaSDMRMg/w-d-xo.html 2) "Leave The Light On" (From the 2018 Royal Albert Hall concert in London; about her turbulent childhood): th-cam.com/video/ETj8kXNAtuE/w-d-xo.html 3) “Skin” (from Dutch TV ‘2 Meter Sessions,’ 1999; about the death of an older sister from AIDS): th-cam.com/video/al-b4wx3f54/w-d-xo.html 4) “Babe I’m Gonna Leave You” (Led Zeppelin cover; Unofficial Music Video with sound, 2022): th-cam.com/video/Vl8FBFgg4tc/w-d-xo.html 5) “Bottle of Jesus” (From 2006 German TV Rockpalast; first song that comes up; or click on SONG #1 from list- 00:00): th-cam.com/video/cHKQHvsKCMM/w-d-xo.html 6) “Take It Easy on Me”(From the 2018 Royal Albert Hall concert in London; about her vulnerability and surviving & coping with mental illness): th-cam.com/video/r1y6CQcrUoU/w-d-xo.html
Hi there, Ben. Thanks so much for the detailed, and nicely spaced paragraphs and links. Very thoughtful. Beth is soooooo underrated, and I hope she gains more recognition SOON. ~ Tazzz ~
@@tazzznphilly Don't forget: “Am I The One” (from the Paradiso in 2004): th-cam.com/video/5Ro191bgp7k/w-d-xo.html With respect to Beth being "underrated"...Beth is well-known in Europe and the music industry but not so much in commercial or popular music. There are specific reasons for this and Beth will never achieve Taylor Swift or Beyonce level fame (even though she is superior on every level). The reasons for this are: (1) Beth has to spend enormous amounts of time and energy to manage her mental state and can not do what's required to have high level fame; (2) Beth does NOT want to be famous--she enjoys her privacy and only wants to be able to make a living and tour in the manner she currently does (7-8 months per year); (3) Beth is primarily situated in the the Blues genre which is NOT widely popular in the US; (4) Beth publishes on a small label (Mascot) so she can create whatever type of music she wants; (5) Beth's audience skews to a far older demographic (50-70 yrs); and (6) most people lack the sophistication to appreciate anything other than the mind-numbing pablum that masquerades as music in the modern era. Upon hearing Beth for the first time, people are almost universally dumbfounded and exclaim: "Why isn't this woman more famous?" ...these are the reasons.

I'm so glad this is all about "Muisc Appreciation" and not "Video Appreciation." That video was just dumb. 1. Slash wasn't in it. Watching Saul Hudson shred is a sight to see. 2. Does the videographer have an armpit fetish? What was with the armpit shots? That being said, the song and music are really good. Also, you forgot Slash was in Velvet Revolver. 🙂
