    Oldschool touchtyper, Mexican, we used ISO all the time... it's a pain to adapt to ANSI but have been forced to do so. it does go way up in skill and or price to want an ISO layout. I still end up changing keyboard configs on windows like a madman.

    I’ve been thinking about making my first keyboard, so to see someone doing videos on iso(the Lay-out I use) boards is really cool, THANKS!!!

    I get why key-caps manufacturer don't do much ISO layout (there is so many), but PCB in iso ? Like there is a bigger market for ISO than ANSI (if we count by people in ISO vs ANSI layout regions). I think it's a very much untapped market that keychron and Glorious are taking advantage now better than others.
    And if i wasn't writting emails in my native language full of accents and weird letters everydays, i could switch to a Ansi layout... but i can't.

    Great video! By the way, wasdkeybords lets you customize what characters you want to have on your keycaps using a template svg you can edit yourself. Not the best quality keycaps for the price, but if you need a multilingual keyboard in ISO, at least there's a way. I don't think there's a 75% version though. Thought it might help someone out. If you know a brand that does it in better quality, let me know.

    Wow, so in conclusion its very expensive to build a ISO Layout KB. Thing is with me, unfortunately I have lots fo specs that the KB should have. Like beeing ISO, being hotswap, BT 5.0 with option for 2.4Ghz and last but not least not so chunky of a case. So my endgame keeb is far far away, I guess. Your vid helped a lot, though. Thanks.

      Yes ISO is more expensive, but you should check out the Keychron Q2 and the GMMK PRO, there are a lot of reviews, maybe you like one of them. And always keep searching the web for new keyboards, there is always something new on the horizon, even for ISO :'D

      @@floriangladis We'll do. Thing with Q2 and GMMK Pro is that the form factor doesnt suite my need. I like it beeing little more like low profile / case. Thanks for the recommendations though.

    It's so sad how few 75 % iso nordic hot-swap boards there are.

    The prices are absurd. Specifically for iso. I can find a cheap ansi 60% keyboard with switches and keys for £20-£30. With hotswappable switches. I can just replace everything if I want. That much for keys? Wth?! It's molded plastic... oh my god some people are getting seriously fleeced.

      Prices changed in the last 1 and a half years. Everything is cheaper now. Keycaps are still very expensive though.

    What would you say is to much money to spend on an iso keyboard

    • @floriangladis
      @floriangladis  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well good question! Depends on who you ask, but I would say you have to always consider paying more for the keycaps and you most likely need to buy the soldered PCB. I think that a keyboard in general should be max 500€ and that is already a hefty price. Everything included of course.
