Agreed. There is something about his voice. Maybe Paul has a better voice, technically speaking, but there is something about the Beatles' songs where John is singling lead that just makes those songs so damn good (e.g., I Feel Fine).
I saw a ranking once of the best vocalists, it might have been Rolling Stone, and John and Paul were both (justifiably) in the top 10. I think John was actually a couple of spots ahead of Paul.

It's not all about being a live band. The innovations in studio production and consistently excellent songwriting are something we take for granted these days, but the Beatles really did the best, and operated as greater than the sum of their parts. This is coming from someone who loves The Band, Stones and Who for their own respective brilliance.
Jason Raczkowski How is it not the same thing? They sound almost identical. Especially Julian who sounds the absolute closest you could get before actually being John. Hell, he even looks like his dad.

@Luigi Raimondo Pomo I've been obsessed with them for 35+ years. I wasn't even alive when they were together. Had my awakening a couple years ago so I'm constantly researching. Anyhow, after so much sadness, cognitive dissonance, and being in denial I realized Paul was 100% replaced in 1966/7. Look at him here. His height = He grew 6 inches/ Eye color went from choc brown to green/hazel/ Cowlick went from left to right= Billy Shears' goes from right to left. Billy was already working as a double for McCartney. He's actually in a pic behind the boys after getting off a plane. I'm so heartbroken and grieving. I'm angry at myself for not seeing it. Because now it's so obvious.

The Beatles where the greatest band that ever existed.. their music is as fine as it was 50 years ago!

Classic song.......but listen to this - FEELS A LONG JOURNEY-Classic Song by MOD SQUAD brisbane.
Maybe even better, considering there is less "good" music around today. Or lets say "unique" and "different" music, that is scientifically based.
I know it's never in the talks or rankings but Lennons voice is among the greatest.
Not the best but it’s good
Listen to "Happiness is a Warm Gun" and it's crystal clear.
Yep, there's a difference between a great voice and a great Rock'n'Roll voice and Lennon's was one of the greatest in the annals of Rock. His singing was very often nothing less than sublime.
The comments section on Beatles songs are amazing
I’m surprised how it’s not horrible like other popular people.

Absolutely brilliant. The talent they had was and is still off the charts. It can't be measured. The singing is incredible. Absolutely incredible.
Couldn't have put it better. A masterpiece
I have been really disappointed with remixes throughout the years, it's so nice to hear the way it was mixed originally.
I never knew Ringo invented the exercise bike.
@@tiki_trashthis is the remix, not the original. It was done in 2015.

he actually said "Wait this is micrhophone?"
Difa Rahman r/whoooosh
Difa Rahman I'm not sure that's what he said but he's definitely asking something and then someone replied to him, that's why Paul opened his eyes wider and laughed
Pure perfection! Thank You, John, Paul, George, Ringo.

It’s difficult to convey how amazing the Beatles whole approach was for the time. They were deadpan funny, completely relaxed, and made everyone else look like they were trying too hard. This video was like travelling into the future.
We loved them, I was 10yrs old. 😳
Hello Russia, thanks for your reply, but you misunderstood. I was 10 years old in 1964! So I grew up with the Beatles like you, and like you have never stopped loving their music. It was their great gift to bring people together, no matter where in the world they lived. Great to hear your thoughts about them, all best wishes from England.
@@stevef9530 Thank you Steve!!! Music 🎶 of the Beatles connecting peoples around a world. Let's will be live in peace in our wonderful world❤!!! Moscow, Russia.
Hours and hours of practice in Hamburg. That's a big part of what made them so brilliant.
They do make everyone else seem like they try too hard. They perform like its their garage just hangin out. Oh, an we just happen to create brilliance in between jokes.
The Beatles are the best band in history.
Actually the Who, Stones, the Band completely destroy them live (aka without tons of production to make them sound good).
It's not all about being a live band. The innovations in studio production and consistently excellent songwriting are something we take for granted these days, but the Beatles really did the best, and operated as greater than the sum of their parts. This is coming from someone who loves The Band, Stones and Who for their own respective brilliance.
Rolling Ormond no they dont
Rolling Ormond even live the Beatles harmonies were beyond the quality of those bands you mentioned, as much as I like them all
Rolling Ormond the Who yes, not the Stones😂😂😂😂

'62 too...and you're too right
Yes, the harmonies. Heavenly, but groovy, big time!
I was born in 1950 and enjoyed something of them when teenager no the sixties. But later, when I got the fifty ages, I enjoyed all of them. To whom play guitar and understand something of music, it’s impossible not to like their work.

John's guitar riff was not easy, and to play it flawlessly is an accomplishment on its own. Just another aspect of their collective genius.
And while singing too! Plus, there is a slight riff variation tucked in there too, which most don't notice.

Johns voice was made for rock n roll.
He can thank Yoko for that. She is a excellent voice coach.
