MAATS Tech Carousel Install on CLV Nexans Aurora

MAATS recently completed install of a massive, 10,000T concentric carousel and bespoke deck lay system on the Nexans Aurora.
The 149.9m vessel, specially designed and outfitted for cable lay in deep water boasts a state of the art, MAATS designed system that was designed in close partnership with Nexans, vessel designers Skipsteknisk and ship builders, Ulstein Verft AS.
This timelapse shows the installation of the carousel. There was a small technical hitch which means we missed the installation of the outer carousel base segments but you get a good view of the majority of the installation.
